Third POV
Volturi Castle, Volterra
Even though Aro was annoyed, a smirk formed on his face. "Where is he?" Aro asked, staring intensely at the twins. "In the throne room," Alec answered.
Aro nodded, "we will be there shortly." The twins bowed lowly and left. Aro closed the door, turning to look at Bella, who had sat up on the bed.
"Who was it?" She snickered. "Alec and Jane," Aro replied. Bella scoffed. "What did they want now?" She asked, crossing her hands on her chest. "I have recruited a new guard for your safety," Aro said, walking to his walk-in closet.
"And...?" Bella tilted her head. "He is here, we shall go and greet him as well as Eleazar," Aro said from the closet. "Eleazar... I have heard his name before," Bella admitted.
"You must have heard it in your time with the Cullens," Aro said. Bella hummed, trying to remember anything more about Eleazar.
Aro stepped out of the closet, wearing his usual black suit with black shirt with a tie. "Go and wear something more... appropriate, my love," Aro said, politely; walking to the vanity to comb his hair back.
"Fine," Bella grumbled a bit, standing up from the bed to go into the walk in closet. She pulled a black, simple frock which ended just beneath her knees.
After changing into the frock and slipping on her heels, Bella exited the walk in closet and towards the vanity. Aro walked to Bella, placing his hand on her waist.
Bella grabbed her nude lipstick, putting it on. "What is this guard's name anyway?" Bella asked, making an eye contact with Aro through the mirror. "James Warren," Aro replied.
"And what is his gift?" Bella queried. "He can do magic, conjure things from thin air, make illusions, some other stuff," Aro said, running his hand up and down on Bella's waist.

"So, a powerful individual," Bella said. "A very powerful individual," Aro agreed. "So that's good... right?" Bella asked, turning to face Aro, still in his arms. "It is," Aro nodded.
"Let's go," Aro said, extending his elbow to Bella. Bella hooked her hand to Aro's elbow. The couple was escorted to the throne room by 8 lower guards.
The door to the throne room was opened by two guards, letting the couple walk in. In the middle of the room stood 2 figures. One slightly taller than the other.
Aro guided Bella to the raised podium where the three thrones sat. Bella looked at the two men.
One of the man was 5'11" tall with black hair. His eyes golden like all the other "vegetarian" vampires. His features angular; skin pale but with a light olive cast. Bella understood that this man was Eleazar.
"Eleazar," Aro called. "Aro," Eleazar's voice was hard, expressionless. "I wanted to know if Bella possess any gift or not," Aro said. Eleazar nodded, staring intensely at Bella.
Bella felt like Eleazar could see right though her. As if he could see her soul and mind and her secrets. After two long minutes, Eleazar blinked, turning to Aro.
"She has a unique gift. Something never seen before. She is a mental shield. She can repeal any vampire's mental gift."
Aro smiled proudly, looking at Bella with an almost gleeful smile. Bella smiled back at Aro, though still confused by what it means for her.
"Thank you, Eleazar. You may leave now," Aro said. Eleazar nodded, quickly striding out of the room, wanting to not stay in Aro's presence.
Aro and Bella turned to look at the other, taller man. He had long black hair, slicked back properly by some gel. His eyes red, glistening in the dim lights of the throne room. An almost mischievous and proud smirk on his face as he stood with his chin up in the air.

"James Warren," Aro nodded. "Master Aro," his husky voice sending a chill down Bella's spine. "You must be Mistress Isabella," James smirked, not letting Aro speak as he accessed the lady in front of him.
"I‐I am," Bella said, trying to sound confident but falling. "The rumours do no justice to your beauty, Mistress," James said, his smirk growing with each word.
"James, you shall not speak to your Mistress as such!" Aro exclaimed, warning the new guard. James smirked, turning gaze from Bella to Aro. "How can I do such a treason, Master," even though James was calling Aro 'master', he wasn't exactly obeying Aro.

CW: Contains mildly graphic scenes of violence/death, topics of unwanted pregnancy/abortion, scientific experimentation on sapient beings, depression/suicide, grief, and trauma. The tone of this fiction is often dark and distinctly dystopian in lighter shades of Margaret Atwood, though where there is darkness there is always hope and light. On Hiatus Until September When the School Year Begins and Mom This story takes a considerable amount of time and mental energy to complete. I thought I had enough backlog and time to post it as a serial while COVID kept my child home from school, but it turns out while I can quickly write other pieces, I cannot produce the quality I need with this one at an acceptable rate. We'll resume in September when my days are much freer. Thank you for your patience and stay tuned for a different storytelling romp more suited for a serial platform in the meantime.

8 107Promised - Tom Riddle x reader
Pairing: Tom Riddle x f!readerStatus: CompletedTotal word count: 43kSynopsis: In this story, Tom didn't grow up as an orphan, but with his grandfather and uncle. Reader's sister got very sick and the Gaunts offer their help. But not without asking for something in return. Disclaimer: Please be aware that I don't condone any of this in real life. Everyone deserves to be with a Neville kind of guy, but Tom's character is fun to explore.
