I'm in class. The lecture is about modern architecture in scandinavian countries. I'm sitting next to Imani and we're passing notes.

She slides the paper to me.

I: Any updates on your not-boyfriend?

I give her a look and write:

I start writing.

When class is over she's walking me to the bus and rambling about what I just wrote

My backpack gets thrown into a corner. I plop down necxt to Izzy and take the coffee cup from his hand.

He laughs

"Long day?".

I nod and swallow

"Yeah, and I got a ton of homework too. Two papers on Scandinavian styles".

"Damn"

Izzy pats my back

"Is this a bad time to tell you the guys are coming over for practice tonight?".

I put the mug down

"No it's fine. I'll just keep my door closed and use you guys as background music for studying".

"That's my girl"

Izzy gets up and grabs his cigs. As he walks past Duff's door he bangs on it

"Smokebreak Duffo!".

Duff swiftly opens up and they head to the balcony.
