Whenever I sleep really well, I always have dreams and wake up remembering them. The night I was finally able to sleep I dreamed about my dad and it was a memory I'll never forget.
FIVE YEARS AGO
I had just thrown a 14 yard touchdown pass, my third of the game. There was 5 minutes left in the fourth quarter and as I trotted off the field, my 5th and 6th grade varsity coach told me I had done a great job and was done for the day. I made my way over to the bench and took a seat on the end. A few of the guys came up and congratulated me with pats on my shoulder pads or on the top of my head. I reached for a water bottle and began taking a few small sips when someone else patted me on the shoulder pad, but still hadn't let go and instead had left his hand resting on my shoulder.
Confused, I turned around. And to my surprise, my dad was standing there in his dress blues.
"Dad!" I yelled jumping up on top of the bench so I could quickly give him a hug.
He laughed and smiled, "Hey, Mi. Nice throw out there kid."
I pulled away from the hug and touched his face, so thankful he had returned home safely. Tears were streaming down my face and I couldn't stop smiling.
"Thank you. When did you get here?" I asked.
"I've been sitting up there in the stands with your mom the whole time," he pointed up towards the bleachers and when I turned to look my mom waved frantically with a camera in hand; she was just as happy as I was.
"I'm so glad you got to watch a game, Dad."

"Me too, kid."

After the game my dad took my mom and I out to dinner.
"I have some bad news, Mi," my Dad announced a few bites into our meal.
"What's up?" I asked, puzzled.
"I have to go back to Afghanistan."
I set my fork down and froze in my seat, mid bite. "Why? You just got home. And wasn't this last one supposed to be your last deployment?"
"Yes, it was. But they need me back to help some other Marines in the field. It should only be a few months."
"But why can't you stay here and help? Why can't you be home, where you're safe?" My voice began to shake as I spoke.
"Maya —" My mom leaned across the table and put her hand on top of mine to try to calm me down. She knew how much this bothered me.
"Dad, you know how proud I am that you serve our country but I'm not sure how much longer I can go without you being here," I softly stated, hanging my head so they couldn't see the tears that were beginning to run down my cheeks.
"Maya, I promise this is the last time."
And he was right, it was the last time.
Because he never came home.

Returning to No Applause, Only More of the Same
Kreig was summoned to the other world 130 years ago, the last 30 of which were spent in a constant, vengeful war against any army that would attempt to subjugate him. Once he returned, he found out that only 10 years had passed. He was given the title of War of the North but he never even knew about it. After all, nobody could get close enough to tell it to him. But that all changes one day when a portal opens, allowing Kreig and a small band of soldiers to enter one of many portals that leads to Earth. As it turns out these portals have been opening ever since he was summoned, giving the people of Earth abilities that the world he was summoned to only used to have. But now... now, he has returned. Longing for his former life of peace and understanding, he allows authorities to capture him on the spot, only to be faced with deeply personal questions, such as "who are you?" "what have you been doing for the past 10 years?" and "why is your level so high?" -------- ...Have you ever read a story where the main guy who got isekai'd returns to Earth. Say, for example, FFF-class trashhero or the necromancer of Seoul station? Say, what if the authorities actually became aware what kind of monster had returned to Earth? What if they actually tried to use them for something? Kreig's been in the other world for 130 years, has experienced three great wars, and he isn't okay. Mentally speaking, that is. He's been imprisoned, gained and lost comrades, been betrayed... The whole lot. By now, all he wants is to put it all behind him, something the world doesn't seem to want to let him. (Irregular updates, mostly written for fun, no strong planning)

Ocean Attuned - A timeloop LitRPG
In the mids of industrialization, Liana, a girl of almost twelve, awakens her flow and follows her newly awakened calling, the ocean, and thus the path of the last remaining god. With the advent of industry, one's status and the accompanying skills slowly grow to be secondary as people choose more recreational skills and classes. The clear exception are flow bringers. Humans with an increased affinity towards flow and attunements are the only real remnants of the age of gods and mysticism. Terrors on the battlefield, saints in hospitals, saviours during drought, are just some examples of the wonderous abilities they display. As civilization grows less dangerous so does the stress that is often associated with the awakening of the flow reduce and only the real talents remain. Please be aware that this is a first draft at best. Tag/Genre analysis: Action: A theme that will appear in the story at some point (probably 15+ chapters in) Adventure: Yes Fantasy: Yes Magic, Beasts, and other fantastical elements are totally at home here. Tragedy: Life is not always fun. For what is fun when there are no downsides. I don't know how heavily I am going to lean into this genre. I want to but don't expect too much. Loop: Yes, though I will not divulge anything else. Just be aware that there isn't nearly as much looping as in MoL for example. Female Lead: Yes, Liana is female. Dungeon: Yes, there are dungeons. Yes, they will get explored. LitRPG: Yes, read the first chapter if you want an example. Magic: most definitely because who doesn't like calling lighting down from the heavens. (Disclaimer: No actual lightning will be called down from the heavens) Mythos: There are gods. So maybe, I don't know if that is enough to qualify? Progression: yes Slice of Life: There is plot, and the story will mostly be about that plot, but there will also be downtime because there can't always be action. The first "loop" especially the first 20-30 chapters will be heavily SoL. And afterward there will be a lot less. Profanity: The ocean (see title) includes sailors and we all know how the stereotypical sailor is. Gore: Hmmm, some but I will have it be not graphic at all.
