"Not you again!" The school counselor exclaimed upon seeing Tin's face in his office. "Hi there, Mr. Phun. I missed you too." He waved and smiled at the balding professor. "Usually we only give three warnings and two offense strikes before we kick out a student from this school. This is your... 8th strike Mr. Medthanan. 8th strike! And we are barely halfway the school year." Mr. Phun scolded Tin.

"Got it." Tin replied, as he chews on his gum. "Can I go now?' He pointed to the door. "Not so fast Mr. Medthanan." The teacher called him. "Sit down." He pointed to the small black leather couch on the side of his office. Tin let out a deep sigh before slumping himself on to the couch.

Tin's mother arrived just in time, proceeding immediately to shake Mr. Phun's hand as soon as she entered the door. "Chairman Medthanan, thank you for your time." Mr. Phun greeted her. "What did my problematic son do again this time?" She asked, giving Tin sharp death stares. The glistening diamonds on her neck and earlobes just added more to the fierce intimidating effect she has on people. "One Of his classmates was rushed to the school clinic this morning due to a broken collarbone." Mr. Phun started explaining. "I honestly didn't know the chair will hit him that hard." Tin interrupted, defending himself. "You threw a chair to one of your classmates?!?" Tin's mom shouted at him in disbelief. Tin's mom continues "l really doesn't know what to do to you anymore. You are embarrassing me Infront of everyone!". "But I honestly didn't---" Tin tried explaining again only to be interrupted by his mom's palm hitting his face.

"Why are you like this?" Mrs. Medthanan voice were shaking due to her anger. "This will be the last time you're causing any trouble, Tin." "Mr. Phun" her eyes shifted towards the shocked teacher. "Make sure you give him a serious punishment this time. Make him clean the school ground every day you want. If he doesn't comply, let me know immediately and I will be the one to kick my son out of my school." Her voice was intense and serious. "Yes, Madamme Chairman." Mr. Phun replied, before Tin's mother left the Office, without even looking at her son. Tin was left speechless and hurt. He softly rubs his now red cheek with the back of his hand. "I'm sorry Tin." Mr. Phun told his student. He tried to come closer to him but the kid hurriedly walked out the door without saying a word.

Can waits patiently inside Mr. Phun's office, fiddling with his new iPhone listening to music via earphones. The classes start at 8 but he was already in school by 7. His new dorm is only five blocks away from school, a good 15-minute walk on a still unbusy early morning. It didn't take long until Mr. Phun arrived. He entered his office and got a little surprised by the person already seated comfortably on the couch.

"Good morning." He greeted the student. He repeated his greeting before realizing that the boy could not see him, and could not also hear him because of his loud earphones. He walked towards Can to tap his shoulder. Can was startled, he almost dropped his phone. He composed himself, took his earphones off and stood up. "I'm so sorry, teacher. I did not notice you were already here." He bowed politely while apologizing. "It's okay son. Sit down." Mr. Phun replied. "So, you're Can, right?" He asked, and Can nodded. "And today's your first day in a normal coed-school, am I right?' He places his bag on his table and walked straight to Can, sitting on the chair Infront of him.

"Yes, sir. I have always wanted to experience a normal school since Elementary. I am very excited." Can answered happily. "Good. Well I have already informed your new teachers for this school-year. I have requested them to provide you with extra attention and guidance." Mr. Phun said happily "l really appreciate that sir. But the main reason why I always wanted to go to a normal school is to finally feel like a normal student---like just any ordinary boy. No extra treatments, no extra effort and attention." Can explained "l see. " Mr. Phun replied."But well, you must at least have a close student guide with you. I have someone assigned to you starting today. He will walk you through the usual activities here in school, he will tell you about the people and the campus culture, and will show you around the school premises. He's basically your tour guide- slash-side kick, if you may." He partly chuckled.

"Oh, what a very pleasant surprise!" Mr. Phun suddenly exclaimed as soon as he saw Tin enter his office. "You arrived just perfectly on time." Tin rubs the back of his head and yawns un-apologetically, his eyes still look very sleepy. He stood closely beside the student Mr. Phun was just talking too. "Tin, this is our school's new transferee, Can Kirakorn." He introduced. "Can, meet your close student guide, Tin Medthanan." Can faced to his right side, and went for a deep bow, only to accidentally headbutt Tin hard in his forehead. It was a loud solid clack. "Ouch!" Tin cried out in pain, rubbing his forehead. "I'm really so sorry. I apologize." Can panicked, while he too, rubbed his forehead with his left hand. "What the---are you freakin' blind or something?" Tin snickered, a little too late to notice Can's blank gaze and his pale blue-gray eyes. His face blushed upon realizing.

"Yes, I am blind."
