《The Boxer {h.s.}》Chapter Six

The fight starts with a sharp, annoying ring of the bell. My legs bounce up and down, my face buried into my hands. I nervously wait for someone to swing.

Fighting in general is not really my thing. I don't understand why people can't talk it out like a normal human being.

Whenever people would fight while I was in school, I would just leave. I didn't want to watch two humans beat each other. It blows my mind that people can do it for a living and still sleep at night.

Harry is the first one to throw a punch. The man harry is fighting seems all of about 5 foot compared to Harry. He's very muscular and can tell his he packs a punch. I'm completely on edge as the man gloved fist collides with Harry's jaw making him fall to the ground.

Harry is making no move to rise again. The ring guy adventually counts to ten and Harry looses the first one with just one punch. After he finally rises he looks ashamed. He won't meet my eyes as he stares down sthe ring floor.

"Come on Harry! Beat his ass!" I yell as loud as I can rising to me feet. His eyes finally connecting with my own. A large smile spreading across his face, now that his mouth guard is out.

"For you" he mouths making me blush. I blow him a kiss giggling.

As the second round starts Harry stands with a bit more confidence. His shoulders are high and his head is held tall. I smile clapping my hands. Harry goes in wasting no time in punching the male. His fist colliding with his face and torso repeatedly. I almost feel bad for him. I would rather an unknown male get hurt than Harry though.

Harry of course wins the second round. He's turns around pulling his mouth guard out and slumps in the corner. My phone starts buzzing in my pocket but I choose to ignore it. The buzzing doesn't stop so I grumbly pull it out. My dad is calling me.

"Hello?" I punch my other ear closed so I can hear him.

"Hey you need to get to the hospital. Your mother isn't reacting to this dose of chemo well" his voice is soft. No. Not now.

"I'll be there soon. Is she alright?" I want to be here for Harry, but my mom is ill.

"I don't know for sure. P will be here soon"

"Ok I'll be there as soon as I can" I hang up stuffing the phone back into my pocket. My eyes snap back up to the ring as I hear the bell. A smirking Harry stands with his right hand raised victoriously by one of the ring girls. A sting of jealousy arises within me as I notice her hand on his chest. He winks at me lifting my spirits a bit. I give him a weak smile making him furrow his eyebrows.

Harry jumps out of the ring walking towards me. His arms immediately wrap around my waist making me smile slightly.

"What's wrong babe?" He mumbles pulling me back to where we were before the match.

"I have to go Harry" I sigh, rubbing my face with my palms.

"Why? Did I do something wrong?" Harry puts his hands around my wrist gently, pulling me towards him.

I don't mean for it to happen, but I just break down. Everything that's been building up just releases.

"Shh it's okay." Harry sweetly coos into my ear over and over. His large hand rubbing up and down my back. I don't care that his skin is soaked in sweat and that his body is burning hot from his fight, I cling to him and let everything wash over me.

Harry gets me settled down before asking me what's wrong.

"My mom. She's not doing so well" I mumble wiping my eyes. He slightly pouts pulling me into his arms.

"I have to go to the hospital." He nods loosening his grip on me.

"How I about I shower really fast and I'll come with you." He so sweet and not at all what I expect from a boxer.

"You are probably tired Harry. You can go home if you'd like" my voice cracks a bit, making Harrys eyes soften.

"If you need me I don't care how tired I am, I'll be there."

When we reach the hospital, my dad has called me about 4 times but I have just ignored them. I'm a terrible daughter and I know it.

My dad and stepdad are waiting seated in a love seat holding each other's hand.

"How's mom?" My dads eyes light up as he sees me.

"P is back there now. Only one visitor at a time." I nod and sit down, harry sitting beside me.

"Is that your dad?" Harry whispers. I nod giggling a bit.

"Oh is he um like gay?" His cheeks up as he asks the question.

"Yes. It's a long story" I mumble shaking my head. He nods not pushing me any further. Penelope walks out wiping under her eyes with Rose settled on her hip. She doesn't even look in our fathers direction as she walks towards me.

"She keeps asking for you." She mumbles. I nod closing my eyes.

"I'll be back soon" my eyes connect with Harrys as I rise. He nods giving me a weak smile.

"Hey mom" Her smile is bright even though I know she's in pain.

"Hey baby"Her voice is weak as she pats the bed beside her.

We talk about everything under the sun. I tell her about Harry and she immediately wants to meet him after we finish talking. I tell her only one visitor at a time, but she protest saying "If I'm going to lay in here all the time i atleast what to meet the boy stealing my daughters heart". My mom has this wit to her that never stops making me smile.

"I'll talk to the nurse" Swiftly kissing her forehead. The waiting room is just outside her room, I peek my head out the door and see Harry sound asleep.

"Mom he's asleep."

"Ok well next time" she smiles.

"Next time for sure"

"Here we are" Harry sighs as we reach the arena again so I can get my car.

"Thank you so much Harry" He nods.

"I'm always here" My hand softly lands on his right cheek as I kiss the opposite one. He cheeks warm a bit under my touch before I slip out his car going to my own.
