My heart was racing as I tried to think of another play to call.
"C'mon, Callahan. Just call a play!" Gould shouted pointing towards the play clock.
"Ok, ok," I said right as one popped in my head. I told them the play and broke the huddle quickly.
Coach already knew what was happening and we could all hear him screaming from the sideline. Lucky for us he had no timeouts so he couldn't call one to chew us out.
I snapped the ball and the play was executed perfectly. We were now on our 32 yard line with about 3 minutes left.
Now I could hear Coach yelling at our starting quarterback, Nathan Carter, but no one was coming in for me which was weird.
I called the next play that put us on our 22. We had plenty of time to play so I chose a running play that got us a good field position.
The guys were fired up.
"Hold up guys," I spoke up before the next play, "we haven't won yet so let's focus and finish this up."
"No we haven't, but we're gonna win," Jared spoke up as all of the seriousness came back to everyone.
I smiled to myself and called another running play. We needed to eat up some of the clock so if we did score and they got the ball back they wouldn't have a lot of time to try to score.
I looked up at the clock. We just got the first down, we were on our own 10, and there was 1:43 left on the clock. Still a lot of time but we were going to score on this play, I could feel it.
"Ok, here it is," they all knew what I was referring to as I called a passing play -- a fade to the corner, right into Jones' hands.

I broke huddle and everyone got to their spots. I was sweating and my heart was racing but I took a deep breathe, studied the defense, and snapped the ball.
I turned immediately and flung the ball at Jones. The pass was right on but it slipped through his hands.
2nd down.
My mind was racing as Jones trotted back to the huddle.
"I'm sorry guys, my bad. That was mine."
"We're good," someone else spoke up.
I thought about what we were going to run and then it came to me. The play we ran at practice. I called it and everyone ran to their spots.
I hiked the ball, stepped back, faked one way, and hit Jones coming back down, wide open, for the touchdown.

Orc Lord
A young woman just starting out in life is killed tragically in a car accident. However, she soon regains consciousness as a baby in a fantasy world. But... she's an Orc?! It would be good if she could just enjoy her new life quietly, but she seems destined for war and carnage. How will she fare as a monster in a fantasy world? ________________ This story will have a total of three arcs: Arc 1, The Birth of Babylon: 571 pages (complete) Arc 2, The Baphomet War: 420 pages (complete) Arc 3, The Mad Queen of Carnage: (in progress) ________________ Ultimately, I'm writing this for enjoyment. If you enjoy it too, fantastic! Gore: Extremely infrequent, but moderately intense. Profanity: There are a few swear words here and there, as well as some more creative insults. Traumatizing Content: While I'm at it, there are some questionable morals displayed (mostly after chapter 77). So far we can check off slavery, brainwashing, war, and genocide. This story starts off very Light Novel-ish because I was reading a lot of them at the time. The writing style gradually matures as it goes. Sorry, but I don't have the stamina to go back and fix everything, even if I know it gets pretty roughshod at times. New readers, please keep in mind, I make use of "unreliable narrators" at times. My story accepts donations, but it is free to read and I've only uploaded it here. Lastly, Orc Lord is a member of the WriTEr's Pledge, which means I have sworn to see it through to a satisfying ending. One of my long breaks triggered a dishonor, but I'll redeem it someday when it's actually finished. I'm the ultimate necromancer author. ;P
