《Pen Pals {MXTX}》22- Cang Qiong Shopping Mall (Part 2)

Subtitle: Lan Yi's Pet Shop.
"I'm Wei Ying, Wei Wuxian."
"Well, I'll be, Wei Ying-xiong, that was amazing of you!" the boy grabbed Wei Wuxian's hands, their eyes shining with enthusiasm.
"Ahahaha... Thank you, uh- Shi Qingxuan-xiong, maybe you should check your bag first, to see if anything is missing-?" Wei Wuxian suggested, a little weirded out. Usually, he was supposed to be the weird one, not the other person.
"Oh, you are right!" the boy exclaimed, quickly opening his bag.
"Oh, let's see... I got my phone here, car keys, oh haha I don't really drive tho, my brother usually drives me and my friends around... My coffee card, my gold express card... My VIP card for the hotel..."
Wei Wuxian's eyes grew wider and rounder as the boy listed all the contents in their bag.
This boy is rich! Turns out the thief knew what he was doing! Why, if Wei Wuxian wasn't a model citizen, he would have also chosen to rob this boy. But alas, he is a model citizen and therefore wouldn't.
"Yep! Everything is in here!" said the boy, satisfied.
"Right, now we call the local police," Wei Wuxian said, nodding towards the man whose face was planted on the floor.
"Okay!" the boy did as he was told.
Later, Wei Wuxian found himself alone holding a one hundred dollar bill.
Let's recap what happened:
"You are so cool, Wei-xiong, do you think you can teach me how to kick someone's ass? Oh my god, I can totally see us being best friends!" the boy beamed.
"Okay! I barely know you, and I literally just met you today, but let's become besties!" Wei Wuxian beamed back.
Of course, Wei Wuxian was being sarcastic. But who knew that the boy was serious and so Wei Wuxian found himself giving his Wechat to a complete stranger.
Afterward, his new friend- sorry, new best friend, Shi Qingxuan, hurried off saying something about it's time for rehearsal practice.
Before the then hasty boy dashed off, the boy pressed a hundred dollar bill into Wei Wuxian's hands, for Wei Wuxian to take as a token of gratitude and for Wei Wuxian to get himself a 'little' something, also leaving Wei Wuxian feeling dirt poor.

How come everyone he met is rich?
Wei Wuxian stood there, squatted next to a potted plant, wondering about life- sorry, wondering about how he should spend his newfound wealth.
He had completely forgotten what he was doing in the mall in the first place until-
"Oi, Wei Wuxian!" a cranky voice shouted.
"Jiang Cheng!" Wei Wuxian jumped up and spun around.
"What are you doing here? It took me forever to find you! Why didn't you wait by that blue column as we planned??" Jiang Wanyin demanded.
"Ay, you are the one who's late, why are you blaming me?" Wei Wuxian shot back. Wei Wuxian wanted to smack Jiang Cheng with his one hundred dollar bill.
"It's not my fault that I'm late! Some idiot spilled their coffee on me!" Jiang Wanyin snapped.
"Why are you mad at me then?" Wei Wuxian huffed, throwing his hands up in exasperation.
"I'm not! What are you talking about?" Jiang Wanyin asked.
"Oh right, right, my bad. I forgot you usually sound like that."
Jiang Wanyin rolled his eyes.
Then Wei Wuxian's face slowly shifted into a smile.
"Ay? Jiang Cheng, look over there!" Wei Wuxian exclaimed, pointing at a nearby store.
"What is it?" Jiang Wanyin asked.
"That pet store, look!" Wei Wuxian shook his hand.
"What??" Jiang Wanyin asked, irritated, squinting at the distance.
"Ayia, I always told you that you needed glasses, Jiang Cheng! Here, let's just go there," Wei Wuxian grabbed the other boy's hands without warning and ran towards the pet store.
"Wei Wuxian! Release me!" yelled Jiang Wanyin.
...
"Oh. My. Gosh. Jiang Cheng! They are so so cute!!" Wei Wuxian practically squealed with delight.
Wei Wuxian had his hands and face plastered on the window of Lan Yi's Pet Shop.
A little white bunny with a twitchy pink nose hopped back and forth within its area.
Jiang Wanyin looked away, feigning no relations with the other boy.
"Jiang Cheng, Jiang Cheng, aren't they cute!?" which Wei Wuxian is making it hard to do.
"..." Jiang Wanyin glanced over.
"Yeah, they are not bad. Now can you stop pasting your face on the window???" Jiang Wanyin hissed. Other people are glancing at them!

"Noooo, I need a close-up look at these cuties!" Wei Wuxian explained.
Wei Wuxian ooh and ah as he moved across the window.
"Ooh, Jiang Cheng! This little one has a white spot on their forehead-!"
"Ah, Jiang Cheng, look, this one is smaller than the others!"
Wei Wuxian loves rabbits. He watched a bunny's short and stubby tail move left and right before moving to the next cage.
Then he came face to face with a puppy. The puppy's tongue rolled, its sharp little teeth showing. Then the puppy licked the glass.
Although there was a window separating the dog and the boy, it was as if Wei Wuxian had seen a ghost.
He screamed and jumped onto Jiang Wanyin.
Clutching onto Jiang Wanyin, he cried out, "Xia si wo le, xia si wo le! Jiang Cheng, why didn't you tell me there's a dog???" Wei Wuxian looked up into Jiang Wanyin's light-colored eyes.
Wait a second.
Since when did Jiang Cheng have light-colored eyes????
Wei Wuxian whirled his head around. Jiang Wanyin stood by the side, a hand over his face.
Then Wei Wuxian looked up at the random guy he was clinging onto.
Then he looked back at Jiang Wanyin.
Wei Wuxian does this a few times, looking back and forth between Jiang Wanyin and the other boy.
Something flashes across the guy's eyes and Wei Wuxian couldn't tell if it was repulsion or just embarrassment but the boy pushed the other off and walked away, without a single word or a single expression.
"Uh- what happened?" Wei Wuxian asked, dazed, still looking at the stranger's back. Getting smaller and smaller.
"You want to know what happened? I'll tell you what happened! You. Screamed. Like. A little girl." Jiang Wanyin sneered.
"Oh, shut up, Jiang Cheng, we all know your scream is more high-pitched than mine," Wei Wuxian waved his hand, tiptoeing to keep his eyes on the boy that pushed him away.
"That guy's kinda weird. Why did he push me away and left without saying anything? He made it awkward!" Wei Wuxian finally lost the boy and looked back to Jiang Wanyin.
Jiang Wanyin rolled his eyes. "Um, you made it awkward. You were the one who suddenly jumped onto him! A complete stranger! I would kick you off and call the police if it was me!"
"You sound like I harassed him or something," Wei Wuxian rolled his eyes back at the boy.
Jiang Wanyin frowned.
"But that guy looks familiar."
Wei Wuxian: "Oh. Does he? He does look our age. Maybe he's someone who goes to our school?"
Jiang Wanyin shook his head.
"No, I haven't seen that guy at school. But he looks like that guy who spilled coffee on me this morning!" Jiang Wanyin's eyes widened in recollection.
Wei Wuxian looked at him.
"Uhhhhhh. Okay. Then why didn't he acknowledge you?"
Jiang Wanyin looked annoyed.
"It wasn't him who bumped into me! I just said he looks like that guy who bumped into me! These two guys are different."
(Wei Wuxian is entering confusion)
"Okay. You are saying that the guy that spilled coffee on you, looks like the guy that I accidentally, accidentally mind you, jumped on, they looked the same but are not the same???" Wei Wuxian squinted.
Jiang Wanyin frowned again. "Yeah. It's like the guy who spilled coffee on me was more of a... people person. He even tried to give me his jacket after spilling coffee on me. He even tried to put it on me!" Jiang Wanyin shuddered.
Wei Wuxian: "..." (bruh I see a free jacket)
Jiang Wanyin then looked at Wei Wuxian.
"The guy you clung to seems like someone who hated being touched by people. Therefore he pushed you off and walked away."
Wei Wuxian nodded slowly. Then he clapped his hands.
"Wow, Jiang Cheng, you sounded like a detective just now!"
Jiang Wanyin rolled his eyes.
