《Blind As a Bat [1st book complete]》The Club's Double Trouble

The club was just starting to really fill with people, the pounding music making it easier yet harder to navigate. I could better sense the dimensions of the building itself and larger bodies of people, but it was harder to hear separate voices, heart beats, and individuals themselves. It had taken me a long time before I was able to actually handle being in the club for even the shortest periods of time. But it was a necessity, being the safest and easiest way to hunt on our territory.
Eventually I figured out how to focus the music from actual sound to vibrations instead. While it still ended in me having a nasty headache for a few hours after, the ability still left my brain intact and able to function to do what I needed- to feed. I knew that the bottled blood could only sustain a vampire for so long, and the regular food only filled one's stomach, not actually easing the true hunger and need. I was getting close to the point where it wasn't enough, meaning that if I wasn't successful in the next couple of days, I would have to go to my parents for assistance. Again.
I grimaced at the thought. It had been at least a month since I last saw my parents, and while I loved them in a way I couldn't help, nothing but a searing pain was left after each interaction. They both had difficulty just being around me for the shortest periods of time, father with barely contained anger and distaste while mother always had a voice of pity tinged with something else I could never put my finger on. While I could never fully understand all their emotions connected to me, I knew none of them were ever anything indicative of love or actual caring. I was an embarrassment. I was a stain that could not be rubbed out, only cut away and left with the other tainted scraps. I really didn't want to have to incense them more by having to help a son that couldn't even feed himself as even an elementary schooler could. I was years past the age where the baby plasma teeth have already long since been replaced with adult fangs.
I could count on both hands the number of times we interacted in the last four years. The last month had occurred because a gathering of the whole nest had been announced. It was expected that families come and clump into their own units until the formalities and speeches ended with everyone then allowed to mingle. I was always expected to leave at that time. It was always awkward and upsetting for them whenever this occurred. Luckily, it wasn't as bad as it used to be now that they had a child they could actually enjoy, doting on her with pride and love.
I was nearing twelve when I had been moved to the upper floors from the catacombs where actual families lived, citing that I got lost too often and it would be easier on me because of my 'condition'. It was around a year or so later when they had their pride and joy. I would guess she was now about four, and still probably had no idea that I was her actual brother.
I sighed, rubbing around my sunglasses from under my eyes to the bridge of my nose. Right now was probably the best time to hunt with much of the shadowed corners still vacant yet enough people to mask that anything more than 'necking' was occurring. I had stopped momentarily toward the edge of the main dance floor, smaller specialized ones branching off from this main one. I had already picked out the perfect spot to take my conquest to, now all I had to do was find him or her. It was easier to navigate around inanimate objects than animate ones, so I was trying to be careful not to knock into people too much.

"Hey, watch where you're going, you weird sunglasses fucker!" Someone I had literally full-body banged into yelled angrily over the pounding music. This was exactly what I had been trying to carefully to avoid. He pushed me a bit, but not too hard, only hard enough to make me step back a few paces further away from him and the dance floor.
I took a couple more steps with my hands up in a placating manner, frowning in confusion, "Sorry! You're just so quiet."
The person's voice was closer now, meaning he or she had stepped closer to me, "That's what eyes are for! We were right in front of you!"
My frown deepened. Two people? I hadn't been able to sense the first one come closer, and hadn't even known there was a second one. It was like there was a blank space where they were supposed to be, "Maybe if you took off those shitty dime-store sunglasses, you'd be able to actually see what's right in front of your face," a similar voice a little to the left of where the other voice had been spoke up.
"Can't. Wouldn't help any even if I did, sorry."
"Oh, and why the hell not?" One of them snarled, their face now much closer, my personal space greatly diminishing.
"Because I'm blind," I said in a lower tone, shifting my head a little down and to the side. I had unconsciously stuck my hands into my pockets when I said it, and quickly took them out, being careful not to fidget. When in such a position, it was never a good idea to fidget; it only let them know what they were doing had an affect. I had finally caught the slightest, almost watered down whiff of one of them, confirming them to also surprisingly be vampire, though the smell quickly evaporated in the claustrophobic and sweaty room.
The two were silent for a moment, and the fairly blank space space where they should be made me shiver at its eeriness. I tried harder to pick out something that would place them as actually residing in the space, "You're blind? Never heard of that before."
"Were they injured?"
"They should heal eventually."
I didn't even try to place which said which, though i did note that one had a slightly lower and a little more gravelly voice. I felt it was only right to be truthful. They were vampires, and with how weak I was, it wouldn't be safe to make them even angrier at me," I was born this way."
Another long moment ensued, and I couldn't help but take an involuntary step back. Why? Not even I could answer that question, because I didn't feel any malice coming rom them, and yet my spidey sense was telling me that something insidious had taken residence in the air around me. The heat from the many bodies around did nothing to keep the chills now running up and down my body. It was not the type of chill caused by the cold, after all.
My skin pimpled as the little hairs stood up on my skin. I knew they had gotten much, much closer to me. Their voices confirmed the feel I got as I felt a hand on each of my shoulders, and when they spoke, their voices told me they were close enough that I could easily hear them clearly even were they to whisper in a wind tunnel.
"You are quite the interesting creature," The person on my right almost purred. I could feel something like a smile in his or her voice. The operative word being 'something like'.

"We know someone that would love to collexsss-," I felt something shift behind my back and a shift of the person on my left's hand, causing them to smear part of what they said, "meet you."
I began shifting away, "Uh, thanks but I'd rather not. I already have plans and my friends are gonna be meeting me here soon."
Their hands tightened a little, not hurting just holding more sturdily before both simultaneously slipped to different areas. One was now positioned around my waist with, by the feel, their other hand clasping my right arm so it was against them in such a way that I couldn't move it an inch. It didn't help that I was also pretty much as weak or weaker than a regular human. The other side's hand shifted to my opposite shoulder, with their other hand doing the same to my left arm. My eyes widened in surprise and true fear. What were they doing?
I was so confused that I wasn't able to tell which direction they began to move in. I tried to plant my feet or shift away; do something. They were not only too strong, but able to keep me from really moving my legs or putting up much of a fight with how they walked. I couldn't fathom how they could so easily control all my movements. I could finally feel that we were near a wall and the vibrations alluded to the shape of a large door. There were several strategically placed exits throughout the building, more than necessary to keep with fire and building codes. I tried to yell or attract attention at this point, but the one on the left whose arm was along my right shoulder grabbed my head along the jaw so his or her arm almost wrapped around my head and began kissing me, swallowing each of my protests. I became truly frightened, not even knowing that it was possible for my fear to climb even higher.
At this rate, I would be taken against my will to who-knew-where. If my fear hadn't swamped everything else, I might have felt angry and frustrated as well. I was so distracted by all that was happening that I hardly noticed when we were at the door and momentarily stopped.
For most people... Okay, for most this wouldn't have even happened, but for those of you who feel it may possibly happen in your future, I can tell you that this was ten times worse for me than any average person in my position. Simply, I was not used to so much physical or emotional stimulation. I was usually forgotten, ignored, or, in plain terms, beaten. Those didn't require much emotional attachment nor prolonged physical interaction, and my responses to these were more logically driven than anything else. Like thinking how to get away with the least number of scrapes, or focusing more on my inner thoughts and observations than assimilating any events outside my person.
In comparison, the stimulation was enough to short circuit me. I could feel them holding me down to the whorls on their fingers. I could feel every whisper of movement around them, now just barely able to place them as more than an empty space... But only because they were. So. Close. So close to me and touching me. Each knock against my legs keeping me from pushing against them, every shift they caused of my shirt against my skin, and every moment of their invasion of my personal space. And then there was a slight pain and pressure as my jaw was grasped and the shift of my hair as an arm brushed against it. And then lips. I had never felt something like this on my own lips, and it wasn't just the lips...
No, my lips we almost fondled by the other's. Nibbling, sucking and licking. I felt it, the tongue on my lower lip that then ran along the seam of my lips. I felt slight pressure, but I refused its wet request for access. The hand along my jaw gave me no choice, after it became obvious that I would not willingly accede. My eyes watered slightly as the pressure on my jaw increased and forced my mouth open. After the first few sucking licks, I tried to bite at the invader, even at the damage to my own mouth, but the hand along my jaw made it impossible for me to put even a nominal amount of pressure into closing my jaws. Utterly useless. I was utterly useless and could feel myself fall into shock and shrink back into myself, hardly able to pay attention to my surroundings anymore.
"Excuse us," The right one said while I continued to be kissed, depleting my oxygen supply. We still didn't move forward.
"Can't do that," A low and rumbling voice belatedly reached my ears, able to slice through a little of the haze and oxygen deprivation.
"What? And why can't we leave?"
"Because of that between you two," He rumbled in reply, his voice making me slightly shiver as it boomed from above.
"Hey, my friend is just drunk from those bloody Mary specials. We're just taking him out for some fresh air... And maybe a little fun," The one on my left said when he finally left my lips, jaw still held tight in his grasp. I could feel a grin in his voice, and took a deep breath to try and say something, but was once more silenced by lips on mine, and the hand tightened until my jaw creaked to keep me silent when I tried to vocalize anything.
I heard a huff from the guy in front of us before the person on my right said, "What can I say, he likes it a little rough, " His or her voice changed into a more serious tone, "Now, if you would please step aside, we would like to getting going."
I listened as the guy released his arms from their position crossed in front of him, bringing them down and shaking them out slightly, "And I won't let you pass until you three separate."
They both growled in response, their growl growing when the guy whistled so shrilly that nearby vampires could easily hear it. The one on the left released my lips once more, and I felt them both turn to face each other. That was when the shit exploded and decided to rain chunks everywhere.
Before I knew what was what, the person to my right released me but roughly pushed me away and I heard the growls as he or she probably pounced at the person that had been guarding the door and refusing our exit. If it weren't for my position, I would have probably been feeling more grateful, but I was still stuck in, 'they're trying to kidnap me,' mode.
When 'right' had pushed me, 'left' took the opportunity to jump farther to the side with me, adjusting so that 'left' could fully embrace me to where my arms were pinned to my chest and the angle kept me from being able to set my feet on the floor well enough to create any traction. This also denied me any ability to kick well or in a way to do much of anything. My eyes filled and teeth gritted at my helplessness. Blind, weak and useless.
'Left', from the sound of it, grasped onto something wooden, using it to help thrust us at an angle not covered by the large guy now being preoccupied by 'right'. I could feel the cool sucking air as we neared the door that lead to a short hall and finally out of the club. It was at this moment that we went in the opposite direction. Thankfully, we were thrown back away from the door, then knocked into something else that thrust us off back even further from the door and toward where two walls met. my lower back and butt hit the wall, my hip and left leg having skid along the floor. I had placed my walking stick, shortened so it was no more than two feet long into a pocket I had a tailor sew into a few of my pants. It sucked that it was so close yet impossible for me to reach. I bit my lip as 'left' scraped into my right shoulder with his free one, causing me to hiss and blood, from the feel, to seep into my clothes.
I couldn't tell what happened after that, but I remember 'left' had kissed my jaw and whispered, "Later," to me. I was now sitting on one of the built-in counters along the wall near one of the bars with at least one of what I could only guess as bouncers guarding me. From the scent, I sluggishly could tell that they were from one of the families in my nest, though I was a little too out of it to sift through my memories of which unit they were part of. It took a little for my brain to catch up and realize that the scuffling sounds had disappeared.

8 220Descendants of Cosmia
Reefa, Wellor, Rozo and Auri are four teenagers trying to get through life living in a village surrounded by the barren sands of the Hariq Desert; a village isolated from the walls of the 9 Monarchs of Cosmia. The world that lies beyond the walls involves the social segregation between humans and Haaras. Haaras are people with the ability to control elements of water, air and earth, whilst humans cannot obtain this power at all. Reefa had always thought of herself to be a human with no type of elemental wielding. However, after many reoccurences throughout her childhood in which she hears the voices of people that speak in the future, she has doubts about who she really is inside. The same phenomenon happens when she is 15 years-old, but this time the voices she hears alerts her of a future attack that will happen to the people of her village. When the time had come, Reefa and her friends escape their predicament and travel to the east towards the land of dragons known as Tetranazia. Bearing in mind the last words her aunt told her with a heavy heart, she must protect her friends from the dangers ahead and venture into the walls to search for the answers of the attack. This is an original English light novel (OELN). There will be several visuals of characters and world-building as you read this novel. The story's genre is mainly Shonen-influenced Josei and Fantasy. Do note that the story is slow-paced in development, so it might not be to your liking. I'll be updating 2 new chapters every month on the 25th (SGT).(I'm doing it monthly because I have to consider the pile of college workload I have (;_;) and I'll need extra time on drawing the illustrations) Occasionally, I'll do Bonus Releases, where I release more than 2 chapter in the next monthly update Feel free to give me feedback on my story. I will very much appreciate it! (ノ´∀`) I created this story on Scribble Hub, so you can also check it out over at their platform.
