Clan names usually have to do with their talent or where they live, like WindClan because they're really fast. Also, the clan's prefix is the same as its first leader, like how Wind Runner/Windstar founded WindClan. Of course, if your fan-fic has original Clans, this can be different as they may have a different history.

Let's say your clan lives on the beach. Name them "BeachClan" or "SandClan", not "OceanClan", because A: Cats call the ocean the "sun-drown place" and B: Do they live in the ocean? No. Also, there's a C: They have no idea what an ocean is.

You also wouldn't name a clan "RavenClan" 'cause that has nothing to do with the clan.

The Clan also needs a good territory. Some territories are:

Mountains

Moors

Forests

Beaches

territories are:

Underwater

In super extreme temperatures

There are probably more.

Also, being that there is more than one clan, the territories must fit together. You wouldn't have a desert next to snow-capped mountains!
