It was past 3 AM and Tin was walking the streets of Bangkok aimlessly. His bloodied shirt, bloodshot eyes and messy hair make him look like a character out of a zombie horror movie. He saw a police station nearby and did not hesitate to go in.

He talked to the police officers on duty to report what has happened to Can. He gave full details of the story, starting from when he accumulated his debt with Tharn and Tul, up to the bloody assault they did on Can.

He stayed at the police station to wait for the hospital's official visiting hours so the police can come in and take Can's side of the story. Meanwhile, the police already started their manhunt for the suspects.

9 am and Tin still hasn't slept yet. His stomach growled out of extreme hunger but he couldn't seem to feel any physical pain. He sat by the same corner in the waiting area of the hospital as last night, as the police officers talked with Can and N'Lay inside the room.

Tin then saw N'Lay leave the hospital with the police. That was his cue to go in and check on Can.

He stood outside the door of Can's room, contemplating whether he should come in or not. He badly wanted to check on Can's condition but he is so overwhelmed with extreme guilt and regret. The door opened as Can's nurse came out.

"Sorry sir, but only family members are allowed inside." The nurse tried holding Tin out, Tin stepped back, feeling already defeated before he could even make a step forward.

"That's fine, Ms. Nurse. He is a Family. Please let him at" Can uttered in a very weak voice. He couldn't see who it was but it could only either be Ai'No or Tin, he thought. The nurse apologized to Tin and left immediately

Tin walked into the room and went straight beside Tin. He held his hand and Slowly brushed it with his fingers. Can looked so badly beaten up. Tin could barely look at Can's lace, swollen black and blue.

"Tin" Can smiled.

"How did you know?" Tin asked.

"Your touch," Can answered. "I just know it." It gave Tin a small shy smile on his face.

"How are you feeling Can?" Tin asked. He clasped his hand with Can's.

"I feel like I am not in my body." Can let out a weak chuckle. Tin could not believe that even after what he went through, Can could still smile through it all.

"What's that foul smell? Is that you?" Can asked, scrunching his nose a bit. Tin remembered he still hasn't showered. His clothes reek of dried blood, sweat and tears.

"Oh, yeah. Sorry. I still haven't showered yet since last night" Then there was a long pause. "Can, I'm so sorry." Tin started to tear up again. "I'm really very sorry. This could not have happened to you if not because of me."

Can squeezed Tin's hand gently. "You didn't do this to me"

"But I brought it to you.' Tin replied. 'They were after me, not you. I should be the one lying on this bed. I should be the one with those bruises and wounds, not you"

"I don't blame you, Tin. So quit crying" Can assured him. "My sister is with the pace now; they'll soon get the people who hurt me."

Tin was speechless. He sobs quietly beside Can.

"You reported it to the police last night, right?" Tin answered a soft yes. "If you didn't come and find me last night, I could have been dead by now..."

"And my heart would have died with you there, Can." Tin's sobs became louder again "I will never ever forgive myself if that happened to you'"

"I'm really so sorry, Can. For everything. You don't deserve this. You don't deserve me." Tin said as he removes his hand from Can's. "I will keep on causing you to hurt and pain if you keep you with me."

"All the things that cause us pain, teaches us" Can uttered in a soft voice.

Tin took out CAN's phone from his pocket and handed it to him.

"Why Turning Page?" Tin referred to his ringtone saved in Can's phone.

"I guess I just liked the melody," Can answered.

"It was fucking sad as hell.' Tin replied.

"I surrender who I've been for who you are

For nothing makes me stranger than your fragile heart

If I had only felt how it feels to be yours

Well I would have known

What I've been living for all along

What I've been awing for"

CAN sang a few lines from the song. Tin closed his eyes, his hurt started to hurt even more.

"I really like it' Tin uttered. "I really do."

Can gave him a sad little smile

"I'd better keep going Can," Tin spoke as he wiped his tears. "I promise I will make the people who did this to you pay for everything" There's a slight sternness in his tone.

"Can you stay a little longer... Please?" Can asked. He knew that their number of days together is already numbered. When he's fully recovered, he will have to fulfill his promise to his family to go back home to Chiang Mai been where he would spend his last few months to live. He just couldn't waste his precious time left with Tin.

"Okay," Tin reeked, holding Can's hand again.

"Your love is my turning page

Where only the sweetest words remain"

The song kept repeating in Tin's head. Like a lullaby laming his stormy heart. Like a gentle whisper appeasing his troubled soul and being.

All the things that cause us pain, teaches us. Tin didn't know Can was the pain he needed to learn to start finding his way back.

When Can was back to his sleep, Tin left the hospital and went to Ai'Nic to shower and get changed. Tin readied all his bags and before leaving, he left Ai'Nic a written note at the fridge.

THANK YOU, BROTHER, FOR EVERYTHING.

IT'S TIME TO FIND MY WAY BACK HOME.

That same evening, Tin stood right in front of their house, all his bags in tow.

He took out his phone and dialed his mom's phone number.

"Tin?" His mom answered on the other line.

There was a long silent pause before Tin could speak.

"Mom... I'm so sorry." His voice broke as he hiccups through his silent sobs. His shoulders started to shake and his knees trembled weakly.

"My son..." Mrs. Medthanan replied.

Change sure does not happen overnight. But we often underestimate that in the course of one night, we could change so many things in our lives.

Tin was finally back at home. After talking to his mom and have apologized, he promised to be better for her.

He promised not to live the path he used to lead and to do his best so that someday, he could make her proud.

Tin has also confessed to his closest friends about his growing feelings of love and affection for Can, has never felt freer and more liberated.

He doesn't feel afraid and lonely anymore, having such supportive and open-minded friends by his side.

And as he slowly discovers this part of him that he never knew was there all along, he has never felt more complete in his entire life.

He is in love. And he is ready.

But he just isn't sure yet where to start...
