《The Other Nikiforov》Movie Night

"I'm not jealous of that piggy," Yuri grumbled, scooping up popcorn from the bowl with his hand, stuffing it into his mouth and angrily chomping at it.

Katrina smirked, reaching over and grabbing a handful for herself before Yuri ended up scoffing it all in his totally-not-jealous rage. "I never said you were," she clarified with an amused smile, Yuri's cat already asleep on her lap, "we go shopping together all the time."

"That's not the point," Yuri muttered, bored of the movie adverts and the fact that his cat had once again took Katrina's side was just an extra punch to the gut.

"Why? Not like I'm your girlfriend or anything."

Yuri choked on the popcorn in his mouth before defensively shouting, "what the hell! Like hell I'd want to date someone as annoying as you!"

Katrina laughed amusingly at the poor kitty (and it wasn't the sleeping feline on her lap), completely unfazed by the shade the blonde was trying to throw at her. "Your so funny Yurio"

"Don't you even think about calling me that too!"

Katrina didn't know why she found it both amusing and intriguing to tease the blonde haired boy like so, maybe it was how cute he was when he got all agitated, his blonde hair falling over his face, his green eyes ablaze with passion and inner fire, how he'd pout his pale lips...

Yet she knew he wasn't truly angry at her, when he was truly angry or annoyed his eyes were cold like ice ready to cut someone with one dark look, but his eyes right now - they were fire. Beautiful emerald fire.

Whack!

"Owwww," Katrina rubbed her head, sitting back up with the offending object that had hit her, Yuri's cat running off to a quieter spot, "why did you do that Yuri? So meaaaannnnn."

"The movie is starting," Yurio grumbled, not exactly apologizing for hitting her head with a pillow, "you were the one that wanted to watch this."

To be honest Katrina wasn't 100% interested in watching the film and had just wanted an excuse to come over to Yuri's so she didn't have to watch Mila and her date suck each others faces off. Mila was nice for letting her stay in the guest room of her flat but there were lines and well the walls were not as thick as Mila might believe. So sleepover at Yuri's it was.

And Yuri was totally fine with that...apparently...against his better judgement.

She got changed into her pjs in the bathroom while he quickly changed in his room, trying to stay casual and cool but completely failing when he saw her grey Neko Atsume hooded cape cloak ( I own this and it is super comfy http://tokyotoys.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=191&products_id=1062 also dear any artists I'd love to see this for the sake of cuteness) and had a one in a yellow colour for himself, which resulted in some selfies together against his better judgement. Why did she have to be so damn cute?

This was going to be a long night for the teenage boy.

Yuri wasn't even paying attention to the film, his gaze kept being averted to the silver haired girl next to him, his cat returning to sit between them now that it wasn't in danger of being hit. There was a warmth in his chest - he wasn't sure if he liked it, it made his heart beat so fast that he couldn't hear any of the films dialogue, his hands trembled with nerves he didn't think he had so he buried them in the cloak pockets. She made the great Russian tiger weak. He didn't like it, he hated feeling weak - even coming second place would infuriate him, but at the same time he couldn't push her away as there was a strange comfort to it. They sat it a comfortable silence as they watched the film...and second one...and third- admittedly he took note of the death via Zamboni from one for...purposes mainly to do with a certain piggy.

"You going to choreograph any of your performances for nationals?"

"Huh?"

"Wouldn't be the first time you made a routine at the last minute," Yuri glanced over to Katrina, a piece of popcorn at her bubblegum pink lips, "you choreographed 'Welcome to the Maddness' pretty well in one night and officially joined the 'ignore Yakov' club. Although the phone call in the early hours of the morning before the exhibition skate wanting me to come down to the rink wasn't fun for me."

"I don't know," Yuri muttered, trying not to look at her lips, "haven't really thought much about the exhibition skate."

"Why? You're going to win."

This kinda shocked Yuri. As much as he held himself as the obvious winner at every competition, no one else showed such utter confidence in him to say such a thing so casually, as if she were stating a fact rather than an opinion or a prediction. His confidence rising by the second, as he smirked and slide his arms across the top of the bed pillows. "hmph, of course I'm going to win, I'm not some stupid one trick pony, I'll show them that-" he stopped completely when he felt weight falling on the side of his chest, the same side Katrina was on.

She had completely fallen asleep on him out of nowhere, well not nowhere since she usually worked too damn hard on the ice so yeah of course her body would eventually crash in the need for sleep and it was also half way through like their 4th movie by this point, he didn't need to look down to know this from the feeling of her warm steady breathing on his neck. He didn't want to look down though cos...well turns out she wore pj shorts rather than long PJ pants and you know...her....'things' were now pushed against his chest.

He was a teenage boy with some very stubborn hormones, even if his head screamed at his body not to, if she woke up and saw it...oh boy. He tried thinking about skating, thinking about his grandpa, about running over Yuuri Katsuki with a zamboni (still protesting that he was not jealous), thinking about...well anything but his current situation.

So he sat awkwardly on his bed, even after the movie was over, with his crush sleeping on his chest, unable to make himself move away.

Eventually he did fall asleep, somehow shifting from being sat upright to sleeping on his back on top of the bed sheets, and woke to not the thing he feared he'd wake up with but to the face he had avoided by choosing to not look down last night. She was an angel, a damn freaking angel...who was waking up too.

Katrina rubbed her eyes, blinking a few times as her baby blue eyes adjusted to the morning light as a messy bed head mob of blonde hair filled her version. She blinked again, checked to make sure she wasn't dreaming still, realising that she had pretty much been using Yuri's chest at a pillow during the night, but looked relatively unfazed and quietly calm to Yuri (mostly since she was screaming and squealing inside her head but he didn't know that).

"Hi."

"Hi....PRACTICE - MUST GET TO PRACTICE" Yuri pretty much left skid marks on the floor as he jumped up and ran outside the studio apartment, picking up his skating bag and shoes, red face and flustered.

"You're still wearing the neko atsume hoodie and your pjs Yurio."

"DAMMIT!"

Yuri walking back into the apartment, trying his best to look confident and composed as he gathered clothes to wear for the day, Katrina deciding to curl up and get a little more sleep before having to face another day of training. Yuri taking his bundle of clothes into the bathroom to change to find, much to his surprise, the sunglasses he thought he lost to his rabid fan girls in Barcelona perched on the bathroom sink.

He looked at the glasses then back to the semi sleeping silver haired girl on his bed and back again. Just how the hell did she do that? He was pretty sure they would have been sold on eBay by now. When did she put them there? How long had his sunglasses just been standing on the bathroom sink? Why didn't she just tell him she found them?

Katrina Nikiforov - she could never cease to amaze, infuriate and enchant him. But she was also the one with his heart, even if she didn't know it.

"Yurio I want syrniki*," Katrina groaned into the pillow she was sleeping on now Yuri wasn't being her personal pillow.

"Get up and make it yourself," Yuri closing the bathroom door with his foot for emphasis so it made a loud thud as it slammed shut, "and don't call me Yurio."

"So meaaaannnnn."
