《Badass Luna》Chapter 20

"Oh come on Jonathan! I thought we were friends?!" I snapped, following Jonathan like a lost puppy as I had been doing for the last 10 minutes.
"Luna will you please stop pestering me! I thought I already told you a billion times that Ryan Alpha commanded me not to tell you!"I huffed at his response, getting very frustrated.
"Well I Luna command you to tell me!" he chuckled, advancing towards Ryan's office.
"Nice try Luna, but it doesn't work that way" By this time we had already arrived his office, and Jonathan had walked in without knocking the door.
In front of us, smirking at me sat Ryan on his office chair, hiding a laugh.
"You know, I can always back out right?" Ryan let out his chuckle as he got up from his seat and walked towards me.
"I'm afraid you won't Luna, besides, why are you so against surprises?" he asked me.
"Because, they're annoying, and I don't like to be annoyed" I replied, turning around to walk away.
Ryan had different plans as in the next second he lifted me off my feet, causing me to squeal as he took us towards our bedroom. Well, his bedroom.
It had been two years since everything with my mother had gone down. Sure, it did take me a few months to stabilize, but my work allowed me to divert my mind elsewhere and carry on with my life. During those two years other things happened too.
Me and Ryan gotten to know each other well, and eventually I agreed to let him take me out on a date, and after a few months of dating, well, I finally allowed him to use the g and b word.
A few months after our relationship began, Emilia and Michael found out, and let me tell you, that was not the best time of my life. I was interrogated for about three hours on how exactly Ryan and I happened, all the while Ryan sat by my side trying to contain his laughter. After Emilia had digested the lies I fed her, everything went back to normal. She now thinks that Ryan simply has a large family and that eventually Elvis Brewster was found.

My current status consisted of pestering Jonathan and Ryan to tell me where Ryan was taking me.
You see, a few days ago Ryan asked to take me out on a date to which obviously I had said yes, the only difference was that this was a special date, a date where he would take me somewhere out. Wherever out was, I hoped the past would be left in the past.

"Call me first thing when you get there and let me –"
"Yes Emilia I will, now will you please let go of me?" I interrupted, trying to escape Emilia's iron grip. She parted from the hug returning back to Michael.
"How long will you be gone?" she asked
"I don't even know, Ryan refuses to tell me anything" I replied purposely facing Ryan who stood right behind me.
"Not that long, I promise" he replied for me, facing Em.
"Honey, why don't you just let Britain here have some fun, she's always so focused on work anyways" Michael explained to Emilia, trying to sooth her.
You're probably wondering: what is wrong with Emilia? Separation issues much?
Let me explain.
This was probably the first time Emilia had ever seen me in a proper relationship with someone, which is why she was so emotional.
"You're right"
"Sorry I'm late" A voice came from behind Emilia, making us all turn our heads around to see James approaching the front porch.
"James, hello"
"Hello and goodbye my love" he responded, embracing me in a short hug due to Ryan's possessive issues.
"Goodbye?"
"I'm going to back to Dublin tomorrow morning" he surprised me by saying.
"What? Why?"
"Well I've been here for a month now Liz, I'm going to have to return eventually, gotta hit the shop or else whose gonna feed this belly?" he responded

And just like that, we all finished out farewells, parting our separate ways for some time.

"El, wake up" I heard from beside me. My eyes opened slowly, adjusting to my surroundings. I blinked a few times, repositioning myself on the airplane seat. Soon, I was facing a smiling Ryan staring at me. "We're landing" he announced, causing excitement to gather in me.
I looked outside the window trying to identify where we were, and when I did, my heart clenched and an enourmous smile took over my face.
I gasped, looking back at Ryan.
"I love you" I blurted, knowing it was definitely what I felt for him.
"I love you too" and with that, he captured my mouth with his, expressing his words in actions.
It had taken me a while to come around, but I sure had, and for the first time in my life, I didn't regret going against my strict morals, because it was all worth it.
After all, he did just bring me to my favourite city:
Rome.

Shadowrun: Blake Island School of Magic
It's a high tech, low life. It's the Seattle Metroplex in 2074. It rises like a steel and concrete cancer out of the earth. Poverty is rampant, corruption is everywhere, crime is out of control, corporations basically control everything, the old United States is fractured, magic has come back and now it turns out that humanity has been joined by elves, dwarves, orks and trolls. The old world ended but the rent is still due. Life goes on. You'd be surprised what people can adapt to, especially if they don't have a choice. One of the places where life goes on is just west of Seattle. Surrounded by the waters of the Puget Sound is an island. On that island is the Blake Island School of Magic. A decade ago it was known for producing some of the most talented awakened in the world. That reputation was hijacked by the wealthy corporate elite who now park their teenage children there. And since it's a boarding school, their parents mostly forget about them. Three young people, who are certainly not wealthy or elite, are chosen this year to attend this school of magic in hopes of revitalizing their reputation for talent. One from the ash drifts of the Puyallup Barrens, one from the most densely populated slum hive in the world and one from prison. This is their story. -- This story is set in the Shadowrun universe. If you're not familiar with Shadowrun, it mostly tells the stories of deniable mercenaries called shadowrunners in a cyberpunk dystopia. Instead of telling another story solely about shadowrunners, this story will tell the tale of young people navigating a world that is indifferent to them at best and actively hostile at worst. Shadowrunners will be in the story and we'll see them operate, but they won't be its main focus. This story originally began in 2017 as a passion project and continues to this day on the Somethingawful.com forums. The unedited version is over a million words strong. There are currently seven books in this series and I am currently in the process of editing them.
