The opening ends to the window overlooking Beacon Academy from the new room of Team RWBY, panning over to Weiss Schnee sleeping soundly in her bed. Her eyes flutter open and she stretches her arms above herself, yawning, while Ruby Rose, dressed in her strangely-colored school uniform, creeps up on her side and suddenly blows a whistle, causing Weiss to fall off the bed.

Ruby:Good morning, Team RWBY!

Down the hall we see team CAAT all getting into their uniforms as y/n and cloud are in the bathroom changing tifa puts her combat gloves on looks to Ada who is putting her sword on her hip and gives her a questioning look

Ada: what do you want tifa

Tifa: oh you know just wanna have some girl talk

Ada: No....

Tifa: oh thats too bad guess ill just have to throw away these shirtless pics of y/n then

Ada:

Tifa: what a shame *gets grabbed by Ada* oh my

After y/n and cloud walk out of the bathroom y/n grabs his sword and puts it on his left hip as cloud mounts his buster sword on his back

Cloud: guess were ready to go

Suddenly downt the hall they here running as team rwby and jnpr speed past

Tifa: how are we gonna get to class on time

Y/n: you guys can run I have my own way later skaters

Cloud: Y/N YOU BASTARD!!!!!

Tifa: *sighs and shakes head*

Ada: this is gonna be a long 3 years

In the courtyard, Professor Ozpin and Glynda Goodwitch watch the 3 teams hurry through the school. Glynda looks at her watch, and Ozpin simply sips his drink.

The sight of an axe-blunderbuss weapon pans down to the boards displaying various species of Grimm - King Taijitu, Death Stalker, Beowolf, Boarbatusk, Nevermore, and Ursa - behind an elderly teacher named Peter Port.

The members of RWBY/CAAT, seated on the front and second row, are in varying stages of interest; Blake Yang and cloud are sitting up and paying attention, Weiss and y/n are taking notes,as Ruby and tifa have their heads propped in thier hands as they takes a quick nap until they are woken back up by Port's bad joke, which receives a cricket-filled silence as a result.

Y/n: tough crowd

Port: Uhhhh… And you shall too, upon graduating from this prestigious academy! Now, as I was saying: Vale, as well as the other three kingdoms, are safe havens in an otherwise treacherous world! Our planet is absolutely teeming with creatures that would love nothing more than to tear you to pieces! And that's where we come in. Huntsmen! Y/n then leans forward and gives his big sister a smug look

Student:(raises his fist) Ayyyy-yep! (stands like this for a moment as everyone looks at him strangely before sitting down, embarrassed)

His words fade into the background (and a series of "blah"s) as y/n closes his eyes and focuses on kuruama until he finds himself in the tail beasts domain

Suddenly kurama walks out in its beast form as it looks down on y/n

Kuruama: what do you want boy

Y/n: I want to learn how to use that transformation we did during initiation

Kuruama: so you wish to use me as a weapon "like all the others except him"

Y/n: what of course not your a living being same as me and I don't see you as a weapon I see you as my partner my equal and a fellow member of team C(Y)AT so what do you say *puts fist up*

Suddenly Kuruama is incased in a red mist before getting smaller and slimmer?

Y/n: whoa......

Kuruama: this is my human form and also I'm a female so please no perving on me

Y/n: HEY IM NO PERV YOUR JUST PRETTY IS ALL

Kuruama: well then in order to control my power you must face the darkness within you but it seems our time together has ended till next time *kisses your cheek* my handsome fox~(her voice is akeno from highschool dxd)

Outside of y/n's head

Ada: hey y/n wake up class is over

Tifa: is he asleep

Yang: I got it *clocks you in the back of the head*

Y/n: AAAAAG MY HEAD WHAT THE HELL YANG wait where's ruby and Weiss

Blake: Weiss just stormed out and ruby went after her

[] mean Kuruama is talking to you telepathically

Kuruama:[I sense negative energy in the hall it might be your sister]

Y/n: "thanks Kuruama" I'll go check it out see you guys at the dorm *leaves classroom*

Weiss is still storming off, but Ruby turns a corner and manages to catch up with her.

Ruby:Weiss!

Weiss:(turning around) What?

Ruby:What's wrong with you? Why are you being-?

Weiss: What's wrong with me? What's wrong with you? You're supposed to be a leader, and all you've been so far is a nuisance!

Ruby:(scoffs) What did I do?

Weiss:That's just it - you've done nothing to earn your position! Back in the forest, you acted like a child, and you've only continued to do so!

Ruby:Weiss, where is this coming from? What happened to all the talk about 'working together'? I thought you believed in acting as a team.

Weiss:Not a team led by you. I've studied and trained. And quite frankly, I deserve better. (turns her back to Ruby, trying to reach out but dropping her hand with the following words) Ozpin made a mistake. (walks away as Ruby looks dejected)

Ozpin:(standing right behind a surprised Ruby with a coffee in one hand and his cane in the other as he gives y/n a nod as he goes to talk to Weiss) Hmm… Now that didn't seem to go very well.

Ruby:(looking doubtful, even on the verge of tears) Is she right? Did you make a mistake?

Ozpin:(laughing slightly) That remains to be seen.

Meanwhile with Weiss

We see Weiss sitting on a bench overlooking the sunset as until y/n walks over to her and sits next to her

Weiss: oh hey y/n

Y/n: Weiss what was that back there with my sister

Weiss:Well... I-I think I should have been the leader of Team RWBY!

Y/n: *jontron voice* well that's was a load of shit

Ruby:What do you mean?

Ozpin:I mean, it's only been one day. Ruby… I've made more mistakes than any man, woman, and child on this planet. But at this moment, I would not consider your appointment to leader to be one of them. (leans in so he can look more directly at Ruby) Do you?

Weiss:(now getting angry) Excuse me?!

Y/n: all im saying is that sure your an exceptional fighter and you are skilled but that skill is out matched by your shit attitude and snobby nature

Weiss: HOW DARE YOU I AM....oh my oum your right

Y/n: My point exactly. I see a girl before me who has spent her entire life getting exactly what she wanted.

Weiss:(crossing her arms, looking defiant) That's not even remotely true! (under the rose's gaze, she reluctantly relents) Well… not entirely true.

Ozpin: Being a team leader isn't just a title you carry into battle, but a badge you wear constantly. If you're not always performing at your absolute best, then what reason do you give others to follow you?

Ruby looks thoughtful with Ozpin's words, then smiles at him.

Y/n: So the cards didnt fall in your favor so what. Do you really think that acting like a spoiled little brat would cause wizard of oz to reconsider his decision?

(as Weiss finally calms down and looks at him again) So instead of crying about what you don't have, savor what you do. Hone your skills, perfect every technique, and be not the best leader, but the best person and teammate you can be.

Weiss smiles a little at the words of wisdom.

Weiss: thanks y/n I'll do that *walks off*

Y/n: heh atta girl

Ozpin then walks up to y/n with that same cup of coffee in hand

Y/n: so how did the talk with my sister go

Ozpin: I believe it went quite well and I don't see any negative in you choosing ruby as leader though lets not tell ms schnee that

Y/n: yeah......hey ozpin can I talk to you and in your office

Ozpin: of course my boy

They both walk off towards ozpins tower

Meanwhile

The full moon shines over the green lights of Beacon, and in the room of Team RWBY, the door opens and Weiss' shadow is seen against the hall's light. Blake is sleeping under the covers, Yang is spread out on her bed and snoring, and when Weiss lifts the blanket of Ruby's tent, she finds the occupant with her head resting on notes, a pencil in her hand, and open books all around her. Weiss, looking amazed at Ruby's determination, clears her throat and gently shakes the other girl awake, who takes a second to regain consciousness and start flailing in surprise.

Ruby:Weiss! I-I was studying, and then I fell asleep! I'm sorry…

Weiss places a hand over Ruby's mouth and puts a finger to her own so Ruby understands the need for lowering her voice. Weiss looks near Ruby's pillow and spots an empty Beacon coffee mug.

Weiss (lowering her hand) How do you take your coffee?

Ruby I… I don't…

Weiss (getting irritated) Answer the question!

Ruby:Uhh, cream and five sugars!

Weiss :(sighs) Don't move. (she ducks under to her own bed and comes up a moment later with a fresh cup, offering it to Ruby) Here.

Ruby:Um… Thanks, Weiss.

Weiss (smiles, then looks apologetic) Ruby, I think you have what it takes to be a good leader. (Ruby smiles appreciatively) Just know that I am going to be the best teammate you'll ever have! (they share a smile) Good luck studying! (ducks under, only to come up and point at one of Ruby's papers) That's wrong, by the way. (ducks under again, and her voice comes from the doorway this time) Hey, Ruby?

Ruby:Uh-huh?

Weiss: (stands in the door with her hand on the knob) I always wanted bunk beds as a kid. (she starts to close the door)

Ruby, grinning at the progress with her friend, goes back to her notes as scene fades to black as it transitions to ozpins office with glynds team strq and ironwood on a holographic call as they all stare at the young rose

Y/n: so why are you all here

Ozpin: *puts chin on hands* let me answer you question with a question what's your favorite fairy tale

Y/n adopts a look of confusion that quickly turns into one of shock as the scene goes to black and the credits roll
