Wei Ying felt like he was drowning. All his senses were numb, his limbs unmovable.
"Wei Wuxian!!!" A muffled voice yelled through the water. "C'mon sleeping beauty you've been asleep for a day!!"
A strong force pulled him to the surface of his mental ocean. He woke up gasping for air, hair whacking into his face.
"And he's up." The voice of his little brother said.
"Jiang Cheng? Wait- I tHoUgHT I dEiD" he yelped pulling at his hair.
"Yes you did, but guess what genius, your pregnant lover decided to basically go to hell and get you back." Jiang Cheng told him, raising his brows.
"I don't have a lover?" He questioned.
Jiang Cheng didn't answer and dragged him to a bathtub and pushed him in there.
"Hey!" He yelped.
"It'll explained later dumbass." Jiang Cheng said, rolling his eyes.
"And for your information I hate you at the moment." Jiang Cheng said smacking his head.
Wei Ying was about to retort, but seeing the unshed tears in his brother's eyes, he decided against it.
He quietly took his bath, revelling in the fact he could feel and see everything, the wooden side of the bath, steam rising from the water.
'Hopefully all would be explained later,' he thought, pulling himself together.

Jiang Cheng led him down a familiar path to the Jingshi.
"You're always getting yourself into trouble, and letting other people deal with it," Jiang Cheng said, annoyed.
Wei Ying paused, and looked at him apologetically. "Cheng, I know that I broke all my promises, and hurt you in a way that is unforgivable, but can you give me a chance to be the good brother I wasn't?" he begged.
Jiang Cheng turned his back on him, but Wei Ying could see that he was clearly shaking with sobs. He gently wrapped his arms around him from behind, and Jiang Cheng collapsed into him. "I HATE YOU, I HATE YOU..." Jiang Cheng sobbed, turning around and burying himself in Wei Ying's chest. He weakly hit him with balled fists, as he lost his ability to stand.

Wei Ying held him up as he sobbed and shook in his arms, comforting him to the best of his ability. He had to make up for the promises he broke in the past, as he hated seeing Jiang Cheng cry.
After a few minutes, Jiang Cheng pulled away and wiped his eyes with sleeve, sniffling. "Come, we have more important matters to attend to."
A few metres away from the Jingshi, he could hear happy laughter and babbling. Wasn't the Jingshi normally quieter than a grave?
Jiang Cheng knocked on the door. "Wangji!! I'm here with the piece of trouble!" he called. "HEY!" Wei Ying protested.
Lan Wangji's face appeared from behind the door. Was it just Wei Ying or was Wangji's face glowing? Wangji's face had a happy appearance as he ushered them in.
Wei Ying got a good look at Wangji and gasped. "W-wHAT YOUR STOMACH??!!!" he freaked.
"Sit down a-die" another voice sniggered. He almost got whiplash as he turned around. A teenage girl sat there, playing with two other kids, one that looked scarily like him, and a younger boy around 4 years old. Another girl sat behind her braiding her hair.
"W-WHA?? A-die?!" He was so confused. The girl grinned, and he was scared to realise that she looked exactly like him when he did that. And those features..... Her features looked very similar to someone else's.
"PLEASE EXPLAIN!!" he yelped.
—------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
He had fainted. How embarrassing. Look he didn't expect that he would be a father okay? Let him have his crisis.
His daughter, Yingyue (gosh he can see how much she resembles him) continued to laugh happily at him. The other kids didn't pay too much attention, and were too busy playing together. The other girl,(his daughter's betrothed. Sorry what?) smiled at him. And she was a goddess? They existed?? He felt so dumb now.

He looked at a nervous Wangji who slowly walked over to him. "Y-you really are..." he trailed off. Wangji just nodded and looked at him expectantly. 'H-HOW??!!' he screamed internally. Not that it bothered him. So he tugged Wangji into his arms, stroking his hair.
The door to the Jingshi burst open. Wei Ying looked up to see a very serious looking Lan Xichen glaring daggers at him. "YOU'D BETTER TAKE RESPONSIBILITY WEI WUXIAN!!" he threatened, seeing that he understood the situation. He nodded furiously, he was happy to take the responsibility, since he had loved Wangji since the first time he saw him. Screw that, he was over the moon.
"By the way.... I'm not technically a Jiang anymore." Jiang Cheng announced as Lan Xichen gave him a backhug.

8 153The Elemental Arena
*A Rational-Adjacent litRPG Survival Series.* The time for the trials has come, pitting the mortal species of the galaxy against one another. By completing challenges, clearing dungeons, and defeating rival species, the players may forge themselves stronger and smarter. But only one species will be declared the winner. Earth has finally qualified... ...and participation is mandatory. A twenty-nine year old data entry clerk works together with a group of internationally diverse players to survive. Learning synergistic skills and using teamwork, can humanity achieve an upset? If they don't, their lives are forfeit. Author's note: Chapters will be anywhere from 6k to 10k in words, varying based on the plot beats instead of specific word counts. Realistic actions and teamwork will be important aspects of my story. I'm trying something a little different in writing a realism focused litRPG, hoping to capture the essence of how real people would react to their situation. People are complex and don't always get along. I don't recommend starting the series expecting wish fulfillment tropes just because it's tagged litRPG. It's a survival story with the game settings on Hell difficulty. The plot hasn't gotten there yet, but in the future of the series I want to recreate my nostalgia of forty person raids on Ragnaros, but with the high stakes of boss battles in Sword Art Online. I also love puzzle rooms so expect one of those each book. Warnings: mild PG-rated language, graphic violence and gore, and graphic medical content.

I was an ordinary worker ant of the Kingdom, one of the millions populating a spread of land ten kilometers long. I had an ordinary life: I dug, I ate, and I slept; and a dream that was shared by all workers who wanted to live a life of adventure. I was on the last day of my mandatory community service, a day from becoming one of the harvesters --the crown jewel of our society-- when fate played its sick joke on me. I broke my mandible, lost my dream, and was almost forced into slavery as a result. That’s when she came into my life, a princess. She had no wings on her back, but the wings inside her were wider than the fairies that roamed the sky. She took me under her wing and populated my life with adventures and mysteries unreserved for a mere harvester. Life was good until we found termites sneaking into our territory. That’s when the adventures ended. She was mocked for calling the termites a threat. However, she remained determined to protect her kingdom, and I, to protect her. No matter the difficulties I remained by her side. Because we were a pair: a princess and her Royal Guard.
