《Edward and His Bully Troubles》chapter 7

BAM BAM BAM BAM!
eli kept punching me as i laid on the bathroom floor, trying to crunch up in a ball.
bam! my stomach. bam! my eye. bam! my rib! bam! my eye. punches just kept coming and coming.
after what felt like forever, eli rolled me on my stomach. i closed my eyes knowing what was about to come.
he sat by my head and put his feet on my shoulder so he could have more power.
he grabbed ahold of my waistband and in just one tug, he had it just below my shoulder blades. he kept pulling and pulling, deeper and deeper.
snap! my waistband was attached to my forehead. i groaned.
"let me go!" i yelled, hoping he would oblige.
"i guess i'm gonna have to make you shut up since you won't do it yourself, dork!" he grabbed onto my waistband and kept pulling on it. he stuffed it into my mouth, blinding me as well as making me taste and smell my own underwear.
i spit it out and he got mad. he grabbed some tape, stuffed my underwear back into my mouth, and taped it.
"mmmpph! MPHHH!" i tried to make a sound but he just punched me again.
i sat there on my fours, helpless. then, out of nowhere, he started tugging on my underwear just where it comes out of my buttcrack, making the wedgie even worse.
after about twenty minutes, he let me out of the atomic wedgie. i tried to fix myself, but he had other ideas.
"take your shirt off!" he demanded.
"w-wha.. n-no!" i was shocked.
"i said NOW!" i did as he said, not wanting to anger him even more.
he yanked my tighty whities and hooked them onto my shoulders.

"keep that in all day. or else." he added. i put my shirt back on and tried to head out the door, but he pulled me back.
before i knew it, i was getting beat up again. i tried to distract myself but nothing seemed to work.
i thought i heard a door open but i must've been going crazy because eli didn't stop punching me.
"WHAT THE HELL!" was what i heard. i turned my head because eli stopped punching me to find cole standing in the doorway.
"oh shit." i muttered, but no one heard me.
"EDWARD? is that you?!" cole yelled angrily. i slowly stood up awkwardly.
"uhh..uhh.. i... uhhh.."
he angrily looked at eli.
"eli smith?! the guy two grades below me?!" eli just stood there speech less. suddenly, cole jumped on eli. started raining punches on him. while they were busy, i caught i glimpse of myself in the mirror. i looked horrible, fat and split lip, bruised eye, blood on my shirt and hell, who knew how many bruises i had under my clothes.
twenty minutes later and cole finally got off of eli, but i could tell he was still pissed. he angrily stomped over to me and grabbed me by my neck and basically dragged me out of the bathroom.
"we're going home." cole demanded. i just kept on walking, his hand still on my neck.
eric came down to the office and we left.
we sat in an awkward silence the whole way home.
"so, care to explain what's going on?!" cole asked angrily as we walked into the house.
"i-i dont k-kno-know what th-there is to e-explain." i simply responded, sitting down on the couch.
"oh well maybe you should start by explaining why the hell you didn't tell us you were getting bullied! oh and why the hell you let that guy do that to you!"

i sat there for a minute, not really knowing how to answer. i felt both cole and eric's piercing looks on me, so i decided i should say something. "w-well i thought y-you would make f-fun if me... a-and i cou-couldn't do anything, i-i'm w-weak..." i answered and looked down ashamed.
there was an awkward silence for a few minutes. eric and cole exchanged a few sympathetic looks but never said a word. eventually, eric spoke up, "look, ed.. we're sorry. we never knew that you would be impacted by us in this way. we always thought that we would toughen you up by doing this, ya know? it's what brothers do." he paused for a second and looked at cole again. "we won't bully you anymore.. we're sorry."
i looked up but i was still pretty angry. they beat me up my whole life and all i get was a sorry?
they started to come closer to me to give me a hug, but i got up, grabbed my bag, went to my room and locked it. i just wanted to be alone so i could think some things over.
after a few hours, i heard my brothers talking outside my door.
"dude what are we gonna do?" i asked cole.
"i don't know, but we have to do something.. we can't just let him get bullied the rest of his life." he answered.
"i agree. but that means we have to stop too."
"ya i know, i feel horrible."
"me too." i replied.
we sat in silence for a few minutes.
"he didn't even want to give us a hug..." i said. cole nodded and looked down, ashamed.
"it's been a long day, we should get some rest.."
"okay, goodnight." i walked to my room and i heard him say goodnight back to me.
i knew i had to change my ways and be nice to edward. but my first priority was for figuring out was i was gonna do to that eli kid. he was a grade below me, i could beat him up.. right?

Of Gods and Dungeons
March 16, 2021 - Hiatus note: I will come back to this story! I'm really struggling with it, though. It's been a number of years and I kind of forgot what the original outline was. I still remember the main path, but not any of the details, because I stupidly didn't write an outline. Progress is being made. I'd like a very decent sized buffer before I start posting again. Don't want to get hopes up only to immediately disappoint! ----- Amy Barnes, an aspiring chemical researcher, finds herself dying from cancer. One of her most desperate prayers is answered in a way that she'd never dreamed possible, and she finds herself living a new life as a dungeon. Warning: Violence, morbidity Cover: Taken from here, courtesy of www.pexels.com by photographer @tookapic. Author's Note: I've read some dungeon core stories on here, and they've tickled my fancy. I've thought up a whole story, start to finish, and thought it'd be a blast to put it into words. Other than the violent and morbid aspects, this story is suitable for children. Aside from the vocabulary, that is. I will avoid the temptation to have any cursing, sexuality, or gore. Excessive gore, I suppose - it is a dungeon story, after all. I’ll do a little research from time to time, but this story will not have a great deal of rigor. I’ve made Amy’s knowledge comparable to my own for that reason. There’s a few things she knows more about than I do, and a few things that she knows less about. Unlike me, she doesn’t have access to Google - it’s a non issue for her to be more knowledgeable than me, on occasion :P This story does not use the same magic system that I’ve used in either Sorcery in Boston or A Summoner’s Confession. This one is mostly intention based, and designed to be easier access for people who are more used to the idea of, “It’s magic, therefore it works” kind of thinking. Do note that Amy is, in most senses of the term, overpowered. This goes along with the usual dungeon core stories. She’s not more powerful than other dungeons per se, but she does have knowledge and intelligence that puts them to shame. I thought about doing this in a LitRPG style, but systems take balance, and I wanted this to be pure fun to write. This story was inspired from a few sources. Despite the title, it wasn’t really inspired by Of Mice and Men, though some of the themes match. Rather, I’ve taken inspiration from a few dungeon core novels on Royal Road Legends for the main idea. Many conventions of dungeon core stories have been perverted from the genre, however. I’ve taken my usual science-loving self to town to play around with the powers, and I can only hope you have half as much fun reading this as I have had writing it.

Recruit - An Infinite Labyrinth prequel
A prequel to The Infinite Labyrinth. The year is 1816. The British Empire is in full swing, under the auspices of King George III. The Infinite Labyrinth has been pouring out its product from beyond our reality and fostered a new industrial revolution. Times are changing, and the people of London are feeling the winds of the revolution while British Professionals push into the Labyrinth. The newly formed Artefact Hunting Company is looking for recruits, and they have new technology to help them. From the slums of London, they aim to recruit a new wave of Professionals. And make Zacharias and the Earl of Carnavon lots of money. So, for Rowan Rivers and a handful of lucky ones, it's time to head into the Labyrinth, and discover what makes it different from England. And what makes THEM different? Recruit is a bunch of chapters I wrote to create to the setting, mood, and game systems of the Infinite Labyrinth. It is NOT a complete story in the classic sense. It's more of a slice of life view of early days of a normal Professional from the Infinite Labyrinth, and it's heavy on info-dump. It's 90% canon - there's probably a bit of a difference between how some characters and common behaviour are portrayed here and how they'll come out in the main story. Set two years before the events that kick-start the main series, it features some of the secondary/peripheral characters of the Infinite Labyrinth and will tell you all about the basic mechanics of the Labyrinth's RPG system. It can be considered a spoiler, as the characters in the Infinite Labyrinth are going to need to figure out all that, on their own. But if you like a much deeper exposition in the mechanics, here it is. The entire prequel is about 80 pages long.
