Zayn pov

I woke up with tears in my eyes.

Another morning without my mate. I don't remember falling asleep. I think I kind of collapsed after days of searching.

As soon as I sat up, Will was at the door. "How are you feeling Alpha?"

I placed my hands in my hair. How was I feeling? Well, my mate was still gone. So not good at all.

I know I had been a mess the past few days. I wanted to cry, scream and kill anyone in my path all at the same

time. That last one was the most dangerous one. I knew that one wasn't me. That was the rogue inside of me. The one that I refused to let win.

I sighed, "Any news?" I asked, not actually answering his question.

Will shook his head, "No, Alpha." He paused and seemed to be in deep thought. As if he was considering whether or not to tell me something.

"What? You're hiding something." I said as I stood up.

Will frowned, "I'm not Alpha."

His heartbeat skipped a beat. "You're lying." I approached him slowly.

Will sighed, "Fine. But in the living room."

I didn't waste a second passing him. Harley was already sitting at the dining table, in front of her three plates of food. I nodded at her and sat down. Thinking about eating makes me want to throw up but I knew I needed strength to find Harry.

Will sat down and I could see him mindlinking Harley.

"Don't keep me out of the conversation." I spoke with gritted teeth.

They both shot from their link and looked at me.

Will started, "He told us not to tell you without having proof, but last night Jasper stopped responding after telling us he had a hunch."

I raised an eyebrow, "A hunch?" Cade suddenly perked up. This could mean something.

"You need to stay calm when we tell you Alpha. You cannot lose control and lash out without proof." Will

spoke with determination.

I nodded, "If it's for Harry I'll do anything."

Harley glanced at me and she slowly reached for her necklace, "Just a precaution." She whispered as she

opened the vial and held the silver close to my body.

I gulped, this hunch must be quite interesting.

"Jasper told us this around the time you fell asleep. Since then he hasn't responded to anything. His phone is turned off, and Fred can't reach him through the link. We think he

might have found the Luna but ran into trouble along the way." Will started.

I nodded slowly. "What did he find?"

Will took a deep breath, "He told us he thought he could smell your mate on Alpha Ray."

Cade immediately growled in the back of my mind but I forced myself to stay calm. The darkness was already

swirling in my mind, I couldn't let it out of control.

"Alpha Ray has been leading search parties though?" I questioned.

Will nodded, "Which is why Jasper told us not to tell you unless he had proof."

"Him not responding is worrying us, especially Fred. She's on her way to us right now to discuss things." Harley spoke up carefully, the silver still in her hand.

That is worrying indeed. Jasper marked Fred the same day my mate was taken, moments before it happened actually. Ever since then he's been stuck to her like glue, as any mate would after marking. If Jasper isn't responding, something must be wrong.

"When she's here we're heading to his pack. Ray was supposed to join the search party today, we can ask him."

I decided.

Will and Isa nodded in agreement.

When Fred arrived she told us she couldn't contact Jasper at all.

When we told her the plan she stopped us, "Wait, if Alpha Ray is joining the search, wouldn't it be smarter to search his pack lands while he's gone?"

"Valid point." I spoke, I took a deep breath before looking at Will and Harley, "Can you two?" I trailed off.

"Of course Alpha, We'll search his lands while he's gone."Will confirmed.

"Thank you, Fred, you join them too, you might be able to contact Jasper if you're close to him." I spoke.

Fred nodded, "I will. What if we run into any other pack members?"

"Then explain the situation. The only one who could outrank Will is Jace, and he'll most likely help in the

search if you explain what is going on." I told him.

Beta Jace is a good man, who has taken a liking to my mate. I know he'd even search his own lands to find him.

I sighed as we headed outside, "Text me as soon as you get anything."

The group nodded before heading towards Fred's car. I made my way towards the forest, we were meeting at the spot harry was taken, so I would walk.

When I arrived, Ray was already waiting for me. I made sure to shake his hand, so I could get close enough to smell him properly. He was freshly showered, and the shampoo he used was strong and not the one he usually

used. I did however, notice his brown eyes. If this bastard is really the one who took my mate he's not surviving

today.

"Where are we heading today zayn?" he asked.

I sighed, "We have other packs searching around the State. I figured we search around here once more. Just to make sure we didn't miss anything."

Ray nodded and sent out his wolves before looking at me, "We'll find him, Alpha."

I nodded in return before heading out myself. Yes, Ray. I will make sure I'll find him.

Harley pov

We ran through the snow covered pack lands. I knew Fred and I were slowing Will down but he refused to let us fall behind. The snow wasn't helping either, slowing us down

even more.

Fred had been trying to contact Jasper but the link was still cut off. I caught my breath. Thank the lord I started

training my stamina after I came home from our Halloween visit. At least I can keep up somewhat.

"Anything?" I asked between pants.

Will shook his head. I could feel his determination through the bond, making me smile. He was doing everything in his power to find my brother.

I looked at Fred but she shook her head as well, "He's completely cut off. I can't even find the link like I normally can."

"Shit."

"We'll keep looking." Will spoke as he kissed my temple, "We haven't explored much of the land. He could be anywhere."

We ran a while longer when Will suddenly stopped in his tracks and stood in front of me defensively. His

annoyance and worry seeped in through the bond and I knew we were about to run into trouble.

A wolf appeared. Thankfully, he was alone. He shifted and I looked away as his naked body was on full display.

There was some shuffling before Will linked me that I could look. The man was now wearing boxers, and I recognized Beta Jace.

"May I ask why you guys are on the pack lands?" He asked us.

Fred stepped forward, "We're looking for Jasper. He has disappeared."

Jace frowned, "He has? Can't you link him?"

"The link has been cut off." Fred said.

Will spoke up, "Jasper had a hunch about the Luna. We're afraid he got lost while chasing a trail."

Jace raised an eyebrow, "Why would he have a hunch on our pack lands?"

"That's what we're trying to figure out." Will spoke.

Jace sighed, "Fine, I'll help search. I don't think the Luna will be here though. Alpha Ray already searched the lands by himself."

'Suspicious.' Will linked quickly.

'Yeah.' I replied before joining Jace as we searched once more.

After a while Will stopped, "Harley, can I have some of your brother's clothing?"

I frowned but nodded and grabbed a sweater from my bag. Will sniffed it before sniffing the air again.

His eyes widened, "I can smell him."

I gasped, "Really?"

Will nodded and threw the sweater at Jace. He sniffed it too before sniffing the air as well. He then frowned

deeply, "But we're so deep in pack lands... how is that possible?"

"We'll discuss that later." Will said before running off.

My heart pounded in my chest as I followed. Harry, please be here.

As we followed the trail Will spoke up again, "I can hear Jasper. He's calling for help."

"I can hear it too." Jace says with a nod before running even faster.

We eventually reached a rundown shed. "They're in here."

Will says before he starts beating down the door. When it finally opened, I gasped at what I saw.

My brother is chained up and sitting on a bed. He looks like he hasn't showered in days and his hands were

shaking slightly. The shirt he was wearing was covered in blood.

"Harry!" I exclaim as I run towards him.

The rest of us enter as well. Fred heads towards Jasper, who I now realize is also chained up against the wall.

"Harley." Harry says with his eyes full of tears.

I waste no time engulfing him into a hug, "Thank god. You're safe now. We're getting you out of here."

Harry smiles through his tears but freezes when he looks behind me.

"Beta Jace."

We all turn around to look at the Beta, who is just looking at the shed in shock.

"Are you with him?" Jasper asks.

"With who?" Jace asks with a frown.

"Alpha Ray." Harry whispers.

We all stiffen, "What?" Jace asks in confusion.

"That bastard wants to make Luna harry his new mate." Jasper snarls.

I tighten my hold on harry and widen my eyes, "He what?"

"He's been starving him. Forcing him to let him mark him." Jasper spats.

Jace's frown deepens, "No, he wouldn't do that..." he trails off.

"I didn't believe it either. But he told me so himself Beta." Jasper says defeated.

Clearly, the high and mighty Alpha has lost his appeal.

"But why would he?" Jace asks.

"He says that his pack needs a Luna. And that he was tired of people looking at him with pity." Harry speaks up. He looks exhausted.

Jace clenched his fist, "I'll kill him."

Will nods in agreement, "I'll help." I can feel his anger and bloodlust through the bond.

"Let's get them out of here first." Fred suggests.

We all nod and Will reaches for the chains. Harry stops him, "They're silver."

"Can't break out of them." Jasper adds.

"I think he has some gloves nearby. Yesterday when jasper arrived he went outside for a bit before returning with them and more chains." Harry says.

Jace and Will waste no time and start searching while I take in Harry I reach into my bag and take out a power bar.

"When is the last time you've eaten?"

"Technically, this morning when I managed to sneak in a few beans and some mashed potatoes, but that was only a few bites." Harry says as he greedily takes the bar and munches it down in a few bites.

I give him another one but Fred suggests he waits between meals because it could upset his stomach.

"How is zayn?" Harry asks.

I bite the inside of my cheek, "This morning he was still in control. He's distracting Alpha Ray right now so we could search his lands."

"Can we text him I'm ok?" He asks worried.

I nod as Will walks in again, holding a key, "Idiot didn't even keep the key on him." He hands me the key, not

wanting to touch silver himself.

"I'll text the Alpha while you get him out."

I let out a sigh of relief as his chains come off. I hand the keys to Fred and she frees Jasper. Harry is shaky on his

legs but manages to stand.

"What happened to your stomach?" I asked.

Harry shrugs, "It's nothing." I gave him a look and he explained, "Ray's claw, the day I was kidnapped. It's been healing slowly. I'll be fine."

"I can't believe the Alpha would do this." Jace says defeated.

"I think losing his mate might have hit him harder than we all thought." Harry says softly as he pats Jace on his arms.

Jace smiles down at him, "I'm sorry Luna. If I had known-"

"It's fine. Right now we need to reach zayn" Harry interrupts him.

"I've send him a text that we've found him. But we might want to find him before he rips Alpha Ray to shreds." Will says.

We all nod. Jace turns to Jasper, "Can you shift?"

"Now that the silver is gone, yes." Jasper answers.

"Good. We'll shift then. The girls and Harry can ride on our backs while we head to the forest. Alpha Ray was supposed to meet Alpha zayn at the place the Luna was kidnapped."

Jace orders and we all nod in agreement.

I hand Harry the sweater I was keeping in my bag. It might not have been clean but it's going to keep him warm in the cold as well as hide the blood on his shirt. The last thing we need is Alpha zayn losing his mind because his mate is wearing a bloody shirt. Even if he will probably

smell it, this will help.

Not a minute later, I'm on Will's back as we race through the snow covered forest. Harry is on Jace's back and I

can see the determination in his eyes. Jasper is lacking behind slightly, the sliver weakened him more than he

thought. Fred told us to keep running though, finding zayn was our priority now, Jasper and Fred would catch

up.

'What will happen to Alpha Ray?' I ask Will through the link.

'If Alpha zayn doesn't kill him, Jace and I will do it for him.' He replies, leaving no room for arguments.

'Good.'
