isabella's pov| 5:02 a.m| monday
i felt like i was going to be sick, i don't even know why i'm nervous. this isn't even my first, tomorrow is my first day. i don't even need to be there for another 5 hours. but i'm wide awake, due to my stomach turning; from anxiety.
~
i fell asleep after i calmed myself for the third time that night. waking up between 8:20 a.m. feeling that ray of sunlight hit my face. quietly getting out of bed, making my way to the bathroom to freshen up.
going to my closet and picking my outfit for the day. pulling up my high waisted jeans, sliding my green v-neck shirt on. putting on my fuzzy socks with my brown boots. before leaving i walked into the bathroom placing my contacts in.
grabbing my phone and walking out of my room, shutting the door behind me. heading downstairs making my way to the kitchen.
"good morning honey." my grandma said, shuffling her feet over towards me. giving me a kiss on my cheek.
"hey, go get yourself ready, so we can head to the school, we have to be there in 30 minutes." i said.
"oh okay, honey. my shoes are in the front and my jacket." she said walking to the front door.
Going over towards the cabinet grabbing a snack before i left. walking my way over to the front door seeing my grandma pulling on her jacket.
"put your coat on, i'll start the car." she says opening the door, walking out into the blanket of white coldness. putting on my coat, quickly heading out of the house. which wasn't a smart idea, almost landing face first from the ice.
getting into the car my grandma started smiling at me. opening gps, typing in my school. starting our route.

i've been the office for almost an hour. i had to go talk to my new guidance counselor about my schedule. finalizing the schedule she gave a call to a teacher, telling them to send one of the kids to walk me around. waiting for around 5 minutes after the call, a knock came from the door.
feeling my stomach twist on how nervous i was, what if they didn't like me. or did something to me. calm down isabella you'll be fine, it's just a student.
"jack, it's great to see you. why are you out of breath?" she asked the young man. keeping my head down.
"w-well you see, i was walking down here. but my friend's classroom door was open and i walked in there. saying hi to him, and to meet in the gym before lunch. then i looked at the time realizing i was late. running here, t-that's why I'm o-out of breath. can I have a sip of your water?" the boy said.
realizing he was talking to me, i lifted my head up. looking him up and down before getting to his face. wearing black jeans, a black jacket, with a flannel wrapped around his waist. his white showing a little under his jacket.
"y-yeah go ahead." he grabbed the water bottle and started chugging it. almost drinking all my water.
"jack, manners." the guidance counselor said. "sorry i was just really thirsty." he said throwing the water bottle away.
"i'll buy you a new one promise you." i gave him a quick smile.
"jack here is her schedule, go ahead and walk her around. i'll see you later sweetie, your grandma and i will have a conversation while you two are gone." i nod while grabbing my phone. walking out with Jack.

The Depths of Magic
Synopsis It's the year 2052 and the release of the new next-generation full-dive VRMMO game called The Depths of Magic is hitting the world by storm. The game's technology will surpass all other games before it and shock the masses. Hector who goes by the name Locke inside the game is an experienced player of the genre. He is looking to continue his goal of enjoying gaming as well as the competition that goes along with competing for the top ranking spots. Novel Summary The Depths of Magic is a LitRPG novel focused on a Fantasy VRMMO setting. This is not a harem novel. In-Game systems The Depths of Magic features state-of-the-art technology never before seen in Hector's world. The key system the novel will bring up often is the Second Brain. The Second Brain system is more like a guidance AI for the players in the game that acts as if you had a second brain assisting your every action. How much guidance this AI will give is based on its experience or mastery skills a player will receive in the game. The guidance is seamless to a point where a player won't even realize they are being assisted, it's will feel like what they are doing is something they could always do. However, once they leave the game it will become quite apparent that they were receiving heavy guidance. The purpose of this system in a writing sense is to explain why a player can realistically become more powerful, more agile, or more skilled than they would otherwise be able to as a human. To give an example if someone could move faster than a bullet, how would a normal human brain be able to perceive and control this movement properly. Or how could a player who has never held a sword before become as experienced as someone who has trained with the sword all their lives? The magic system will be another focus of this novel. I don't want to spoil anything here but it should be an interesting one. The hope is that the system I have made will spark discussion between the readers on what combinations will do what. I already have most of it, but it will be fun to read as the author. Side notes My general focus for this novel is to attempt to make the in-game systems make sense. To give a vague example I have read a lot of novels of this genre and some have the habit of just creating such powerful items that it just breaks the system, and somehow the MC keeps finding challenging situations even with those items. What tends to happen when I read a novel like this I just ignore the stats of the items he is getting because the numbers don't even matter anymore. Release schedule: The chapter release schedule due to real-life complications is to release as I write them. Patreon setup: 1 chapter early release/discord access. Free content up to the current chapter includes an excel sheet that contains Locke's current stats at the end of the chapter. This is extra information for those that are interested.

Author's Note: Just a fun little side project that popped up in my mind after reading a bunch of isekai and wanting to write my own. If there turns out to be demand, however, then I shall turn this into my main project and deliver content more regularly.
