Noah sat down in a chair next to Elle's bed. The doctors say she'd fainted and that she would be okay. But looking at her discolored skin, Noah was worried. Everything seemed so quiet now. Richard would never harm them again. But Noah still feared every waking second of silence. He still checked over his shoulder every few minutes. Elle had been in the path to recovery, this was the last thing she needed. Tears threatened to fall as Noah looked at Elle, she looked so peaceful. But he knew the moment she awoke the deafening pain would consume her. She'd be lost. He knew this and yet he still had hope. He hoped that Elle would awaken and that she would recover. He hopes that the doctors would give him good news and that they would all be okay. He needed Elle, she was the light of his life, and he couldn't be without her. He looked down, wiping the premature tears welling in his eyes.
"N-Noah?" A small voice croaked. His head shot up.
"Elle?"
"W-where are we? Are we safe?" She asked as she tried to sit up.
"Shh shh shh, it's okay you're okay. Lay back down Elle."
"N-Noah are we safe?"
"Yes we're in a hospital, Richard will never see freedom again." Elle nodded.
"Good." She whispered as she closed her eyes.
"That's really good." A peaceful smile played at her lips.
