《NaNoWriMo Bootcamp》Timeline

Our NaNoWriMo Bootcamp will officially begin October 1st and end on November 30th, with our marketing efforts going strong during the month of September. We hope you will consider joining us on this journey and helping us get the news out. Engage with us in the BCM Discord server (link in bio) or here on the profile.

We want to see as many writers turn out as possible, so this month we will focus on marketing and spreading the word. If you'd like to help us do this, there are many opportunities. Here are a few:

👉Promote the NaNoWriMo Bootcamp initiative on your social media platforms and announce it on your profile's message board.

👉Add this book to your library to make sure you're updated when new chapters are posted.

👉Tag your friends in this book and invite them to join in.

👉Join the Bootcamp Mentors Discord server. You can find the invite link if you scroll to the bottom of our bio.

👉Engage with us on Instagram @bootcampmentors

👉Follow and add their NaNo book to your library to make sure you get all their announcements.

This month will be all about preparing your mind, story, and work station for NaNoWriMo. Throughout the month, we will engage with the BCM and PIP communities through story discussions, brainstorming sessions, and writing challenges to keep everyone motivated. Inspirational gifs are encouraged.

These are meant to be fun and engaging. Not only are you likely to make friends, but you might come up with the next award winning story. Look for a chapter to appear in this book later this month.

Don't worry if you've never prepared a story ahead of writing it, or if you consider yourself a pantser. These discussions are intended to provide tips on working with a deadline, such as: scheduling writing time, brainstorming techniques, and preparing your writing space. If you're not interested in our story starter discussions, we will also have a where you can engage and share ideas with like-minded writers. We'll include a in this book as well where folks can post about their NaNo process and/or progress in the comment section.

We will talk about the importance of writing the summary before writing the story. Yes, this is a thing, and it can give you a basic road map to where you want to take your characters. If you've ever joined us for our Wattys summary workshop, you know how useful these are at helping you find plot holes and showing you where your story might be lacking 'oomph'. You'll be able to share your summaries in our on Discord, and look for our to appear in this book later this month.

Writing your story will be the focus during the month of November. The BCM and PIP communities will be there to support you through all of your high points, as well as your meltdowns. It's quantity over quality here folks. Even if you simply use the community to hold yourself accountable. We're here for you.

Daily writing sprints will take place in the of our Discord server to keep folks motivated. You will also find a chapter called in this book for folks who are not on Discord. Just post your writing sprint numbers in the comment section.

Cheer each other on with words of encouragement and funny pet memes in the of our Discord server. We will have a in this book as well, where writers can share links to their ongoing NaNo stories in the comments and coax each other through tough spots.

Another great way to keep your fellow writers motivated is to leave comments in the chapters of their NaNo stories as they're posted on Wattpad.

A will be set up for folks to share their successes when they reach the word count milestones of 10k, 20k, 30k, 40k, and 50k. Likewise, you will find a in this book where folks can post in the comments when they hit each milestone. This initiative will be run on the honor system.

The Bootcamp Mentors will be to writers who reach word count milestones (10k, 20k, 30k, 40k, and 50k). These awards will go to those writers who choose to share their ongoing NaNo story on the platform.

If you hit the 50k mark by midnight (your time zone) November 30th, the payoff is a big one. Not only will you have met the NaNoWriMo challenge, you will receive a from one of our BCM or PIP organizers. Again, this initiative will be run on the honor system, and writers must have their story posted on Wattpad in order to be eligible for the first chapter critique prize.
