《Cubits Can't Save You Now (In Progress)》Chapter 22: The Sneak-In

(Fun Fact: The title of this chapter is a reference to an episode of Amphibia called "The Shut-In!".)
The door closes. Cut to the inside of the elevator. The Nixels stare at the kids and Boogly suspiciously while Boogly hums "Gravity Plug".
"Umm... nix, nix? Nix, nix, nix, nix, nix, nix, nix nix!" Zabo told the nixels.
The Nixels gasp in shock. Cut to the exterior of the elevator. The two Nixels exit, laughing, as Scrud, Blip, and Booger glare at Zabo in annoyance while Boogly stares at Zabo in confusion.
"What?" Asked Zabo as he and the others exited the elevator.
"It's a funny story."
Nixed Ash enters the elevator as Nixed Frostbite walks past. Cut to the room, where we see multiple nixels walking around. The kids and Boogly gasp in shock.
"Whoa, man, look at this place!" Realized Scrud.
"..Uh.. Boogly doesn't like this." Admitted Boogly.
"Neither do I, but remember what we came here for, Boogly." Assured Booger.
Video feed cut to outside of the I-Cubit building, where the Newzers are.
"We'll never get past the guards!" Complained Myke.
"Hey! It's Camsta!" Exclaimed Screeno as he looked up.
"Seems like you guys could use a lift, not to mention our ratings." Said Camsta.
"Grab ahold, I'll get us in!"
The other Newzers grab onto Camsta's ski and he lifts them up. Cut to him flying to the decoration on the I-Cubit building. He approaches the top window and opens it.
"Hah, how do you like that? Somebody left the door open!" Laughed Camsta.
The Newzers fly onto the rafters of the room. Cut to King Nixel looking at a set of monitors with his airship on the picture.
"Give me a report, Major!" Demanded King Nixel.
Cut to the airship flying over the stadium.
"I'm flying high above the fracas, we're heading for Mixopolis Stadium!" Noted Major Nixel.

Cut to Major Nixel and a Nixel's image on the monitors.
"We should be able to wrap this up shortly and be back in time for dinner." Said King Nixel.
The screen cuts to the stadium image. Cut to King Nixel standing next to a Nixel.
"The city is mine!" Laughed King Nixel.
King Nixel grabbed the Nixel by the arms and swung him around.
"It's mine, mine, mine!" Shouted King Nixel.
King Nixel then let go of the Nixel and let him fly off-screen.
"Weak-minded Mixels, how easy it was to convince them to give up their Cubits! Those fools!" Laughed King Nixel.
Cut to the Newzers. Camsta extends his camera towards King Nixel as his visage shows through the lens. Cut to Mixopolis Stadium, where King Nixel is being shown on the monitors. The Airship flies above the stadium.
"Would you look at that! I can see you on the Jumbotron!" Said Major Nixel off-screen.
"Huh? What's that, Major?" Questioned King Nixel.
Cut to the inside of the Airship, Major Nixel and the Nixel looking nervous.
"Uh, nothing, Your Egregiousness! As you were saying?" Lied Major Nixel.
Cut to the stadium, where King Nixel is onscreen as an entire audience Mixels watch.
"Oh, yes, what dolts! What dimwits!" Shouted King Nixel.
Cut to the Mixels in the crowd looking shocked and feeling insulted.
"Hey! That guy's a jerk!" Realized Combustor.
Cut back to the monitor.
"What dunderheads!" Shouted King Nixel.
Cut to King Nixel laughing in his lair. Five Nixels come up to him and stack up, the top one whispering to him. The camera zooms out, where we see the kids and Boogly.
"What's that guy doing?" Zabo whispered to Booger.
"That's King Nixel! And he must be plotting something horrible!" Realized Booger.
"No kidding, Booger!" Said Boogly.
A few pats were heard, and then camera pans down, only to find that a part of The Darkness was patting Booger's leg. Booger blinks twice, and then he looks behind himself, but he saw nothing. He looked up, but he saw The Darkness leaking from above, with Corrupted Flain, Corrupted Rambamboo, and Corrupted Nurp-Naut (currently switched to Naut) sticking onto it. Booger gasps in shock, and warned the other kids and Boogly about the situation.

However, The Darkness suddenly dropped down from the ceiling, so Boogly knew what he had to do.
Boogly backed up and pushed the kids out of the way, causing Boogly to be engulfed in the giant mass of glitchy slime.
"BOOGLY!" Shouted Booger.
"The stadium has been Nixelized!" Exclaimed King Nixel off-screen.
"It's time to begin phase three!"
Cut to Major Nixel and King Nixel.
"But your Wickedness-" Reminded Major Nixel.
"No buts, Major! From now on, Mixopolis will be called 'Nixopolis'!" Shouted King Nixel.
"..Oh yeah, I forgot he's there." Realized Zabo.
"Also, 'Nixopolis' is a really bad name for a city."
Booger shook his head and took off his box disguise, and then the other kids and also took off their disguises afterwards.
"Hey King Nixel, let's see what the Nindjas have to say about your evil plan!" Shouted Booger.
"Yeah, Globert and Vampos will be there to stop you too!" Yelled Zabo.
"Yeah, those guys too!" Agreed Blip.
"What? Let's just see what they have to say about it." Said King Nixel.
An elevator drops onto Nixed Twinzy-Twinsy as a Nixel pushes a button on it. Steam exits the door as it opens up. The three Nindjas are in it, all nixed with spirals in their eyes as they stumble out. Another elevator drops down on the opposite side of the wall, and it opens it up, with a lot of steam coming out along with two of the Nixed Glowkies.
"Mysto! Spinza! Cobrax! And I think those other guys are Globert and Vampos! They've been Nixelized!" Shouted Booger.
"Ooh, that's not all! I have succeeded in scamming all of Mixopolis into handing over every last Cubit!" Explained King Nixel.
"Then, I cleverly reduced the Cubits down to their pure liquid essence and reversed the osmosis of their sub-molecular maxillary! Uh, don't ask me how."
King Nixel walked over to a device where an I-Cubit is floating and a monitor shows his plans.
"I loaded it all into a super-ballistic missile, which will soon be blasted into the stratosphere, and rain back down on Mixopolis, absorbing the entire color spectrum!" Shouted King Nixel.
"Okay, that’s... a little harsh, but Mixopolis is my town! I won’t let you do it!" Protested Booger.
"What could one small Mixel possibly do to stop me, when I have all the Cubits!" Laughed King Nixel.
"Oh, yeah?" Questioned Booger.
Booger pulled out his Cubit, showing it off to King Nixel.
"Say hello to my little friend!" Shouted Booger, imitating an Italian accent.
"WHAT!? YOU HAVE THE LAST CUBIT!?" Barked King Nixel.
"NINDJAS, GLOWKIES, SEIZE HIM!"
The nixed mixels from the two elevators run towards the kids, as they back away and other nixed Mixels follow suit, backing them into the corner.
"The Nindjas have been Nixelized..." Complained Scrud.
"King Nixel is taking over the city..." Worried Booger.
"And we're about to fall off this really high platform to our doom!" Noted Blip.
"How will we get out of this one?" Asked Zabo.
"I got three words for you: Coordinated, group, dancing!" Said Booger.
"Huh?" Questioned the other kids.
"WHAT!?" Shouted King Nixel.

Rise of the Firstborn
[A participant in the Royal Road Writathon Challenge]As the inhibitor rises and the eternal flame is quenched, our lands shall be freed, and only then will the Princess be set to flee. It began with ice. A relentless, bone-chilling tickle of frost that stretched across the lands of Axulran, crawling over the mountain crests and freezing the grassy meadows. Frozen in time, the kingdom fought for political control all across the region of Ellixus, paying no mind to the death and torment they may cause along the way. Cateline Bennett, a princess consumed with ice, found herself lost in a foreign kingdom with nothing but her wits to survive. As she explores this unknown land, she unravels her past and discovers that the magic she had concealed for so long could unleash chaos so intense, it could destroy the world as she knew it. With her untapped magic and new friends, Cateline must vanquish the enemies that threatened the world of Denzethea as they knew it, else they, and all they knew, would crumble to ruin. NOTE: A review on this fiction has indicated that certain themes were traumatizing. While I believe this to be exagerated, I have added the appropriate tag for those who may be sensitive to those themes (fever dreams, delusions, and trials and tribulations).
8 154The Lady's Handbook of Intrigue and Murder (High Fantasy Politics)
Summary:The daughter of a dying house is summoned to the Imperial City to meet and perhaps marry a handsome prince. It sounds like a fairy tale. Except Mydea doesn’t have the advantage of a half-forgotten childhood encounter, supreme magic to match the highest echelons of society, or even the privilege of an ally. In order to survive and make a name for herself, she must beat the Imperial Court at its own game. At least no one's tried to kill her—yet. Notes: Basically, if you liked the magic of Harry Potter and the politics of Game of Thrones, you'll probably like this. While the first book focuses on the female lead, and the interplay of competing regional and imperial interests, subsequent books will also cover warfare and how I imagine that differs wildly from historical norms with the introductions of a magical aristocracy. Bloodlines is the first major story set in the far larger and immensely connected universe known as Infinitum. A group of renegades and misfits take into the sky in their fancy skyship to fulfill the prophecy they don't care about and defeat the Empire they care even less about. In the process, they learn things (they would rather not) of the fucked up Universe, dead gods, and the future that holds no mercy. Bloodlines draws inspiration from One Piece. But in the bigger picture, Bloodlines is one of many stories set in Cosmere-like universe where plots stretch beyond planets and star systems and stakes are higher than godhood (like in Malazan chronicles). Currently, I am planning to finish the first arc [Bandit Arc], add 10k words interlude with some revelations, then publish a story happening elsewhere. Then I will be back to write the second arc. For now, the Fifth Region has 8 arcs planned. Officially, there are 5 regions. The Fifth Region is not the shortest but is far from the longest regions. - PS. Pay attention to flavor text. Chapters published weekly.
