《Mesmerizing Mr. Mafia》The New Mr. & Mrs. D'Amico

I screamed as loud as humanly possible, without a doubt waking up everyone that shared the hotel room with me, and maybe even a few people next door.

Alessandra was the only one who stayed unmoving where she was. Everyone else's heads popped up from underneath their blankets. Everyone else being Lilly, Taleya and Dominica.

"What?" Lilly screamed equally as loud as I did.

"I'm an idiot!" I said while grabbing a paper towel and rubbing ferociously at the white dress I had spilled some red drink on on my way to the bathroom. I seriously didn't want to be up this early, but when nature calls I usually didn't have a choice.

I was only making the stain worse.

"You're not an idiot," Taleya came over and pulled me away from the dress, "You're nervous and because of that, you're making everything worse. Geez, this isn't good," her words did nothing to sooth the hopeless feeling that came over me.

"It's ruined. No good," Dominica said while taking in the sight of the dress that I was supposed to wear tomorrow. "What are you gonna do?"

It was wrong, I know it was. She was just stating the complete obvious, but I sent daggers her way with my eyes, "I. Don't. Know!" I snapped.

Lilly gave me a funny look before pulling the dress away from me, "Chloe, calm down. We'll figure something out, don't worry."

I gave the three of them angry looks before grabbing the cell phone off the end table, slipping my shoes on and exiting the hotel room. I was in my pajamas but that was honestly the last thing I cared about.

Angelo's room was only a few doors down, but the walk seemed really long for some reason. I knocked a couple of times before checking to see if it was by any chance unlocked. It wasn't, so I kept on knocking. It wasn't long before he opened the door in a half awake, half asleep state. I quickly rushed into the room and shut the door behind me, wasting no time in crawling onto the bed fit for a king.

"What's wrong, Clo?" Angelo asked while tiredly joining me on the bed. I don't know what it was, but there was just something so attractive about him being half asleep. It was hella weird.

I grabbed the big blanket and threw it over both of our bodies. I rested my head on his shoulder and let one of my arms drape over him. This was comfy, I could sleep like this. "I have a confession," I said slowly.

"And..." He urged me to keep going, his eyes now closed. How was I supposed to know he wasn't about to fall asleep on me? I wanted to talk. "Keep going."

"I don't want to get married in front of everyone tomorrow. I want it to be small." I looked at the digital clock on the wall and realized that we weren't getting married tomorrow, we were getting married today. It was 3 am, only seven hours away from the ceremony.

He opened his eyes, only to give me one of the worst looks imaginable, "And why the hell not?" He sighed, "Chloe, this was so expensive. I need a good reason if I'm going to call it all off."

"I..." I thought about the five thousand dollar dress that I had just ruined back in my hotel room and decided that that probably wasn't what he wanted to hear right now, so I thought of a better excuse, "I'm worried about your dad showing up unannounced and ruining everything." It wasn't a lie, but it wasn't necessarily the truth either.

"Chloe..." He trailed off, obviously not sure what to say next. "Ugh...my money."

"Is that really all you care about? One of us could die! Why can't we just do what all elopers do, and take a fun trip to the courthouse?"

"That doesn't really fit my description of fun, but ya know, whatever floats your boat I guess."

"So, is that a no?"

"I guess not."

I decided that now would be as good a time as any to tell him about more of his wasted money, "Oh and...I'm gonna need something new to wear. I kinda spilled something on my other dress."

"You are going to be the death of me."

"Literally everyone and their mama is getting married today," Luca whined while coming back from checking the wait time for the thousandth time. "You know blondie, I see your point for not wanting to have a big wedding, but I think today of all days was just poor planning on your part."

"You just whine about everything, Luca," Alessandra said.

"The woman knows me."

I grabbed Angelo's cell phone off his lap and had him type in the password, so I could play whatever games he probably didn't have on his phone.

I wasn't surprised in the least to see that I would have to download my own games. I went for the classics like bejeweled blitz and candy crush. Man, that would look funny to whoever stumbled upon his unlocked phone.

"What are you doing?" Angelo asked as I went for a new personal record on bejeweled.

"Playing games, what does it look like?"

"It looks like downloaded crap that I don't want."

"Ooh, already fighting like a married couple, I see," Dom said while wrapping his arms around Lilly. "I wonder how long you'll actually be able to stand each other."

"I give it a month," Lilly chimed in.

"Years," Eleanor and Smith said in unison. "Let's hope it's forever though."

"How much longer?" Dom asked Luca. He wasn't being impatient about it though.

"They said it could be any minute. See, gattina, this is what happens when you don't schedule ahead of time. You make the rest of us wait."

"Does he complain about everything?" Angelo asked Alessandra. She rolled her eyes and nodded. "Figures. Let me play," he held his hand out. I finished the round up before handing him his phone back. It was on candy crush and he was inexperienced so I was just waiting for a rage quit.

He had twelve moves and a lot to do, "I don't understand this stupid game," he sighed, all of his moves coming to an end, "Did I win?"

"No."

"Shit."

I giggled a little bit as he kept trying to pass what could have been a fairly easy level.

"You guys," I looked up to see everyone out of their chairs and entering a room. "Come on," Luca urged, "The sooner we get in, the sooner we get out."

Angelo and I stood up and met Luca right outside the door. Angelo tried to walk into the room, but Luca stopped him and handed him something, "Just incase things get ugly," Luca said.

Angelo took the gun and tucked it into his slacks. I pretended like I didn't see any of that as they looked at me and instead of a confused stare, I offered a suspicious smile. Angelo grabbed my hand and led me into the room, Luca was a short distance behind us.

There was a man whom I'm assuming was the judge, sitting behind a large wooden desk, with two chairs in front of him. Alessandra, Lilly and Eleanor stood on one side of the desk and Luca, Dom and Smith stood on the other.

I took a seat in one of the chairs and Angelo took the other.

The judge wasted no time in talking, except I couldn't understand a word because it was all in Italian. I looked around the room and saw Eleanor and Smith looking equally as puzzled as me, everyone else just seemed really bored.

I wish I could be bored.

I sat intently for a few minutes, waiting until someone decided to translate. No one ever did, they just expected me to know what the hell was going on. So when it came time for me to talk, I was clueless and everyone was staring at me. "What?" I asked.

"I do or I don't," Alessandra said, "it's your turn."

"Oh. I do," I answered as the judge slid me a piece of paper and said something in his native language.

"Date and sign," Angelo said while pointing out a spot right next to his neatly signed name.

I took a pen and sloppily signed my name on the line.

"You can't go in there!" Someone shouted from outside the room.

Seconds later the door was kicked down and a man came in with a gun pointed towards any one of us. Angelo, the judge and I all jumped up.

Before I could even blink the intruder had aimed his gun at the judge and fired. I let out a scream and turned to face him, blood seeped from his face and I knew he was a goner.

Angelo took his gun out, and so did Dom. Luca tried to get everyone else out of the room, but only Eleanor and Alessandra made it.

"Chloe Cruise, right?" The intruder asked.

"Wrong!" Lilly snapped and reached for the paper I had just signed, "From here on out, she's a D'Amico. Also known as someone you probably shouldn't mess with it, but you already knew that, didn't you?"

"Lilly be quiet please," Dom said while ushering her to stand behind him. She put up a fight but she eventually stayed there. Her mouth usually got her in trouble with others, I learned that from Alessandra. I guess she was kind of like Dom in that sense.

"Well in that case," he lifted his gun up, but it wasn't pointed at my head, "This will only hurt a lot."

Two gunshots went off, Angelo shot the gunman right between the eyes and I was left wondering where the other one went.

I was shocked, scared even, as I looked down at my white lace shirt. It wasn't white anymore, it was now a deathly crimson color. I carefully put my hand over my stomach and looked up at Angelo, terrified.

This is what death feels like.

Angelo wrapped his arms around me just as I was about to fall. He moved my hand away and replaced it with his. He wasn't as careful about it as I was though, his hand pushed firmly down on my stomach, making everything that much more uncomfortable, "You're going to be ok, amore mia."

"I don't...feel...good," I cried as a sudden coldness came over me. My whole body went limp just before Angelo scooped me into his arms. "I'm going to pass out."

"No, don't do that. That's very, very bad."

My eyelids were getting too heavy though, and I succumbed to the darkness.
