《Cubits Can't Save You Now (In Progress)》Chapter 14: The Honest Brothers

M and the two boys stared at each other before screaming at each other. The long-sleeved boy threw his flashlight at M, and it hit his chest.
"WHO ARE YOU!?" Shouted the short-sleeved boy.
"YOU TELL ME FIRST, I'M TOO SCARED RIGHT NOW!" Shouted M.
"Guys!" Announced the long-sleeved boy.
"Can you both shut up for one second?"
He cleared his throat and introduced himself as "Jackson Honest" and he told M that the short-sleeved boy was named "Jason Honest" and that he was his brother.
"..Oh, that's merry. I'm M." Said M, still freaked out by what had happened earlier.
M looked around and asked the Honest Brothers where he was. Jackson said that he was in Albright Middle School, and that he and Jason were looking for ghosts.
"Oh no, ghosts?" Worried M.
"That Darkness stuff from before is at least more malicious than this."
Jackson snickered at "The Darkness", except he really didn't know what he meant.
"You're afraid of the dark?" Questioned Jackson.
"Hey, that's not what I meant! There's this malicious slime that's corrupting everyone and it's just called 'The Darkness'." Explained M.
"It made me come here to have a more safe place since the Darkness must've invaded my home already."
Growling was suddenly heard in the background. M, Jason, and Jackson look around themselves, but they were the only ones in this school. The three cautiously walked forward through the hallway with Jason shakily holding his flashlight in fear and Jackson holding him to try and comfort him. M asked Jason why he and his brother started ghost-hunting, and Jason said "We had nothing better to do, so here we are.".
More growling was heard, which made M and Jason more afraid than they both already were.

"S-so, how long have you mastered ghost-hunting? Mostly many months or so?" Asked M, trying to bring some light into the situation.
"Eh, 3 or 5 weeks or so." Replied Jackson.
In the background, one locker with a slightly rusty label that said "31" was leaking some ectoplasm out of its holes, and the ectoplasm dripped onto the floor as it poured out of the holes. Cut to a medium shot of the Honest Brothers and M, with Jason and M looking worried while Jackson was looking determined. The growling was heard again, only it was much lower this time, and it even later became... whimpering?
"What the.." Muttered Jackson.
A shriek was heard, and then static. Familiar static indeed.
"..I think we should move backwards now, I know that noise means much danger from the Darkness." Worried M.
"Come on, M. At least face your fears, and besides, me and Jason have experience so we're not too worried." Jackson told M, in an attempt to make him braver.
The static soon grew louder by the second, and the more the mere sound grew, the more worried Jason and M became. However, a garbled roar was suddenly heard, and the scene cuts to the end of the hallway, where the shadow of a giant monster could be seen, eating a green light. The shadow went to the wall, revealing that the shadow was connected to a giant pile of The Darkness with a skull-like face.
(A/N: This is a reference to the giant blob of The Darkness with a skull-like face from the Pibby: Apopcalypse poster.)
"THERE IT IS!" Shouted Jackson, as he pulled out his phone from his pocket.
However, before he could take a good picture, Jason grabbed Jackson and dragged him back to the French doors, with M coming along the way. Jackson took three photos, or at least attempted to.

"Yes!" Exclaimed Jackson.
Jackson looked at the photos he took, and they were slightly blurry, but the first one was the blurriest.
"Dangit!" Complained Jackson.
Jackson put his phone back in his pocket and caught up with M and his little brother, Jason.
*Commercial Break*
It was a race against time, The Darkness versus two humans and an Alphablock. The giant pile of Darkness shoved itself aggressively towards the three, hot on their tail. However, before The Darkness could take them alive, all four of the characters were suddenly transported on a white counter into a commercial for a Happino's donut shop. A man in a blue apron, white shirt, and blond hair looked puzzled and a bit shocked at the four cartoons on the counter.
"KEEP MARCHING, IT'S MANDATORY!" Shouted M.
"Hey, I'm trying to do a commercial here!" The man told the four cartoons.
"SORRY!" Jason apologized to the man behind the counter.
But when the four cartoons climbed onto a donut display and went off-screen, they were now transported into a white void, aka the background of an episode of Mixels known as "Hamlonga Conveyor Belt".
"Hamlonga sandwich!" Said Zaptor as he walked over to a plate with a hamlonga sandwich on it.
Zaptor zapped himself, and then from above, another hamlonga sandwich was dropped onto the plate. Screaming is heard in the background, which is coming from M, Jason, and Jackson, but Zaptor's hamlonga addiction made him too focused on the hamlonga sandwiches to listen.
"Hamlonga sandwich!" Exclaimed Zaptor.
Zaptor spotted a lever behind him, which had a sign above it that said "SLOW / FAST". Zaptor looked at the plate of hamlonga sandwiches again.
"Hamlonga sandwich!" Exclaimed Zaptor.
Zaptor looked at the lever again, and then back at the plate of hamlonga sandwiches.
"HAMLONGA SANDWIIIICH!" Shouted Zaptor.
Zaptor zapped himself once again and then he rushed over to the lever, setting it from slow to fast.
*Commercial Break*
Meanwhile, Rokit was finally done cleaning the marshmallow fluff off of his brain and his eye.
"Stupid marshmallow fluffy stuff." Said Rokit in his head.
"If it weren't for that stupid pile, I wouldn't be such an amnesiac cyclops no more."
"Rokit, are you done yet?" Asked Naut.
"Yes. Can we go find shelter now?" Said Rokit, an annoyed look upon his face.
"I thought this was our shelter." Said T.
S looked to T in confusion.
"You thought this settlement was shelter?" Questioned S.
"Rokit, we were here just so we could wash the marshmallow fluff off of your brain, remember?" Teslo told Rokit.
Suddenly, the fire-feet Infernite and Seismo from a chapter ago fell back to the spot they were at when Teslo, two of the Orbitons, S, and T saw them.
"Me no like you." Seismo told the Infernite.
A coconapple from the coconapple tree under Seismo landed on him and then landed on the Infernite, knocking the bull-like Cragster out.
"Haha, coconapple!" Exclaimed the Infernite.
However, static was heard, and it was louder than a few chapters ago. Zorch looked around in confusion, but then he saw Krader covered in.. some kind of weird oil? Whatever it was, Krader was covered in it and he was charging towards Rokit.
"Oh, sup Krader!" Greeted Zorch.
Teslo looked to Krader as well, only to find in shock and horror that he's not the Krader that Teslo knew.

Essentia Animus
Second Book of the Soul - Celesi Veil Trilogy When the living essence of three girls are put at risk, giving room for a second essence within themselves, even their hyper developed fantasy world might not be enough to contain their new found ambitions. Another story of another world, these three girls must adapt to their new essence, all while each is left to question if they are truly still even alive. While this story is a sequel of the previous story in the trillogy, it is also fully capable of standing alone in its own light, taking place in a distant corner of a Celese returning readers will be otherwise incapable of recognizing. However, the events of the story are a spoiler for the previous book, in case that matters to anyone. This story takes place over two centuries after the events of Vitae Memorandum, when Celese had developed into an advanced world, improved to a point that it is much like modern-day Earth while still using the gift instead of technology. The Aethyx languages are still present in this book, and even English still exists in the world after the events of the previous book, but are much less of a focus after the same closing events of the previous book. What is instead important is how the ending events of the previous book had resulted in the start of the Instrumentation Era, and exactly how the gift translates in a modern-day sense. While this book is still effectively a fantasy world of its own kind of magic, it isn’t the classical medieval scene that would be typical for such a story. The laws of science still do not exist in Celese, but that didn’t stop it from developing into something that looks similar enough. Earth itself still remains present on the other side of the veil, and its previous exposure continues to shape and advance Celese into the world it has become. This story contains scenes exibiting mania and similar dark themes, as it goes to great length to explore concepts of life and death. While the degree of such themes should not be considered to be as serious compared to matters such as actual horror, the psychological depth is still siginifcant enough to be potentially concerning for people sensitive to matters of this nature, such as any individuals with concerns questioning matters of suicide, mental harm, or a variety of emotional injuries. While none of these subjects actually occur in the story, readers who are currently troubled by such matters may find themselves considering old wounds if they are especially capable of empathy while reading, which could lead to furthered emotional or mental stress. Readers with a high capacity for empathy may find themselves troubled by concerns regarding any potential lack of mental/emotional control as well as considerations regarding the meaning of death. Readers who appreciate subtle dark themes in a story may instead find this to be an interesting twist of the same idea.
