everyone got the sheet music, Rachel's mood instantly deflated as she looked down at it. "Excuse me, this isn't the right key." She stated, shoving her sheet into Schue's face.

"No, it's the mezzo-soprano key." She shot him a look as he simply shook his head and walked over to Brad.

"Yep. Dorothea's doing the solo,"

Tina gasped beside her and wrapped her in a tight hug, "w-we all know you're better than Rachel," Tina giggled quietly into her ear so it didn't cause Rachel to have a further breakdown. Artie gave her a fist bump as Tina let her go.

"I'm sorry, there must be some sort of mix-up. I thought I made it clear that anything from West Side Story goes to me. Maria is my part!" Rachel yelled, glaring at Dorothea who simply shrugged as Tina squeezed her hand, "Natalie Wood was a Jew, you know. I've had a deep, personal connection to this role since the age of one."

Schuester shrugged Rachel's tantrum off, "well, I'm trying to shake things up a bit. Get us out of our boxes."

Rachel took a deep breath, "you're trying to punish me."

"I think you're being irrational." Schue was finally honest for once as he called Dorothea over.

"I think you're being unfair!" Rachel yelled, pushing in front of the brunette.

"You can have a solo another time, Rachel." Dorothea sighed, making her way over to the piano as Schuester walked over to Rachel.

"I think you're being unfair to Dorothea, who looked pretty ecstatic to hear she was getting a solo," Schuester grumbled as Mercedes gasped in the back as she showed Kurt her sheet.

"I'm a... jet?" She asked, offended.

Rachel let out a groan as she frustratedly ran out of the room, her face covered in heavy frustration, her eyebrows furrowed, an expression Dorothea would need when upset, as the door slammed with a bang.

"Congratulations, Dorothea. This is going well." Schuester smiled as Mercedes congratulated the girl.

As her head was stuck on the pages of the book, the words delved and seeped into her brain as the outside world disappears beneath her perspective. "While I looked, I thought myself happy, and was surprised to find myself ere long weeping — and why? For the doom which had reft me from-" Tina's voice broke her trance.

"H-have you heard?" Tina sat beside her, as she slammed her book shut, her receipt as a bookmark sticking up from the top. Dorothea shook her head as Tina leaned in to tell her. "Rachel said she's skipping most of the club's rehearsals."

Dorothea could just imagine how her expression looked — and she had to be honest, she looked most likely bored. "I mean... what were we expecting?"

"S-s-she joined the school musical. C-carbet." Tina stuck her face into the palms of her hands as Dorothea softly patted her head.

"Surprised she knew what music they were performing," Dorothea shrugged as Tina looked up at her. "You're better than her anyway, T."

"Thank you, Thea."

She was back staring at the piano as she played the piano to the sheet music in front of her, trying to figure it how to make it sound at least decent. Dorothea could feel the anxiety mining itself down into her veins.

"You're very talented." She heard from behind her.

The Queen Bitch herself behind her, Quinn Fabray looked down on her. "Thank you." She flushed as she looked back down. The blonde took a seat beside her.

"Why did you come in here, Quinn?"

The blonde had sniffled slightly, "I figured it would be empty, I was wrong for once."

Quinn breathed in deeply, as Dorothea bit the inside of her cheek. "Are you okay?" Her voice was wavering as Quinn looked over to the rows of empty chairs.

Quinn nodded, placing her shaking hands on her lap. "Totally. It's none of your concern."

Dorothea placed a hand on Quinn's shoulder, an electric shock firing up her arm, "100% sure?"

Quinn let out a sob, her shoulders shaking a mile a minute, as she fell onto the brunette's shoulder. Dorothea felt herself freeze up as she rubbed the other girl's shoulder. "You don't need to tell me anything, Quinn."

"I'm pregnant."

The words hit the brunette like a double-decker bus. Her entire world crumbled around her as she hugged Quinn. "Don't tell a soul."

"Who would I tell? I won't tell anyone, and that includes Tina."

Quinn gave her a tight hug before getting up from the stingy piano, she reached the door. "I have to find Finn."

As she stood in the middle of the doorway, she took a deep breath as she spoke once more, softly and choked up. "Thank you."

Dorothea stood on the auditorium stage, trying to hit every note perfectly. She tried to belt the possible notes as Schuester stood off to the side, encouraging her for once in his sorry life. Tonight was engraved into her brain as she blew the very last fucking note.

"I blew it—I shouldn't have this... uhm—" She managed to splutter out as she wanted to bolt out of the auditorium doors.

Schuester made his way over to her. "You were fantastic! Good job!"

"You don't have to. I can't do this yet, I'm not ready."

"Hey, hey, look at me. Have you noticed how passionate you look when you sing? I— we need you to be great at the Regionals. To do that, you need to believe in yourself."

Dorothea grumbled as she let out a sigh, "You should probably give this solo to someone else. I'm taking one for the team. Someone specifically needs to learn how to do it."

Dorothea didn't wait for a possible answer as she turned to leave the stage, passing past Finn who gave her a dejected smile. She knew why.

And her heart was breaking because of it.

She didn't know what Quinn was doing about the child, and she honestly didn't want to at this point, the feelings Quinn must have been feeling may be so overwhelming.

She would never be in love with her now that she is having Finn's child.

Kurt told them about his incoming football match, and, as Kurt's friend, she had to be there to support him and never watch Quinn at all. She, Mercedes and Tina was off on the edges of the bleachers watching the Titans getting their asses ferociously kicked.

Soon after, though, the most outrageous thing happened. The quote-on-quote scary jocks started dancing to Single Ladies.

"Personally, if I were dating or even screwing any of these guys, I'd be a single lady after watching this," Dorothea told Mercedes and Tina as they ended in a fit of laughter, even though it wasn't that funny.

The opposing football team just stood there in shock and most likely flabbergasted, and didn't even get their reactions time on point as a football went flying. The teams were tied for once.

The game was sure to be ending soon, none of the girls had any idea of what was going on though, and they were sure neither did Kurt as he stepped up and did his single ladies bit. He kicked the ball and it surely went flying halfway across the pitch.

"Yes boy!" Mercedes yelled ferociously as Kurt looked in awe of himself at that very moment.

The match had ended.

As Dorothea looked down, she saw Quinn lean as far as she could up to kiss Finn. Out in the middle of the field, she knew Noah Puckerman saw it too.

She wanted to sob right at that very moment.

Burt Hummel had promised to give the girls a lift home, but after he and Mercedes practically sprinted over to congratulate Kurt first, leaving the goth and the brunette in the desolate parking lot.

"Tina?" Dorothea said, looking over at her best friend.

"Mhm?" The goth hummed as they sat on the grotty curb of the carpark.

Dorothea looked up at the darkened sky as it twinkled despite the artificial lighting, "I think I'm pansexual."

"I'm p-proud of you." Tina squeezed her tightly, "Anyone s-specifically makes you realise this?"

The brunette shook her head "they'll never know. And neither will you, Miss Cohen-Chang."

If only Tina did know what a mess she threw herself into over this.

Mr Schuester held the next glee club rehearsal on a Monday, giving her the weekend to try and perfect the song once more.

"Hey, guys! Let's give a big Glee welcome to our three new members, fresh off of their big win on Friday night — Noah Puckerman, Matt Rutherford and Mike Chang. Regionals, here we come!"

"Let's start today off with Tonight from West Side Story."

Rachel looked ecstatic at the idea, her expression swiftly changed within Schuester's next sentence.

"Dorothea, show us what you got." He smiled and patted her shoulder, motioning for the new members to take a seat.

Rachel looked like she could burn a hole in the back of the other brunette's head since she didn't get what she desired for once in her life.

As soon as Dorothea finished her number, Rachel stood up and stormed out once more. She may learn to stay out.

Meeting Quinn's eye, Dorothea tried to resist smiling as she made her way back to sitting between Tina and Artie. Tina shot her a strange look.

It was nothing, Dorothea mouthed to the goth.

And it will probably stay that way. She thought, biting her lower lip.
