I watched Katie walk around one of the houses we're looking at. She wasn't too keen on moving, and she still doesn't know how she feels about it. But it's definitely happening.

My lease runs out in two weeks.

This house was in a nice neighborhood downtown, it was a three bedroom two bath and the outside was blue. It had big trees in the yard and a beautiful front porch. And a back yard where Katie could play.

"What do y'all think?" My realtor asked us. Katie walked back in, "I like it." I smiled at her answer. She didn't like the other two. "I like it too. I think it's got enough space, more than enough actually." I said, looking down at Katie.

And that was it, the house was ours, well, mine legally. After that we drove home in silence, Katie starred out the window as we passed all the big houses. "I wanna get a job." She said out of no where. I glanced over at her and back to the road. "Okay...why now?" I always told her that she didn't have to have one, and I was completely fine with it. "I'm bored. You have a job, and I know your okay with me just staying home but I want to do something while your gone at work. And I wanna make new friends." I nodded my head. "Okay well, if that's what you want we can talk about it. How about when we move into the house you start applying at places close by?" She agreed and i placed my hand on her thigh as I drove the rest of the way home.

We had already begun packing, so all we needed were a couple of days to finish up and get someone to help us bring it all over to the new house.

Marlo offered to help, so her and Kaiden came over and surprised Katie. They played while me and Marlo brought boxes down to the moving wav. "When are y'all gonna get married?" Marlo asked as I shoved a box to the back. "You know, I'm not really the marrying type..." I started saying.."But I could see myself marrying Katie. I can't imagine myself with anyone else, I need her. I really do." I said while we walked back up the stairs. We were almost finished, we just had our coffee table and two more boxes and that was done. Katie sat in the middle of the living room floor, I could tell she was upset. I let her be, knowing she'll talk to me about it later on tonight when Marlo and Kaiden were gone.

Katie played on her phone on the drive to the new house, it was about 25 minutes away from the apartment. When we got there i grabbed her hands and she looked at me. "I know this is a big change, it's a house, it's bigger, a lot nicer than the studio. And I know that this might be a hard adjustment on you. I just want to let you know, I love you. I always will, and I'm so happy that we're taking bigger steps into our future." She smiled and nodded her head "I know mama." I kissed her and we got out the car.

Marlo and Kaiden helped us bring everything inside and then we all exchanged goodbyes.

I set up our bed frame and put everything together, the mattress and the comforter set.

One of the main things I love about this house is our bathroom, it's huge, it's got a garden tub and a walk in shower, two sinks, a mirror that takes up the whole wall in front of the sinks. It's beautiful, the whole house is beautiful honestly. And there's two extra rooms, a guest room and an office. There was also an attic I was planning to fix up into Katie's play room, it was a surprise.

After we got settled in I ordered Chinese food, it's one of our favorites. I set the food on the coffee table and grabbed us some water bottles before we sat down. Katie was watching Greys anatomy on her tablet and I watched it with her as we ate. "Can I have a dumpling?" She asked as she picked her chopsticks up, "of course." She reached across and grabbed a pan fried dumpling, she doesn't like the steamed ones. She dipped it in the sauce and took a bite, I smile as I watched the sauce drip down her chin. I grabbed a napkin and wiped it off.

We ate until our stomachs hurt and then watched greys on her tablet. She started rubbing her eyes and I called bedtime. "We've got a lot of unpacking to do tomorrow." I told her as she protested against bedtime. She gave in and I grabbed her hand, walking her to our bedroom. She put on a big t shirt and her pull up without fighting with me and got into bed, I climbed in with her and she waited for me to settle down before clinging to my side. I wrapped my arms around her, scratching her scalp and kissing her forehead as hummed our song. She stayed awake for a while, just looked up at me as I scratched her head. But eventually she closed her eyes and a little while after that I could hear her soft snoring. I kissed her forehead once more before I situated us in a more comfortable position, holding her from the back as she hugged onto my arms tightly in her sleep. I laid down, my body pressed against hers and laid my head on my pillow, I closed my eyes and thought about how much we have to get done tomorrow, we have to unpack, go grocery shopping, and on top of that I'll have a little girl to watch after.

It's gonna be a very long day.

I woke up in the middle of the night to Katie thrashing around in our bed, it took me a few moments to realize that she was having a seizure. I hurried and rolled her onto her side, "it's okay honey, it's okay." I was whispering as I reached over and grabbed her phone, I dialed 911, "my girlfriend is having a seizure, we're at 5438 hunterwood drive." Katie's body slowly stopped seizing, she was whimpering and moaning, I pushed her hair out of her face and reassured her that everything was going to be okay.

She hadn't had a seizure in over a year, so I was definitely confused to say the least. The paramedics drove us to the closet hospital and they got us into a room immediately.

They had a neurosurgeon come and take a look at her, did a work up and a head CT and then brought her back down. She slept through most of it. I sat next to her and laid my head down on the hospital bed as she slept.

I waited for hours for results, "she is okay, there's nothing to worry about, it might've been stress induced. But we'll keep her for about a day to make sure and then discharge her." I nodded my head and they left the room. I leaned back in the chair and looked at her, pale, her lips were blue and I could see the veins through her eye lids. I sat and watched her for hours, only looking away when nurses or doctors come in.

I couldn't stay awake for ever though and eventually I fell asleep in the chair.
