Rachel awoke to the sound of birds chirping. The sun was in her eyes. She sat up quickly. A look of horror spread across her face when she saw her surroundings. She was handcuffed to a car staring at the edge of a cliff where Elle and Noah sat. Their legs dangling off. Richard was standing over them, smirking. He turned and made eye contact with Rachel. He smiled a creepy wide smile.
"Good morning little one. Don't worry, you'll get your turn over here soon enough." Rachel grimaced. He was creepy in every possible way. She heard a grunt to her immediate right and whirled around, scratching her knees as she went. She breathed a sigh of relief.
"Lee!" She exclaimed as she threw her arms around him. He fell back as his arms wrapped around her.
"Rachel! Thank god you're okay because if you'd been hurt then I'd have to hurt Richard on my own. And I don't want to break my nose till I'm at least thirty." Rachel laughed, tears welling.
"Lee, I love you." She laughed as tears spilled from her eyes. Lee wiped them away.
"I love you too." He said calmly. Almost reassuringly. He gave her a soft kiss and then turned to wake his parents next to him. Elle twisted her body around to look at her family. She saw Lee and Rachel. She breathed a sigh of relief. At least some good came out of this. She looked to her right. Noah's face was bloodied and bruised.
"Noah." She whimpered. He nodded as he wiped blood from his nose.
"I'm okay Elle." Elle nodded.
"How the hell are we gonna get out of this one?" She breathed. Noah leaned over and kissed Elle on the forehead.

"I have no fucking clue." Elle gave him a look.
"That's not what you say after kissing your girlfriend." Noah rolled his eyes.
"Elle focus." She sighed. She thought for a moment. Richard was with his guards by the car. Her and Noah's hands were tied. So were Lee's and their family's. Richard wanted Elle to finish Noah's job. But now he knows Noah is alive. She sighed.
"I don't know anything either." Noah groaned.
"Elle come on! You're the one with all the bright ideas, you can't think of anything?"
"How the hell am I supposed to have all the ideas! We're stuck! We got no way out!" Elle turned back to look at Richard. Then she looked to Noah.
"He's got us here Noah."

An Average American in A High-school Academy Anime
An American versed in narrative tropes and more than mildly acquainted with anime wakes up in a completely different bed than the one he went to bed in. Now he has to scramble to understand where he is, what's going on, and hope to God he isn't in a relationship drama. I don't expect this to be good or well-received, but I have plenty of time this quarantine, so I'll try to get a chapter of 4000-10000 words out every one or two weeks. (haha) Please let me know how it can be improved. I'm an avid reader of fiction, but I've never really fallen down a rabbit hole so hard that I can name all tropes and settings and such by heart. I'm not sure if this will be effective satire, so I preemptively apologize. Inspired by: "My Life is Not a Manga, or maybe..." by EO Tenkey and "The Simulacrum" by Eganthale. Check them out if you want probably better stories than this one.
