《Alpha King's✔️》Chapter 14

I had been down in this dungeon for a couple of days now, served mouldy bread and a cup of water each day. Jack had offered his food to me but I simply said 'no' he needed to eat too. We've become really close, he's funny, caring and makes me feel normal. We were currently having a staring contest.
"I'm going to win" he sang to himself while keeping his eyes wide open.
I couldn't help it. I laughed at his face "I win" he said and smiled at me.
"You always win" I rolled my eyes but smiled anyway, it was true though he was good at everything probably because he was a werewolf. Yes he had told me he was one but he was too weak to change into one. His wolf is called Jake. I laughed at Jack and Jake. I can remember when he told me about it.
"Hey Jack. Who is the werewolf king?" I asked him. I had wanted to ask this question as soon as I remembered that night at dinner when they said they had captured him finally.
Jack only looked at me and smiled "Another time" he said and looked at the wall with a sad look in his eyes, I decided not to push it further. I didn't want to hurt his feelings especially when we were friends.
Just then I heard a slam and the wind blew my hair past my shoulders, there he was the king standing with his back to me facing towards Jack's cage. "How's the dog doing?" The king said and laughed into his cage.
I heard Jack growl and then he managed to get the king by his shirt, I couldn't see the king's face but Jack was angry. "Leech it's only a matter of time" Jack said and threw him back.

"I see somebody grew some balls, we will see how long that lasts" The king laughed and turned around towards my cell.
"Arabella" He whispered and I could have sworn I saw sympathy pass his eyes but before I could know for certain his eyes went hard. "Have you enjoyed the dungeon?" He asked with a genuine smile on his face.
I didn't say anything but looked at Jack who was looking at us both, suddenly Jack started to laugh at him. The king turned around "Shut up mut" He growled at him and quickly turned back around at me.
"Well?" He lifted his hands up and I shook my head "How was your stay with the dog?" he moved closer to my cell. "Unfortunately for you, your punishment is ready," the king said, looking at me and smirking.
"What?" I whispered my mouth open.
Punishment didn't I just go through this horrible punishment, panic started to cross my body and I could feel my eyes tearing up "Oh don't cry your gonna love it" the king said and smiled at me, that's it he was completely nut case.
He opened the cell of my cage and walked inside. I heard a growl coming from behind him "Don't touch her" Jack spat at him.
The king turned around to face jack "Or what mut?" he replied to him.
The king walked closer to me and the more he got closer the more Jack growled, I didn't know whether to be scared of the beast coming towards me or the growls that were coming from jack.
The king looked back at Jack and the look of realisation crossed the king's face and he let out a full on laugh "Your joking dog? Her really." he said to Jack.

"You will regret ever touching her" Jack gritted out looking at the king dead in his eyes.
The king only looked amused and walked out of my cell and in front of Jack's "She's your" the king started but Jack cut him off.
"Don't," he said to him.
The king only laughed "She's mine dog, only mine. I am the only one that can touch her while you're stuck down here." the king said I was confused I'm not anybody's. The king walked back into my cell and picked me up by my arm and pinned me against the wall of the dungeon. "Look pup only I can do this" the king said and before I knew what was happening I felt his stone cold lips pressed against mine.
The loudest growl I have ever heard went past my ears and I scrunched my face up so the king would let go. He did and laughed before smirking "Are you ready for your punishment little one?" he whispered in my ear.
Dread filled my whole body and he grabbed my hair, dragging me out the cell. I looked at Jack who could only watch with anger in his eyes. "Don't worry Arabella, I will save you" Jack said with promise in his voice.
"Of course you will pup." The king replied sarcastically.
I closed my eyes and the pain in my scalp hurt from being dragged, he dragged me for about 10 minutes screaming as he pulled harder and harder. "Here we are." He said and let go of my hair and placed me in front of a black door. "Open the door Arabella, I've gotten you a surprise" the king whispered in my ear.
My hands shook trying to get a grip of the handle, I opened the door to my worst nightmare.
My mother and father tied up on their knees, hands behind their back looking straight into my eyes with panic and fear running through them.

A Step Behind Death
Please share your thoughts about the story! Feedback and criticism is welcome, it'll help me improve my writing. "The final year of high school is the most difficult." This statement has never been truer for Damis, a student attending one of the many schools in the City of Sundridge. He never wanted anything more than to live a peaceful life, going so far as to avoid having large group of friends, indulging in dragged out conversations, or being involved in any other activity that requires him to invest a large amount of effort to accomplish. Instead, he poured all of his efforts into studying, dwelling in his internal monologues, and complaining about the things that annoy him to his one and only friend, Noah. Before long, he ended up as one of the best students in his class. As far as he was concerned, he was content with how he lived. But, after a confrontation with an eccentric girl named May, one of his classmates since the first year of high school, things have suddenly gotten out of hand. And as a result, his life became a lot more hectic than it used to be. Bound by a deal he could not refuse, his life as May's assistant began. At this rate, can he still spend the final days of his high school life in peace? Welcome to the life of Damis, the boy who's always A Step Behind Death. The cover art is made by friend of mine. I plan on making this novel into a webtoon once it becomes the best it can be. English isn't my first language, so expect some grammar bumps along the way.

The Doormat Villainess – Adrianne
A villainess is a character who has always been diametrically opposed to the heroine of a romance drama. What makes a person a good villainess? The fact that she's unabashedly beautiful and charismatic, yet also rotten inside? The fact that she's incredibly loathsome, greedy, and selfish? That she's reasonably strong enough to be a hurdle, yet ultimately powerless in the face of a determined heroine? That despite all these character flaws, a Villainess's greatest virtue is unwilling to give up until the last of their breath, in pursuit of her personal desire? If those are the hallmark of a successful Villainess. Then, I might be the wrong person to play that role. Also on Scribblehub (Profile)
