The words go round and round as I work at building the stoves and pulling out everything we need to make coffee, Per at my side as she fills the pan and puts it on to boil.
I lean around her and smile as she looks at me questioningly but I just pull out the drawer to bring out a spoon.
She licks her lips and I grin pulling back.
Share, whispers through my mind.
I hear a cheer from the common room and she jumps slightly. "Sounds like they lit the fire" I tell her and she nods before looking down shyly before turning back to the stove and I grin. "A watched kettle doesn't boil" I warn her, reaching for her hand and pulling her out behind me to check out the fire.
We watch as they pull the seating into a semicircle in front of the fire and Thad reminds us about the promise of hot drinks, sending Per back to the now boiling pan. Five minutes later we are all sat, coffee's in hand around the now roaring fire.
We all knew Ivo would ask questions first, that was just his way but we didn't expect tears or the actions and revelations that followed it.
I knew we all wanted to tear the guy that had assaulted her apart and not just physically, I knew once we had access online again both Thad and Rupert would start digging into the guy and his family business and would take great delight in extracting some payback for her.
There had been giggles and laughter from the kitchen are as Thad and Rupert cooked with her, I hoped tomorrow I would get a turn.
"I want the power back on and I don't" I grumbled to Ivo after I had opened all our rooms doors wanting the heat from the main room to filter into the bedrooms, dropping back into the chair next to his by the fire.

"I agree, we are in a bubble with her at the moment and it's ideal time to get to know her and her get used to us" he replied, his lips curving as we heard more laughter.
"We need to take Vaughn down" he said and I could hear his thirst for revenge in his voice.
"And her parents?" I ask knowing they were a bigger problem to her now and in the future.
"We will do some digging, but if they are looking for a good match for her, then all of us fit that bill, especially you and Ru" he tells me and I start realising that Ivo is thinking well ahead of the rest of us.
"You're thinking of forever?" I question.
"Aren't you?" he parries and I laugh, because strange as it seems, having only just met her, Yes I was.
Dinner was served by a nervous looking Per and my two proud looking brothers and I had to grin at just how good it tasted.
"This is great" Ivo said and they both pointed at Per whose blush could be seen even in the candlelight.
"Couldn't have done it without her" they praised before tucking in themselves.
After dinner, Ivo and I cleared the table, carefully washing up using the water Per had thoughtfully put on for just that purpose. Then we were back by the fire, the light too poor to play any games so we sat back and relaxed, Thad producing a bar of chocolate, he passed round till Per turned it down.
"Why not?" Thad asked as she looked longingly at the bar in his hand.
She looked down embarrassed, biting her lip as Thad continued to hold the bar her way. "I can't... I'm trying to diet, I'm too big" she rushes out to all our surprise.

"What the fuck!" Thad barks at her and I see her glare up at him challenging her. "You're not fat, hell if anything you could put more on" he growls.
She shakes her head sadly "I'm not, but thank you for saying that" she tells him and we all look at her assessingly.
"Your parents?" I question and after a brief hesitation she nods and we all growl, causing her to raise her head and look at us.
"Your parents are fools" I tell her and her eyes widen before she bites her lip again, staying silent.
I leaned forward bracing my arms on my knees as I looked at her "You are stunning Per, inside and out and whilst we may not have noticed you before, we do now and we will keep on telling you till you believe it"
"Why me?" she whispers out.
"I can't answer for my 'brothers' but I feel drawn to you, I want to know everything about you and I want to make everyone who has ever hurt you pay" I tell her, watching her expressive face, shown her emotions at my words.
I see the moment her emotions overwhelm her and she jumps up "Bathroom" she mutters and rushes down the corridor. I shake my head and grin, getting up and lifting one of the candlesticks, following her down the corridor and finding her leaning against the wall in the dark.
"We are all interested baby, but we will do nothing more unless you want us too" I say and hold out the candle to her, smiling as she silently takes in and rushes into the bathroom, shutting the door behind her.
I rejoin the others and grin "That went well" I say and duck to avoid the cushion Ivo chucks at me.
Its some time later before we hear her coming, the candle castings a shadow over her face as she comes to nervously stand at the edge of the room. "I think I am going to go to bed now... Goodnight" she tells us before taking the candle into my room, the door starting to close.
"Leave the door open to let the warmth from the fire circulate" I called watching, satisfied when the door didn't move any further.
"I think we should all turn in, lets load up the fire, and we will need to get up and feed it during the night" Ivo declares, already moving to throw more logs on.
"How often?"
"Every two hours at least" Ivo replies.
"I'll do the first one"
"Then me" Thad offers.
"I'll take the next one after Thad" Rupert offers and Ivo nods.
"Then I'll do the breakfast one, after that we will probably need to get more wood and hopefully the power may be back" Ivo finishes.

In Umbra Hasta
A blue marble floated in the unending void. On that marble, billions went about their lives, unaware that somewhere else, something had changed. Some requirement was met, and suddenly, a new type of energy saturated the universe. A mother closed her car's door and lifted a bag of groceries in an arm before vanishing into nothingness. Across the world, a teenager disappeared mid-word from a conversation with friends. In eastern America, Captain Octavius J. Asher of the US Army vanished from a mountain trail with no witnesses. People all over the Earth disappeared simultaneously. Such a thing would normally cause mass panic across the globe were it not for the fact that there wasn't a single person left on the globe to panic. Congratulations! Your universe has joined the System. Note: I wanted to read another litrpg apocalypse novel but couldn't find one. Thus, I decided to write one. The MC will be strong for a human but insignificant on a cosmic scale. No destroying worlds with a spell on chapter 25 in this novel. He will face challenges and be forced to make hard decisions. This serial now on hiatus for the time being :( Please rate and review. Constructive criticism is welcome!

The Dawn of Blood
As the saying goes, "Ignorance is bliss." That is a good way to describe us. We are constantly seeking to improve, to evolve. Coming up with laws and theories to better understand the world around us. But what if it was all for naught. What if what we think is truth is nothing more than the actions of higher beings, far beyond our reach. Upon the discovery of an entire new reality, remaining ignorant is certain death. The only way to live is to grow, to evolve, to adapt. This is my first novel so any feedback and criticism is greatly appreciated. I hope that I'm able to grow as a writer through this and hope that people enjoy my work. Credit for the cover image goes to Richard Luong. Check him out at https://tentaclesandteeth.deviantart.com.
