That sweet smell, children running around, adults throwing parties.

It's officially Halloween!

Sonic: "Y/n! Y/n! Wake up!"

Y/n: -sleepy- "I don't wanna..."

Sonic: "C'mon Y/n, it's Halloween!"

Y/n: "In a minute..."

Sonic: -mockingly- "Egh, party pooper... Oh well, guess I'll enjoy this day without you."

Sonic quickly dashes downstairs leaving you alone in the attic

You stood up, put your shoes on, cleaned your hat, but instead of wearing it you just left it on your drawer for later

Y/n 'Well, it's Halloween, for no reason I am randomly starting to feel anxious and a bit less confident than I would normally be... Who knows it might just be that phrase that humans use called "butterflied in your stomach".... whatever the hell that means..'

Today I looked a bit bland due to only wearing my gloves and shoes, I was saving my belt, holsters, and hat for Tails due to him wanting to use them later.

I went to the bathroom to check on my fur and then walked downstairs

I saw Ozzy and was about to try and pet her until she walked away all sassy from me... I never understood that dog

And so I marched on forwards where I saw Sonic already wearing his costume, a vampite costume...

So logically I responded with,

Y/n: "Isn't it a bit early to be wearing your costume?"

Sonic: "Ah, it's never too early for anything! C'mon put yours on!"

Y/n: "But it's not even close to being night yet..."

Sonic: "But it'll give us that Halloween mood!"

Y/n: "Alright... Whatever you say.... But not right now, in a few minutes alright?"

Sonic: "Alright, also if you don't then I'll personally scare you!"

Y/n: "Alright..."

Sonic: "And why do you look so bland today? You normally love your hat..."

Y/n: "I'm saving it for Tails later..."

Sonic: "Ooooooooh, I see what you're doing...."

Y/n: "Uhh, I- I don't know about what.. You're talking ab-about.."

Sonic: "Y'know what? Maybe I shouldn't make fun of my little brother for having a small crush..."

Y/n: "......"

You stayed silent on his comment due to it being too much to handle

Sonic: "Maybe I should stop reminding you before you blow up... No seriously you look red..."

Y/n: "Uh. A-alright..."

You walked away very awkwardly with Sonic looking at you with a stupid but proud smile

Y/n: -mumbling- "Idiot..."

Sonic: "I heard that!"

We cut to you walking towards Tails and Knuckles' room

As you were about to make contact with the door knob you remembered about what Sonic's been teasing you about, the little flashback gave you some anxiety and made you nervous as you twisted the door knob open

Y/n: "H-hello!"

Knuckles: "Hello."

Tails: "Hey there!"

You immediately got butterflies in your stomach and started sweating and feeling all nervous

Y/n: "So, d-do you guys wanna go trick or treating with us later?"

Tails: "Sure, why not."

Knuckles: "I only want treats not tricks..."

Y/n: "Nice. So uh, do y-you guys have your costumes ready for tonight?"

Knuckles: "Yes, maddie bought it for me."

Tails: "I was going to ask you about that later..."

Y/n: "Sure you can borrow it!"

Too loud....

Tails: "Alright... Thanks!"

Y/n: "Sure... No problem..."

Knuckles: "Are you alright? It seems as if his spirit has been broken!"

Y/n: -sweating - "Yeah, I'm alright! Fine! Good!"

Tails: "Y/n? Are you okay? Is it about me borrowing your hat?.. I can go as something else..."

Y/n: "No, it's alright! I swear! I'm just cold...??"

Tails: "I don't think that's how it wor-

Y/n: "Bye!"

You quickly dashed out of the room so fast and back up to the attic that your speed would've put Sonic to shame

Y/n 'WHY AM I STUPID!'

You paced around the room in panic trying to calm yourself down

Sonic calmly walks in and sees you looking all red

Sonic: "Somebody's nervous..."

Your ears perk up to Sonic's voice which makes your attention go on him

Y/n: "Huh?"

Sonic: "C'mon man just be more confident in yourself... Besides you'll also need confidence for trick or treating, and maybe another thing after that..."

Y/n: "What do you mean?"

Sonic: "Well... You got mood jumps, you go from being a happy normal cowboy wolf to a nervous wreck in less than a second!"

Y/n: "And what do you want me to do about it?"

Sonic: "I don't know... That's up to you to decide, but it's Halloween so I'll give you a pass."

Y/n: "Alright...?"

Sonic: "Now put on your costume!"

Y/n: "Fine."

Timeskip to you looking at yourself in the mirror

Y/n: "Huh... not that bad."

You then tied the mask around your eyes and placed the white hat onto your head

Y/n: "Nice!"

You carried your actual hat, belt, and holsters downstairs and saw Tails on a laptop

Y/n: "Hey... I got your costume here if you wanna wear it right now."

Tails: "Thanks, I'll put it on right now!"

He politely grabbed the clothes and walked off to see how it would look for himself

Y/n Pov:

Maybe Sonic is right about building up confidence, once I was basically unstoppable, I didn't care about what I said as long as I got it out... It seems as if the one thing I hated was the one thing that made me confident..

But until then I'll try my best to not think about that and instead enjoy this day full of tricks and treats...

Well... at least I get to see Tails in my outfit! That'll look adorable... A fox in the clothing of a wolf, like two opposites eh?

Well, my thoughts are getting carried away, at least I'll enjoy this day

From behind me I was met with the voice of the one and only Tails!

Tails: "So... How do I look!"

Y/n: "You look perfect!"

Tails: "Ya think so?"

Y/n: "Hell yeah! But... do you wanna carry my revolvers around or..."

Tails: "Won't that get us in trouble?"

Y/n: "Hmmm... You're right. So it's around that time that people start leaving their houses to trick or treat... You wanna go right now?"

I tried so hard to hide my emotions and not blush, if Sonic wants me to become more confident, then confident I shall be!

Tails: "Sure, I wanna see how it works!"

Y/n: "I'll go get the others alright?"

Tails: "Alright."

I wondered off in order to pick up Sonic and Knuckles so that all three of us could go off trick or treating

Off I was walking towards the extremely loud talking of my older brother, judging from the loud noise he was probably doing something stupid, but who am I to judge if I also do really stupid things...

Y/n: "Ohhhh Sonic....!"

I said as I burst in through the door

Sonic jumped from the sudden burst as my main thought quickly changed

Y/n: "Why the hell are you guys looking at a fly in a jar?"

Knuckles: "To see it's true potential, wolf!"

Sonic: "Hey... I was bored."

Y/n: "Alright... So do you guys wanna go trick or treating right now?"

Sonic: "Aw! Heck yeah!"

Knuckles: "I will celebrate even thought I have no idea!..."

He somehow was actually happy even though he had no idea as to what was going on

Y/n: "Alright then... Let's go!"

Knuckles: "Wait, don't I require my outfit?"

Sonic: "Right... Didn't Maddie buy you that costume?"

Knuckles: "Right."

Y/n: "Right... You're going as a samurai!"

Sonic: "Nice! Well... we'll wait for you downstairs 'cuz we gon' get ready!"

Y/n: "Yeah. Anyways I'll meet you downstairs too, Sonic. But I'll get something real quick, alright?"

Sonic: "Alright, we'll be waiting for you too."

Off Sonic went downstairs

Sonic Pov:

As we made our way downstairs towards the front door I turned around and saw the one and only Tom Watchowski!

Tom: "Hey... Sonic! How ya doing right now? You guys ready to go trick or treating?"

Sonic: "Heck yeah, man! So will you be going too?"

Tom: "Oh... About that... Yeah, I won't be able to go since I'm on patrol tonight. Wade got the night free.."

Sonic: "Yikes... So will you or Maddie be taking us?"

Tom: "I'll drop you guys off at the neighborhood and then Maddie'll pick you guys up when you're all done, just give her a call, alright?"

Sonic: "Understood!"

Tom: "Anyways, where is Y/n? Isn't your brother s'pposed to be going too?"

Sonic: "He's going, but right now he's looking for something..."

Cut back to Y/n

You walked away from them as you made your way upstairs towards the attic

The minute you made it up there you quickly ran towards your bed and checked under it for the one item you were looking for

Y/n: "Where is it! I could've sworn it was right he- AHA!"

You picked up a button, it was the hoverboard Tails made for you during your final stance against Robotnik!

You put it in your coat pocket and quickly raced back down.

Sonic: -Shouting- "Y/n! Come on we gotta go!"

Y/n: "COMING! Just wait a minute!"

You raced back down and hastily made your way out the front door where you were greeted by Tom's truck

Tom: "Get in, I'm dropping you guys off for right now."

Y/n: "Alright!"

You jumped in the truck and sat to the side since Tails was in the middle

Tom: "By the way I put your candy baskets in the back of the truck since somebody~ forgot."

He glances over at Sonic in a scolding father type of way while Sonic just nervously sweats and acts like he's innocent

Y/n: "So... Our first Halloween, eh?"

Sonic: "Yeah! Hopefuly it's as good as they say!"

Tom: "Trust me, I had a lot of fun when I was a kid trick-or-treating! Especially with friends it's funner."

Tails: "We're both!"

Tom: "Y'know, you guys are lucky to have each other. For one year I was all alone on Halloween night... Let's just say I broke a bone..."

You looked at him a bit surprised wondering as to what happened

Y/n and Sonic: "Did you die!?"

They all looked at you two confused... Until you two realized your stupid mistake.

Tom: "Yep. You two may not be related by blood but you two sure are brothers..."

You smiled at the statement while you looked at Sonic

Tom: "Hey, so... What's it like being whatever you guys are? Do you guys have natural survival instincts?"

Knuckles: "I was raised by a tribe... So, yes."

Y/n: "I don't know... I never thought about that. Maybe I do?"

Sonic: "I mean, I can roll myself into a ball! So the answer is a yes from me!"

Tails: "I'm not really sure... I don't pay much attention to myself. Althought I may have some."

Tom: "Huh. You guys are something..."

Few 15 minutes later you guys made it to your location after a ride of random questions and answers

Congrats, you're now in a location full of random people. A peaceful neighborhood!

Y/n: "Hey, thanks for dropping us off here! Dad."

Tom smiled said goodbye and drove away as you guys finished grabbing your baskets

Sonic: "Alrightio, I bet I can get more candy than all of you! Think of it as a challenge!"

Tails: "No, I bet I can get more!"

He said it playfully but still competively

Knuckles: "A challenge! I shall prevail and beat you all!"

Y/n: "Alright then, to make this easier should we go into groups of two?"

Sonic: "Alright!"

You turned to Tails and said to him

Y/n: "Wanna be my partner?"

Tails: "Wha~?"

Y/n: "-In the competition!"

Sonic: "Hehe. Well guess I'm pairing up with Knuckles!"

Knuckles: "Alright Hedgehog, don't dishonor us!"

Off the two went running and Knuckles dragged Sonic in the air

Tails: "We should get going too!"

You two ran around the neighborhoods getting as much candy as you could! Also since you guys are basically welcomed residents of Green Hills you guys were treated as little celebrities!

One house, then the other, and the other. Next thing you know you're basically running around the entire place!

You two kept at it going house to house getting compliments for each others costumes

You two came to one house which was different than the others, a kind old lady was sitting out giving out candy

Old Lady: -gasp- "Oh my god! Matty, is that you!"

Y/n: "Uh.. No ma'am I think you got me mistakened for someone else..."

Old Lady: "Ah... You two are the animal things, no?"

Tails: -awkwardly- "Yeah, that's us."

Old Lady: "Oh my, you, wolf! You remind me of the show my husband used to watch back then... It was called the Lone Ranger! We went to watch a rebooted version around ten years ago! Before he passed..."

You felt a little bad for the old lady, but you were glad that somebody else recognized your costume! And at least you brought back some happy memories for her!

Y/n: "We're sorry about your husband.-"

Tails: "I'll wish the best for you and him."

Old Lady: "Ah, thank you kind boys! I'll see you around alright?"

She handed you guys your candy and you guys left waving at her

Y/n: "She's nice, eh?"

Tails: "Yeah... but I feel bad for her."

Y/n: "Why's that?"

Tails: "She lost somebody she spent a long time with.."

You stayed silent and instead grabbed his hand in order to get out of the sad moment

Y/n: "How about we keep on getting candy... You'll be able to eat them afterwards!"

Tails: "Alright..."

Y/n: "Let's not let something like this ruin the fun of our night together!"

Tails: "Alright... Our night."

You grabbed his hand and kept on going at it running around the houses and getting candy

Tails started getting more into the happy Halloween mood each house you guys were visting, until he finally embraced it and started roleplaying with his costume!

Tails: "This night is fun! I love being a gunslinger! Pew pew!"

You smiled at him because of the amount of happiness he seemed to have and in responde you responded back with some good ol' Saul Goodman finger guns

He smiled at you and off you two went finishing all the houses and getting all the candy you could get

Stranger: "What do you kids say?"

Tails 'n Y/n: "Trick or treat!"

Cut to another house

You two rang the doorbell

Tails and Y/n: "Trick or treat!"

Stranger: "Hey you guys the things that're fast!"

Tails: "Yep!"

Y/n: "Sure..."

You two went on seeing different children in costumes, zombies, heroes, pirates... Whatever the hell Cap'n Cook is...

And there it went, random people were giving you free candy as if you've known each other for a long time, hell Halloween is definitely one of your favorite holidays on Earth, not the first, but around 2nd

Tails: "Hey, should we go back to where Tom dropped us off at?"

Y/n: "Yeah, it's getting too late. Oh... we went a bit too far away, huh."

Tails: "It's alright, I can fly us back over there!"

Y/n: "Alright!"

You loved it the last time when you went flying, but that was during some chaos against Robotnik, but this time it was calmer, it was on a calm Halloween night, sure there was some loud music in the background but that was extinguished by the good time you were having with Tails

Tails held onto your hand and his twin tails started propelling you two into the air, he was a like mini helicopter... but cuter.

And off you two went, back to where Tom dropped you two off

Cut to the ground

Y/n: "Hey, shouldn't Sonic be here already with Knuckles?"

Tails: "Yeah, I thought he was the fastest thing ever!"

Y/n: "Hey look, he's over there!"

You pointed towards where your brother and Knuckles were at, they seemed to be running at full speed towards you two

Tails: "Why do they look... White?"

Y/n: "Is that-...? -Toilet paper on them?"

In a flash they were already in front of you

Sonic: "Uhh... Hello..."

Y/n: "What the heck happened to you two?"

Knuckles: "We got humiliated."

Sonic: "Aw c'mon, we did not get humiliated... -looks at his body covered in tp- Okay... Maybe we did get a little bit humiliated.."

Y/n: "Did somebody TP you two?"

Sonic: "Nooo- Yeah. They did."

Y/n: "Who?"

Knuckles: "Two hormone filled children."

Y/n: "Teenagers?"

Sonic: "Yeah. Those. They're like animals! One second you're having fun, boom the next all you see is white and light shining through the toilet paper!"

Y/n: "Ooo, that must suck. -Anyways how much candy did you guys get~?!"

Knuckles: "Way more than I could comprehend!"

Sonic: "Go on, Knuckles. Show them the amount (Ley ->) Le Blue Justice and the Red Thorn have collected!"

They showed you the amount, it was a lot! But hopefully less than the amount you and Tails got.

Tails: -Childish- "I bet we got more!"

Y/n: "For sure!"

Sonic: "Oh! So you wanna be like that? Alright let's see your amount, bro!"

Y/n: "I gotchu!"

You showed them the amount you and Tails have collected which was definitely way more than what they collected

Knuckles: "Impossible!"

Sonic: "Wha-! In our defenses most of the houses ran out!"

Y/n: "The fastest hedgehog was beaten by the fastest gunslinger! Never thought I'd see the day that it would happen!"

Sonic: "Yeah-Yeah..."

Y/n: "Anyways ignoring that subject, did you call Maddie to pick us up yet?"

Sonic: "She should be here any minute- I called her when we were being chased by some dogs.."

Y/n: "Alright, let's just wait a few and see if she's here.."

A few seven minutes pass by and you two see the family truck arrive, but this driven by Maddie!

Maddie: "Hey there, kids! How'd it go?"

Sonic: "It was fun!- Besides being chased... but the rest was FUN!"

Knuckles: "Definitely one of the more exciting moments!"

It's funny hearing Knuckles being excited or happy since he sounds robotic while saying his words

Y/n: "It was really nice! And we met some nice old lady!"

Tails: "I liked it too! I just thought the amount of people around us was a bit nerve-wracking..."

Maddie: "Well, I'm glad you guys enjoyed most of the night! C'mon get in, it's cold out here."

You all got back in the truck with your candy and drove back home

On your ride back home you saw everything, children being happy, adults acting like children, and overall some good fun and music being put out there. It was definitely one of those Halloween's you won't forget..

Cut back home, sleeping hours.

You took off your shoes, and costume, you laid in bed thinking about things for a few minutes.

You got your normal attire back a few minutes ago from Tails. You said good night to him and everything went back to normal.

As Sonic turned the lights off you said to him

Y/n: "Hey, tonight was definitely one of the better nights, huh?"

Sonic: -Tired- "Sure was... Y'know, ever since all this Robotnik stuff ended we haven't really had any time to spend as brothers. You're my brother, and we should do something."

Y/n: "I know. But I'll think of something. I promise.

As your thoughts faded away you drifted off to sleep, waiting to be awoken the next day

This was definitely Halloween

I feel so stupid for publishing this like 20 days after Halloween... I'm so sorry lmao. This was definitely one of the better chapters I've posted. But this took way too long since some family problems got in the way, hell I managed to get out of Ohio (Not a joke)
