《Please...》Chapter Twenty Nine

"Remus, no."

"Sev-"

"I said no. He... Sirius is not being left alone with Harry yet. Not yet. I don't trust him."

"Severus, give him-"

Severus groaned. "Don't you dare tell me to give him a chance. I am. I've let him see Harry, we set up another date for next week, but he does not get to see HArry alone, much less babysit for four hours."

"He's his godfather!"

"He's only met him once! I do not trust Sirius. And neither does Harry. Maybe when he's older and they've gotten to know each other, but not now."

Remus flopped into a chair. "He is not the same kid you knew at Hogwarts."

"I don't know that."

"Yes, you do-"

"No, Remus, I don't. I do not trust him. In case you forgot, he bullied me for years. He tried to get me bit while you were turned, which wasn't fair to either of us. He was always reckless when he did Order work, Stunning whatever he could, breaking our cover." Severus set his bag on the bathroom counter. "Remus, believe me, I want to trust him. I want to for Harry's sake, but I can't. Not in such a short amount of time, knowing what he did. I still don't know how you trusted me after such a short time, but that won't happen with me and Sirius."

The two started at each other, Severus hoping this would not turn into a huge fight.

"I trusted you because I knew you. I know you." Remus sighed. "I shouldn't've expected you to trust him so fast. It's not like you studied with him during Hogwarts, you two hated each other."

"We did, didn't we."

"I guess I should be glad you two aren't killing each other."

"I suppose."

"I'm sorry."

"It's okay, Remi."

"I-"

"If you apologize again I'll kick you, Remus," Severus said. "You're fine. Now come on, I thought we were s'posed to make the best out of our time? You know, since Harry's with McGonagall and Thomas? And since the only time we get alone is when he's asleep?"

"Y'know, you're right."

"So what do we do?"

"I really don't know."

"Great."

The two stood in awkward silence for a while, rocking on the balls of their feet.

"We could.. um... I mean..." Severus stuttered, face turning red. "Nevermind."

"Sev?"

"I said nevermind."

"What is it? What do you want to do?"

"Uh..."

Remus grinned. "Sevvie... Sev, Sev, Sevvie..."

"I want to..." Severus hid his face in his hands, then said something almost inaudible.

Remus chuckled. "Then come on. Dinner isn't until seven." He took Severus' hand and dragged him to the sitting room. With a flick of his wand, a record started playing softly. "Come here, you."

Severus let Remus pull him closer and spin him a little. "Remus?"

"Yes, Sev?" Remus replied, dancing in a circle.

"I love you."

"Aw. I love you, too, Sev."

The two danced in a circle around the living room, Remus sometimes lifting his boyfriend off the floor, which made him squeal. It was nice, quiet, calm and fun.

"Remus!" Severus yelled when Remus lifted him on the floor and wrapped his legs around the man's waist. "You are so..."

"So what?" Remus replied, then stuck out his tongue. "Brilliant? The best? Handsome?"

"Well, obviously all of those, but you can be rather surprising."

"Well, thank you. I like surprising you."

"I like your surprises."

The Gryffindor grinned and spun around, Severus held on tighter.

"Prat!"

"Aw, I love you, too, Sevvie!"

Remus continued to dance, twirling in slow circles around the sitting room floor in silence. Severus rested his head on the other man's shoulder, kissing his neck occasionally.

"Remi..." Severus mumbled, breaking the peaceful silence. "When the school year's over... could you- would you come live with me and Harry?" Severus asked quietly, glancing at the floor. "It'd be nice."

"You'd... actually want me to? But we'd have to... my transformation-"

"Remus." The Slytherin looked up through his hair. "I want you to live with me and Harry. If you don't want to, that's-"

"No!" Remus exclaimed, cutting the other man off. "I want to. Really."

"You do?"

"Yes. I just... worry about my transformation. If you can't make my potions, just in case, we need somewhere for me to go. Sev, do you really... You really want me to? Have you asked Harry?"

He shook his head. "I knew he'd get too excited and be devastated if you said no. But yes, Remus. I want you to live with us. If it's too early or something, you don't have to, it's just... Harry needs you."

"And?"

"And?"

"And what else?"

"And... I want you. I want you to live with me. Please."

"Sev." Remus brushed Severus' hair out of his face. "Can you do something for me?"

"What?"

"Stop saying Harry needs something when you need it, to," he said. "It's okay to need me. It's okay to want me to be with you. Can you tell me when you need me?"

"I can try... I don't do good with this... stuff."

"I know. You're getting better."

"So..." Severus smiled. "Will you?"

"Yes. I will. Gladly," Remus said. "As long as you want me to."

"Thank you."

"You're welcome."

"Bloody hell, place is fancy..." Severus mumbled when he walked in the doorway of the restaurant. "Remus, what the hell?"

"We deserve it, come on."

"Was it hard to get a reservation?"

"Not really, no." Remus walked over to the front desk. "Reservation for Lupin?"

"Right this way, sir," the waitress said, grabbing two menus and started walking.

"I thought you'd like it here," Remus whispered. "It's a Wizard restaurant, we don't have to pretend."

"Thanks."

"No problem."

They sat down at their table, which was thankfully in the a corner where there wasn't a lot of people.

"Anything thing to drink?" the waitress asked, setting down their menus. "Coffee, water, lemon water, juices, fizzy drinks?"

"Water for me."

"Me as well, please." She left, and the two started flipping through the menu. "So, Remus..." Severus started. "I..."

"Yes, Sevvie?"

"I like this. Everything. When we danced." He smiled. "It's nice."

"We can do this more often, you know," Remus replied. "Once a week, twice a month. I don't think Harry would mind, he likes Thomas."

"I'd like that. As much as I love Harry, I like it when it's just the two of us." He took a sip of his water. "I like it when I'm with you."

"I like it when it's just us, too... So... When I move in with you, we'll... We'll share a room, right? I mean, if you don't want us to, that's fine I just figured-"

"I want to. That's what I had thought. If you don't-"

"No!" Remus exclaimed. "No, no, I just... I didn't know. I... I want to as well. I like not being alone at night." He chuckled. "That sounds childish, doesn't it?"

"I don't think so," Severus replied honestly. "I feel the same way, if I'm being honest. And, what's the point of having separate rooms, anyway? You've basically moved in already. Oh, I found that sweater you were looking for. It was under the bed."

"And you stole it, didn't you?" Remus chuckled.

"Well, stole is a strong word... More like borrowed without asking?"

The werewolf laughed. "Because they're oh-so different, huh?"

"Yes, very!"

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Tonight was fun," Severus said as he took out his ponytail. "Are you going to come with to get HArry, or would you like to stay here?"
"I'll come with. It's not like it's far away or anything."
The two left with a goodbye from Salazar (aka he started whistling 'Here Comes The Bride' very off-key, which made both of them laugh), and started walking to Professor McGonagall's office.
"Are you going to tell Harry tonight?" Remus asked. "About me moving in with the two of you?"
"Tomorrow. He's probably tired after playing with Thomas. I'll bet McGonagall was her animagus form the entire time so he could play with a cat."
Most of the walk was in silence from then on, besides a few questions or comments or pointing out Peeves spreading oil all over one of the stairways (thankfully not the one they had to use).
"Think he'll want to sleep with us tonight?" Remus asked as they neared her office.
"Honestly, I hope not," Sev replied. "Is that mean?"
"No, I don't think so." Remus knocked on the door to McGonagall's office, which opened a moment later. "Hello, Minerva."
"Hello, Remus. Come on in, Thomas is reading to Harry."
The two walked in and saw an adorable sight: Harry was leaning against Thomas, half asleep, as the teen read to him with an arm around him.
"Remus, why don't you get Harry ready. Severus, a word?"
"Minerva, what-"
"Harry saw a boggart today," she interrupted. "It was only for a moment, it could barely do anything. But I just thought you might want to know what it was. I'll say it myself, I was surprised."
"What? What was it? His uncle?"
"No... Severus, it was you."
His face fell. "What?"
"It was you. The only thing it was able to say was 'I don't love you'."
"I..."
"I already explained to him what it was, and I'm positive he understands that it wasn't you. He was only upset for a minute or so. He knows it wasn't really you. He knows you would never do that, he knows it. Don't you dare beat yourself up over this or I will hex you, Severus."
"Thank you for telling me, Minerva. I'll be sure to talk with him about it tomorrow."
"I apologize if I made you upset, Severus. How was your date?"
"It- Who told you it was a date!?"
"Severus, you're clearly dating. I can't believe it, I lost to Flitwick, damn you!"
"You've been betting on us!?"
"Well, technically since your fifth year. He bet you two would start dating until after Hogwarts, I stupidly believed you too would've acted like normal people and told each other. But no, you too had to be as stubborn as hell, didn't you?"
"...So you have been betting on us since we were fifteen!?"
"Maybe. Alrighty, well, that's all I wanted to tell you! You two may go now! Go be with your son!" she rushed out. "Goodbye!"
"DADDY!" Harry squealed when Severus walked over, still glaring at McGonagall. "Daddy, lookit what we made! Tommy let me finger paint 'gain! I dided this one for him, and he mades this one for me! And this one's for you and Pappy!"
"Oh, it's very nice, Harry. Is that us?"
Harry nodded excitedly. "'S me in the middle, you and Pappy on da sides, and Fulbert in the middle!!"
"Very pretty, honey. Want to get going home? It's getting late."
"Okay!" He ran over to Thomas and hugged him around the middle. "Bye-Bye, Tommy!!"
"Goodbye, Harry. I'll see you soon."
"Bye-Bye P'fessor!"
"Goodbye, Harry."
Harry grabbed Lily off of the sofa and Remus' hand.
"What did Minerva want?" Remus whispered as they walked, noticing Severus' sudden sadness. "Was it something bad?"
"Harry saw a boggart today. It was me telling me I didn't love him. Remus, I thought he was better, what if he's not? What if he's hiding it for some reason-"
"Severus, he is better. Come on, d'you know how many kids fear there parents not loving them? It's probably just his worse fear because of his past. You're going to talk to him about it, right?"
"Of course I am. Just makes me worry." He shook his head. "I shouldn't focus on it. He's happy, you're happy, I'm happy."
"Good. I'm glad you're happy."
"Well, if it isn't my favorite little snake," Salazar said once they reached the portrait. He glanced up. "Oh, you two as well."
"Ha ha, Sal, very funny," Severus replied. "I can still have you moved to the Gryffindor tower you know."
"You wouldn't do that to me! Godric Gryffindor is up there!"
"Exactly." He said the password. "So let us in."
The portrait started grumbling, but swung open anyway.
"Bye-Bye, Sal!"
"Goodnight, Harry."
"Up?" Harry held his arms over his head, looking at Severus longingly. "P'etty please?"
"Sure, bambi. Up we go." Severus rested Harry on his hip. "So, are we sleeping in Daddy and Pappy's room tonight or yours?"
"Sleep in mine t'night," Harry answered. "Daddy... Daddy loves me, right?"
"Of course I do!"
"I love you too, Daddy..."
"Harry, are you asking because of the boggart you saw today?"
The child nodded. "P'fessor McGonagall said it wasn't you. I didn' think she was lyin', just..."
"Wanted to make sure?"
"Yeah."
"Well... I love you, Harry. With all my heart. And I will never stop loving you, okay?"
"Okay, Daddy."
Severus pressed a kiss to Harry's forehead. "Lets go say goodnight to Pappy, yeah? Maybe tickle him a little, get some revenge?"
Harry grinned. "YEAH!"
Deep down, Severus was still very worried about his little boy, but he new he probably didn't need to be. After all, when this had started Harry had been petrified of yelling, now he does it all the time!
What was there to be over-worried about?
