《Only Mine (Kagehina) (Kageyama x Hinata)》Chapter 3

Hmmmm
Banana or pineapple?....
I'll just get the milk. Kageyama entered the appropriate numbers on the vending machine and soon enough he reached out for his favourite cartoon milk. He stabbed the top of it with his straw and proceeded to enjoy his drink like he always did at the end of school.
Most of the students were already making their way out of the school so the halls were pretty empty. Today there was no practice so Kageyama was prepared to make his way towards the exit of the school and as usual wait for his beloved friend.
Making his way through the empty halls with an occasional person passing him. His eyes followed each passing human, analysing their movements just like he did during one of his games. He sucked on his straw until he finished his drink and threw it away, although it didn't take long to finish it all.
It was rather quiet after school, maybe a bit of murmur from classrooms, or a little chatter from friends but nothing too special. However whilst coming closer to the end of one of the hallways two voices became much louder the closer he got. He could definitely recognise one of the males higher pitched voice.
It was Hinata.
But who was he speaking to and about what? Kageyama decided to walk closer curious to what he might discover.
The closer he came the more he could understand what the two voices where taking about.. wait no.. arguing about?
The now slightly raised voices persuaded Kageyama to quicken his pace, eager to make sure everything is okay. Hinata's voice sounded discomforting like he was in distress. Kageyama didn't like that. Even when he argues with Hinata it doesn't sound like this, his voice doesn't sound like it's hurt, unlike now.
He turned around the corner and faced the situation that was in front of him. He didn't know the kid Hinata was taking to, although he was a first year so he still wouldn't have known many people. He looked to be similar hight to Kageyama, maybe a bit shorter. His hair was blond and wavy parted in the middle yet still short so you could still see his ears.

Hinata was facing towards Kageyama meaning he spotted him as soon as Kageyama turned the corner. Hinata's face was clearly tense, he could tell that Hinata was for some reason upset and that probably evolved from the conversation he is having with this strange kid. Hinata looked exhausted, they have probably been fighting for some time now. Although Hinata's face was untouched, no bruises, no blood. That's good, he didn't do anything to him. Kageyama could feel a slight relief, for some reason he felt very protective over his best friend and would never forgive himself if something happen to his Hinata.
"What's going on here?" Kageyama spoke out in his normal calm voice, trying to pin point what is going on in this situation. He has a little frown on his face indicating he wasn't happy with the tone of the unknown guys voice. His voice was gentle yet stern making himself assertive.
With a little jump the kid turned around to face Kageyama, surprised that someone found them as most of the school's students already left.
Chuckling to himself the kid spoke out, "Oh! So your boyfriend came to rescue you?" He turned back to Hinata at who the question was directed at. Hinata and Kageyama were taken back by that response. Boyfriend? They had a moment where their eyes met, both a little flustered but shaking it off before anyone realised.
"He's not my boyfriend!" Cried out Hinata trying to stand up for himself but it was to no good. With the tone he said it in, it didn't feel at all convincing sending the kid into more laugher. This irritated Kageyama even more, he could feel his palms starting to sweat holding back to what he wanted to do next to that annoying brat.
"So you're short, have orange hair, AND you have a boyfriend?" Laughed out the kid, holding his stomach. Hinata opened his mouth to say something back but nothing came out, his voice gave up on him and he could feel tears building up in the corner of his eye. He looked down at the floor he was standing on, hurt by the words spoken by the bully. He wasn't wrong, well maybe the boyfriend part, but he was very short which was a disadvantage to him. As much as Hinata tried to overcome that obstacle and carry on doing doing what he loves which is playing volleyball, he just agree that he needs to put more effort into practice just because he is indeed shorter then most of his teammates. And his hair? He didn't mind the colour of it. He thought it was actually quite unique yet the words the kid said still hurt like a burn mark left on your chest.

"What did you just say?" Kageyama spoke out, now understanding the situation in front of him. This lowlife was bullying Hinata for no reason. Kageyama could feel how his body was heating up from the anger that was boiling inside him.
"You heard me." Turned around the kid with a smug face now facing Kageyama who's eyes turned red with anger. This was the moment Kageyama could clearly study his face, he won't forget this face, and he won't get away with this so easily.
Suddenly, Kageyama walked closer to the kid and grabbed him by the front of his shirt, slightly lifting him off the ground and looking him straight into the eyes making sure that every word he has to say now will definitely understand very clearly. As much as the kid didn't expect this from him and was slightly surprised he never got rid of his stupid smile. It was all a game to him, he was trying to see how far Kageyama would go.
"Leave him alone and never speak to him again." Kageyama almost whispers as their faces where barely touching. Kageyama's voice is quiet yet it sends a shiver down Hinata's back, he's never seen him so mad before, he really didn't know what would happen next. He could see a tiny vein popping through his forehead making him look even more terrifying than he was before. Hinata felt his heart racing, he couldn't tell if he was eager to see how this will unfold or if he just wanted it all to finish.
Kageyama let go of the boys shirt placing him down on the floor again. As he was about to turn around and leave the scene, a fist swiftly landed on Kageyama's face leaving him shook. The only other thing that's ever hit him in the face was a volleyball, no one has ever punched him before which only encouraged the rage building inside of him.
At this point Hinata was trembling with fear of what might happen next, that kid just punched Kageyama in the face. It was so fast that he hardly saw it happen. It was like it all happen in a blink of an eye.
Kageyama lightly touched the spot of impact feeling for the tingly sensation he feels around his eye. His face scrunched up as if he was trying to show his fangs and pushed the kid against the wall holding him in place. He wasn't going to let some random kids bully his friend and then have the audacity to punch him.
He pulled back his hand like as if he was about to spike except he turned his hand into a fist and landed a punch on the kid making his face instantly bleed. "Ouch, get off me!" Yelled the kid at Kageyama, but he didn't listen, he punched him once again with all his might, making sure the kid would learn his lesson.
If it wasn't for Hinata tugging on his shirt from behind him he didn't know how long he would keep punching him but as he turned around to see Hinata's sparkling eyes about to cry he has no choice but to stop and make sure that Hinata was alright and to take him away from his Bully.
Finally Kageyama let go of the bloody kid and he dropped to the floor, holding his face. Not laughing anymore, probably really regretting messing with the schools setter.
"Come on let's go." Kageyama spoke out to Hinata starting to move towards the exit again. Hinata still couldn't get himself to speak a word so he just nodded in approval and started following Kageyama.
