"It's perfect." he said and I could tell he was extremely happy as well. We stared at each other before I decided it was time to go.
The wood of the front door was cool against my fingertips. I was afraid to knock but this had to be done if I wanted to be with Noah. After staring at my hands for what seemed like forever, I knocked, suddenly feeling incredible anxious.
The young woman answered the door, her blonde locks pulled loosely away from her face and her blue eyes like saucers against her pale skin. "Ryder! I missed you!" Anna exclaimed as she pulled me into a tight hug, one that used to excite me but did nothing for me anymore. "You haven't returned any of my phone calls."
I had seen the seven missed calls and over ten messages she had sent, debating on whether to tell her the bad news in person or over the phone. I figured it was better to do in person, face to face.
"I left you like five voicemails and-" Her cheery voice drained on and on and I just wished she would stop talking.
"We need to break up," I finally said. She looked stunned, her mouth open in a silent protest. I didn't want to hurt her but there was nothing that I could do. I had a mate now.
"What?" She seemed angry now, her face turning a bright red. "You're breaking up with me?"
"I'm sorry, Anna, but-"
"No, you listen to me. You don't get to break up with me. I break up with you," she blurted out, "It's over, Ryder." And with that, the door was slammed in my face. Surprised and a little heart broken, I stalked back to my car because there was one more person that I needed to talk to. I couldn't believe I actually ended that relationship. There was no turning back now.

Hey Noah. Wanna go get something to eat? I said in my head as I tried to figure out the best way to ask him out. I had been standing in front of his house for ten minutes now, just going over what to say. You, me, dinner. I shook my head at myself for sounding so stupid. I took a deep breath before knocking on the front door and waiting for an answer.

Their smell hit before they opened the door and I knew it wasn't Noah. "Can I help you?" a woman, that had to be in her fourties and looked exactly like Noah, asked. She had a warm smile and I couldn't help but feel welcomed.
"Yes, is Noah home?" I asked. She looked me up and down before smiling and nodding. She opened the door wider for me and I walked in.
"Noah is upstairs in the room on your right." she said before walking towards the kitchen. I walked up the stairs and knocked on his door. I waited but there was no response. I knocked again and when he didn't answer, I opened the door. I stood in the doorway and watched Noah as he read his book and nodded his head as he listened to his music. Did this count as intruding?
"I fell in love from the moment we kissed. Since then, we've been history " Noah sang as he threw his book on the ground and started jumping on the bed. He twirled around before looking up and meeting my gaze. His eyes grew huge before his cheeks turned a bright red and I couldn't explain how cute he looked when he blushed. "Don't you knock?" he asked as he took off his head phones and sat back down on the bed. I closed the door before looking around his room.
"I did knock- twice actually." I stated with a smirk as I looked at his baby pictures that were standing on his dresser. "You have a nice voice by the way." I looked closely at the person in the picture in front of me and looked back at my blushing Noah, trying to see the resemblance in the people.
"I don't want to sound mean but why are you here?" he asked softly. I walked towards his bed and sat down next to him.
"I wanted to know if you wanted to, u know.." I trailed off, feeling incredibly nervous all of a sudden. Riley would laugh if he saw how coy I was being.

"No, I don't know." he said with an amused smile.
"Will you go on a date with me?" I asked, staring him straight in the eye. His eyes were wide again and his cheeks were turning a shade of red. There was definitely no turning back now.
"Is this a joke?" He asked, his disbelief catching me off guard. I could feel his defensive walls going up, his heart burrowing deeper and further away from me. He was too used to being hurt. I wanted to change that.
"Of course not," I replied, finding it hard to speak to this beautiful boy. "I like you." I would never have thought I would be confessing my love to another male.
"You actually like me?" He asked almost too quietly to hear, his gaze falling as he smiled at his lap.
"Of course I do. What's not to like?" He chuckled a little before looking back up at me. "So, is that a yes?" I took deep breaths to calm myself as I waited for him to answer. He smiled before nodding. I couldn't explain the mass amount of joy that went through me. I hugged him to my chest, unable to erase the smile that was plastered to my face.
"I mean, cool." I said quickly as I let him go and tried to act casual. "I'll pick you up about two hours after school tomorrow. Is that okay?"
"It's perfect." he said and I could tell he was extremely happy as well. We stared at each other before I decided it was time to go. I said good bye to him and his mom before leaving and driving home fast so I could tell Riley the good news.
I couldn't get rid of the smile that was probably permanently etched onto my face. Did Ryder seriously just ask me out or was I dreaming? I pinched myself to make sure and sure enough, I was wide awake. I grabbed my pillow and screamed into it like my body couldn't contain all the happiness. I had to tell someone, anyone. I slipped on my vans and grabbed my skateboard before heading outside. Sage's house was only five minutes away and I couldn't be happier.
"Sage, wake up!" I screamed as I entered her gigantic, white house. Her parents were always going on business trips so Sage practically lived by herself with her maids. I ran up the stairs and into her room, where she was sprawled out across the bed. Any good friend would lightly shake her to wake her up. I thought. I guess I'm not a good friend.
I went downstairs to the kitchen and grabbed the bucket from the closet, filling it with ice and water until it was full. When I was in her room again, I was debating on whether to pour it on her and be strangled to death or just wait until she woke up on her own.
Eh there's no fun in being nice. I thought as I tipped the bucket of ice water so it quickly poured all over her.
"I'm going to kill you!" She screamed as she sprang out of the bed and chased me down the hall. "I can't believe you did that!"
"You had it coming." I yelled over my shoulder as I entered the living room and right when I was about to turn the corner, I was hit with a pillow and fell to the ground. I covered my face with my arms as she continuously smacked me with a pillow.
After about five minutes of me trying to get away from her and her pillow, she finally stopped and lied down next to me. "Why are you here anyways?" she asked.
"He asked me out."

Riza is a woman who wakes up in a forest with nothing, remembering nothing, and on the cusp of death. The only thing she has is a weapon stuck in her side and, after a tangle with a wild boar, something called 'life aspect'. Little does she know that life magic is considered a dead-end branch and is largely outlawed across the world. None of this matters to her, of course. For one, even if someone tried to tell her, she doesn't know the language. Number two, have you heard about the sunk cost fallacy? Riza is not some chosen one, nor is given any boon she doesn't deserve. Instead, she's smart and methodical, and experiements on how to maximise every opportunity, every ability, presented to her. She doesn't just take things at face-value but instead explores just what limitations there are. This often involves maths.

Lord of cauldrons
A man reincarnated to a world where cultivation ruled supreme. One were even practices like human cauldrons and dual cultivation was commonplace and a part of the culture. What was not commonplace was treating these cauldrons with any ounce of respect or affection. These cauldrons were like pills or potions to be used and consumed or thrown away. They were often just a stepping stone in one's immortal path. One man thought, "What if they were my immortal path." --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- My chinese knowledge is limited to wuxia/xianxia books and cultivator games and I will only follow it loosely, I have my own cultivation system which will be basis for this story The reason I am writing this is because I have yet to find a dual cultivation story that has something I really wanted to read. Using the 'cauldrons' like Pokémon and the 'cauldrons' being the main source of power. I will update this at a minimum of once per week.
