《(TinCan) I Hate U.》unexpected

The next morning, Can woke up and didn't see Tin. He shot up really fast to take a gather around. Tin was nowhere to be found. Where could he be? Why did he just disappear like that? Is he playing a joke? Is he at the lake? Can shivered. What if some kind of animal came and grabbed him? What if….
Can spotted Tin walking towards him. Tin was not alone though, he was with another older man, carrying a fishnet with some fresh fishes still dangling from it.
Can quickly ran to them.
Can - Tin! You found someone!
Tin - (smiled and nodded) I went to the lake to wash my face and he was over there. His name is Mr. Will.
Can held on to the older man's hand happily.
Can - hello sir! oh my God! we're so glad to see you!
Mr. Will chuckled.
Mr. Will - don't worry, your friend Tin here already tell me what happened. You must be Can. I just couldn't believe that this world is so cruel. It's a miracle that you guys are still alive.
As the two boys followed Mr. Will to a small village, they gasped at all the straw houses. Chickens were running everywhere as kids chasing them, the ladies were feeding their pigs and goats... everything was like the old style of the old days.
Can - wow… I wouldn't have known that people still live like this.
Mr. Will - yeah, we still do. Living like this is quite peaceful.
Tin nodded in agreement.
Mr. Will - you guys probably hungry to death. Here, I'll take you guys to the rest area so you can have something to drink while I go grab some food for ya.
Can - (smiled crazily) yyyyyyesssss….Foooooooddddddd.
After they finish eating, Can was looking around at the area while Tin was busy washing his mouth with water.

Can - dude, come on. What are you doing? Quit wasting water.
Tin - (place the cup back on the rack) oooyy… (annoyed) I want to brush my teeth so bad.
Can laughed at that.
Tin - (stared at Can with darted eyes) what? We haven't brush our teeth for 2 days and a half now.
Can - (puts his hands up in the air.) and I'm not saying anything against that. I do smell like crap too.
Mr. Will - how's the food? Do you guys like it?
Can and Tin turned to Mr. Will who came with two girls about 6 to 7 years of age.
Can - it's really good thank you, sir.
Mr. Will - these two are my two granddaughters, Rose and Lily. Say hi to the brothers, girls.
Rose & Lily - Hello.
Can - (puts on his friendliest smile) hi! Nice to meet you both--
The girls ran past Can and went straight to Tin. Tin, on the other hand, was kneeling down to them.
Rose - big brother, you're so handsome.
Lily - (poked on Tin's cheek) your skin is so white. What is your name, big brother?
Tin - (smiled) my name is Tin.
Can gawked at the unexpected sight.
Mr. Will - I'm actually going to drop them off to school. do you guys want to join me to the market afterward?
Can - (surprised) there's a market?
Mr. Will - (nodded) the only way to get to it is through motorboat.
Can - (eyes widen) Then, can you send us home?
Tin looked up to Mr. Will, curious about what he's going to say.
Mr. Will - (shook his head) here to Krung Thep {Bangkok} will take probably 7 to 8 hours. My motorboat is not strong enough to go for a long distance. The only way you guys can go back home is the boat station but of course, it's going to cost money.

Can frowned to the fact that they don't have money. The gangs that kidnapped them took their money and phones. Phone?
Can - Is there any way we can let our family know that we're okay? Like a telephone?
Mr. Will nodded.
Mr. Will - The boat station has one. We can go over there.
Can - (nodded happily) yes, thank you.
As they dropped off the two little girls to school, Tin and Can were shocked by how the school looks. It's a wooded small cabin and the students were all different ages. Some were adults, teens, and kids like Rose and Lily but they all learn the same level of grade.
Lily and Rose turned back to Tin.
Lily & Rose - bye-bye brother Tin! See you later!
Tin waved them goodbye while Can was gaping at him. Tin noticed Can and looked at him.
Tin - what?
Can - you have such a cold face, I don't know why the girls like you.
Tin - girls with that age…(nodded at the girls who was already with their teacher.) They're honest about who they like--especially a hot guy like me.
Can wanted to vomit but as soon as he noticed that Tin had a slight change of facial...he soften his face. Tin looked kind of sad...
Tin - they remind me of my niece.
Can - (grabbed onto Tin's arm and pulled him little to him) Ai Tin...dodododon't worry. You are going to reunite with your niece soon.
Tin tried to smile but he couldn't.
Tin - you're right. (Said softly) let's go.
Tin pulled his arm out of Can's hold and walked to where Mr. Will was. Can followed behind, observing Tin from the back. Something is definitely off, Can was sure of it.

Of Gods and Dungeons
March 16, 2021 - Hiatus note: I will come back to this story! I'm really struggling with it, though. It's been a number of years and I kind of forgot what the original outline was. I still remember the main path, but not any of the details, because I stupidly didn't write an outline. Progress is being made. I'd like a very decent sized buffer before I start posting again. Don't want to get hopes up only to immediately disappoint! ----- Amy Barnes, an aspiring chemical researcher, finds herself dying from cancer. One of her most desperate prayers is answered in a way that she'd never dreamed possible, and she finds herself living a new life as a dungeon. Warning: Violence, morbidity Cover: Taken from here, courtesy of www.pexels.com by photographer @tookapic. Author's Note: I've read some dungeon core stories on here, and they've tickled my fancy. I've thought up a whole story, start to finish, and thought it'd be a blast to put it into words. Other than the violent and morbid aspects, this story is suitable for children. Aside from the vocabulary, that is. I will avoid the temptation to have any cursing, sexuality, or gore. Excessive gore, I suppose - it is a dungeon story, after all. I’ll do a little research from time to time, but this story will not have a great deal of rigor. I’ve made Amy’s knowledge comparable to my own for that reason. There’s a few things she knows more about than I do, and a few things that she knows less about. Unlike me, she doesn’t have access to Google - it’s a non issue for her to be more knowledgeable than me, on occasion :P This story does not use the same magic system that I’ve used in either Sorcery in Boston or A Summoner’s Confession. This one is mostly intention based, and designed to be easier access for people who are more used to the idea of, “It’s magic, therefore it works” kind of thinking. Do note that Amy is, in most senses of the term, overpowered. This goes along with the usual dungeon core stories. She’s not more powerful than other dungeons per se, but she does have knowledge and intelligence that puts them to shame. I thought about doing this in a LitRPG style, but systems take balance, and I wanted this to be pure fun to write. This story was inspired from a few sources. Despite the title, it wasn’t really inspired by Of Mice and Men, though some of the themes match. Rather, I’ve taken inspiration from a few dungeon core novels on Royal Road Legends for the main idea. Many conventions of dungeon core stories have been perverted from the genre, however. I’ve taken my usual science-loving self to town to play around with the powers, and I can only hope you have half as much fun reading this as I have had writing it.

Aethernum—Cradle of Yore
Diary Number 999, year I-don't-care, location home. Parenting. Of all I've found clear answers except for this most mundane topic. And not for the lack of trying. My library, so humongous my good friends told me one after the other there is no book it doesn't contain helped little. There are crumbling tomes of ancient magic, vocabularies depicting the evolution of the magical language itself, grimoires and holy bibles of cults long past, rows and rows filled with scrolls bearing the efforts of my magical research, contracts, diaries, letters and more. But parenting? There was none. Yet a struggle nearly every member of the Races is not foreign to. I...must have lived under a rock. Across aeons no less. What a humbling revelation.
