《I'm Stuck! [The Umbrella Academy : Five Hargreeves X Reader]》Chapter Eight

It was the next day, [Name] barely sleeping in worry for the others, noticing that it's been ten hours since Klaus was kidnapped and still no news from the rest.
"This is really one of those instances where having mobile phones will help," the girl commented while biting her thumbnail -- Vanya, who had left almost an hour ago saying she needed to grab extra clothes, still nowhere to be found.
"Don't worry, Miss [Name], they'll be fine. They are equipped for these sorts of things," Pogo tried to reassure.
"Yeah, but still doesn't mean I can't not worry." She muttered as she paced through the room, not able to sit still due to nerves.
She heard the telltale signs of engines stopping at the front door and immediately ran straight to it, almost slamming it open as she saw Vanya closing the gate behind her.
[Name] slumped upon seeing her that Vanya comments, "They're still not here?" With [Name] shaking her head in defeat.
Unbidden, [Name] saw an outside view of a small motel in the middle of nowhere with Klaus suddenly appearing, disheveled and war-torn as he kicked and wrecked the briefcase that had brought him there.
"I know where he is."
**
Police were circling the place when they got there, people around them saying that apparently a shooting had happened as Vanya parked the car adjacent to the motel, waiting for Klaus to appear.
"Are you sure he's gonna be here?" Vanya asked, anxious.
"Yeah-yeah, I saw it earlier, probably just remembered now or something like that," she mused.
But [Name] knows that even she doesn't fully believe that. Because whatever that was, (a vision maybe?) wasn't a part of the show, or at least she didn't remember it being a part of the show. She felt like her mind's mixing both realities and now she can't differentiate between either.
"There!" Vanya suddenly called, opening the door and bolting towards Klaus who was sobbing, the girl following.
"Klaus!" Called Vanya, the seance jolting up to see the two rushing towards him. Vanya engulfed Klaus in a hug, [Name] following suit as the two females stayed silent while Klaus cried his heart out.
The girl couldn't help but cry as she felt her heart break at the absolute agony in Klaus' cries, knowing he had his heart broken at the war.

"It's gonna be okay," Vanya reassured, also crying with the two at the overwhelming emotions she had finally let out after being on pills for so long.
After a while and once Klaus' cries turned into hiccups, they broke their hug and looked at each other, laughing upon seeing each other's states.
"We look like a mess," Klaus commented with a chuckle, then gazing at his right as Ben agreed, "You do."
But his smile was short-lived as he remembered about Dave, Vanya noticing this and immediately standing up, not realizing they were kneeling at the floor when they cried.
"We should probably go home now, the rest would be worried." Vanya remarked, helping Klaus stand up. [Name] first grabbed the briefcase before following after them.
"Yeah.."
Vanya sat at the driver's seat while both [Name] and Klaus were on the back, the girl giving Klaus a side hug for comfort during the whole ride.
When they reached the academy, they noticed the car that the others used and was then engulfed by the worried siblings.
"Why the hell did you two followed?" Five snapped, not realizing the glum atmosphere surrounding the three.
[Name] gave him a glare for this. "I saw Klaus got back so of course we're gonna get him, now move." She replied in a clipped tone, giving Five the briefcase as she followed Klaus.
"You don't need to worry about me, lil angel. I'm gonna need some.. alone time," Klaus muttered once they entered the mansion.
The girl was about to protest, but upon seeing the exhausted state of Klaus, gave in.
"Okay, but if you need anyone, we're here, alright?" Klaus nodded in answer, walking up the stairs as the other siblings looked on in either worry or confusion.
"What happened?" Asked Allison in concern.
"He went time traveling," Five simply stated.
"Do you know what happened to him, [Name]?"
"I do, but we should let Klaus be the one to open up and tell all of you. It was.. devastating, what happened to him," the girl answered mournfully.
**
They waited until evening after everybody's done eating to ask Klaus what had happened. The seance was at the very least enthusiastic enough to tell them of the good times he had with Dave.

"We don't have time for this," Five grumbled, clearly itching to leave the room but was cornered when [Name] sat on the right arm of the chair he was sitting on.
"You need to learn how to savour the moment, Five. Days like these are quite hard to come by, especially with all of you being what you are." [Name] murmured, the others continuing to laugh at something Klaus said.
"But the apocalypse is in five days, four tomorrow!" He hissed, surprisingly keeping his voice low enough so the others wouldn't hear.
"Again, savor the moment. Because you always want to rush through things, you wouldn't realize you've lost something until it's already too late." She advised. "You wouldn't even have thought that lunch with your siblings when you decided to do time traveling will be your last. That it would be decades before you see all of them again, even years before you're able to eat a proper meal with them again." As she raised her eyebrows at him.
[Name] waited for a reply, but after a few moments, nothing came. He's mulling over what she had just said, knowing there was a time in the apocalypse when he hated himself for not staying even for a bit to finish what he ate, to talk with his siblings one last time.
He slumped in defeat, though she could tell he was still tense as he massaged his temples, knees bouncing in impatience.
"Want me to?" She offered, holding out her hands around his head. He only frowned in confusion causing her to roll her eyes and put her hands on his shoulders, turning him around so she could have a better angle.
[Name] then proceeds to put her hands on his temples, massaging gently. He was clearly tense at first, so she told him, "I used to do this for mom a lot when she's really stressed. It's a good reliever, you know?"
She felt him slowly melt to the touch, as he closed his eyes, feeling himself relax for the first time in his whole life. The girl was happy at this progress as she continued until she thought it done.
She stopped for a minute before finally weaving her hands through his hair, massaging the scalp alongside using her hand as a comb for his soft locks. She heard a soft hum of contentment coming from him causing her smile to widen a little more but didn't say anything to keep the comfortable silence between them.
Five didn't realize he was slowly leaning into her legs that was behind him, propped up on the sofa, as he felt absolutely reduced to butter by the gentle way she did it, the only sound he could hear was the seemingly distant murmurs of conversation from his siblings alongside the friction of his hair with her hands.
She continued through it, gently massaging his scalp as he tried his best not to make a sound to whatever pleasant feeling was rolling off of them.
Unbeknownst to the two, the siblings noticed them being trapped in their little bubble as Klaus snickered.
"Look at those two over there, having their little moment," he cooed.
"Shh, let them be. This might be our brother's only chance to get a girl," Diego joked, causing Allison to elbow him with raised eyebrows.
"They might hear you."
"This is the first time I've seen Five ever relax like that," Vanya mused.
"I'm pretty sure he had never done it even in those twenty-five years he's away from us," Diego quipped.
"Hey [Name], when you're done, can you do me, too?" Klaus asked aloud, causing the others to scold him.
"Klaus," they hissed.
[Name] looked up, surprised, and frankly forgot that they were there, but immediately smiled with a nod. "Sure, after I'm done with him."
Five tensed upon remembering where he was, standing up as he avoided his siblings' gaze, even after twenty-five years knowing that they would have teasing smiles etched on their faces. "I'm going to bed," he said in a clipped tone, teleporting away from everybody.
"Klaus," admonished Allison once he was gone, shaking her head in disapproval.
"Come here, Klaus," [Name] said, a little embarrassed but pretending she's fine as she made Klaus sit on the chair previously occupied by Five.
"Oh can I be next, too? My back hurts."
"Must be midlife back pain."
