I woke up with my phone buzzing. I look at it and it says that I have a two texts from Y/BF/N. I click it and unlock my phone.
They both said "Wake up!!" in all caps. I texted back let her know I'm up. She said to open the door.
I got out of bed and unlocked the door. She came in and closed the door really fast.
"Why did you slam the door ?" I asked Y/BF/N.
"I was banging on your door and some people came out to look."
"Ah, ok. Why were you banging on my door anyways?"
"I wanted to wake you up. It's almost 1:30 p.m."
"Really?!? I slept for that long?"
"Yup."
There was a long moment of silence, but Y/BF/N broke it.
"Want to go out and get brunch?"
"Sure, sounds great."
"Ok I'll get dressed and you should too."
"I will."
Y/BF/N left my room. I walked to the bathroom, brushed my teeth, took a shower, and got dressed.
I walk down to the lobby and waited for Y/BF/N. I put my hand in my pocket and felt something.
I took it out and it was the piece of paper Cody gave me.
I decide that while waiting for Y/BF/N that I would decide to call him.
I added his phone number to my contacts and called him. It rang three times then went to voicemail so I decide to leave him a voicemail saying who it was.
A few minutes late Y/BF/N came down.
"Are you going to call the Uber?" I asked her.
"No, cause I thought you were."
"Well, first we need to figure out where we're going, then you call the Uber."
"Only if you let me use your phone."

"Fine."
We figure out where we were going to go and then I handed Y/BF/N my phone.
Y/BF/N opened it went to the Uber app and called them.
Y/BF/N was about to close my phone when Cody texted me. I tried to grab my phone back, but Y/BF/N moved away from me.
"Who is Cody?" Y/BF/N asked me.
"None of your business that who."
"Fine, then I will just texted him that he has the wrong number."
Y/BF/N started typing something.
"Tell me who Cody is or I will send this text."
I was contemplating on whether I tell Y/BF/N or not.
"Five," Y/BF/N started counting.
"Four,"
"Three,"
"Two,"
"On-"
"Okay, I'll tell you, but not right now. Too many people around."
"Fine, then text it to me."
"Alright, give me my phone then."
"Fine."
Y/BF/N gave me my phone and I texted Y/BF/N that Cody is Cody Bellinger.
Y/BF/N looked at her phone for awhile then said, "WHAT, REALLY?!!?"
"Shh, I don't want to make a scene."
"WHAT, REALLY!?!" Y/BF/N half yelled and half whispered.
"Yes, really now come on, our Uber is outside."

8 127A Prose of Years
For decades, spiritualist Evert Kallstrom and his team have joined in humanity’s millennia-long fight against the beasts. Wielding their weapons and their ki, they fought and killed these great threats to civilization. And yet, despite their efforts, humanity was losing traction in the war. In the last fifty years alone, more cities had been overrun than in all of known history. While most thought the great beasts natural, a few knew the terrible truth. They were the product of a dark lord, who desired neither fame nor wealth nor power. Instead, his sole purpose was the genocide of humanity. While their peers dithered, a small faction of the strongest mankind had to offer—including Evert Kallstrom and his team—set out towards the Deadlands to find and confront this dark lord. After weeks of travel, twenty-one spiritualists found themselves approaching an ancient fortress wherein rested a being known only as the Eastern Guardian. All they found was death. But death has other plans for Evert. Evert bolts awake in his 16 year old body near his hometown, decades in the past. He is confused, poor and weak. But with grit, sweat, and years of experience, he won't let the future repeat itself. That level of strength won't be enough by itself (it wasn’t last time) and victory is hardly assured (he’ll need to reach farther and higher than he ever did), but Evert refuses to squander a second chance. [Other tags: First Person POV, Hard Magic, Faulty Memory] Volume 1 is complete and has been fully released. My current intention is not to write any sequel volumes. That said, I have also released appendices (SPOILERS) that cover the worldbuilding and future story-that-never-was. Comments suggesting fixes for grammar, misspellings, etc. appreciated. Note: If you came here from Candlelit Lives, these stories have nothing in common.

Parallel universes exist. Ten years ago, a terrorist organization called Liroli waged an all-out war against the World Order, bent on obtaining the means to travel between these parallel universes. Although the war ended with the government's victory, it was not without consequences. A poisonous element known as Lorine began leaking from the other worlds, bringing a plague that wiped out a third of humanity — the infamous May Death. Those infected gained strange abilities, in exchange for their certain death in a year. To counter the great plague that threatened humanity's survival, the government launched the World Restoration Project: gathering those infected and sending them into Lorine-polluted parallel worlds to seal the leaks between them. But it isn't that easy a task, as many dangers lurk behind these worlds, while those infected must deal with their own looming deaths. This is the story of Jack Waterfelt, the only human in the world immune to the May Death, and the 43rd Sealing Squad.

Its a very well defined formula: the world goes through ridiculous shift where the laws of physics go belly up while everyone gets a videogame status. the hero adapts to the system,
