《Agere Academy》surprise and comfort

when I got back from school and entered the apartment with daddy, he grinned at me. "I have a surprise for you, angel." I liked him calling me angel. It felt nice. "Here you go." He handed me a pair of white sparkly headphones. They were so pretty!! I put them on, and I looked at daddy and noticed I couldn't hear him. Noise-cancelling!! I hugged him. "Thank oo." I wished my brain would let me speak properly. I sat down on a chair and opened my coloring book. Daddy looked surprised. "You want to colour?" I nodded and picked up my markers. Coloring was fun, and I was super good at art. For some reason, I felt bored quickly.
"Daddy, I bored.." He sighed.
"How about we go on a play date with some of your friends?"
I looked down at my feet. "Don't have friends.." I said really quietly.
"What was that, princess?"
I looked up, angry tears forming in my eyes. "I DON'T HAVE ANY FRIENDS!"
daddy looked shocked and he flinched at me yelling. "We don't yell, princess."
I nodded and wiped the tears away. He pulled me onto his lap. "I'll help you make friends. I'll invite my friends, and their littles. Sound good?" I nodded. Nobody liked me in that class though.
Daddy dressed me up in a cute froggie outfit and helped me pull on my green welly boots. Then he took my hand and led me out of the house. We went to a strange place, it was all colorful. It looked like a daycare or something. It was full of other littles, and I spotted Rose. I turned to daddy angrily. "Why is she here?"
"Who?"
I pointed at Rose. Daddy laughed. "Rose won't harm you, sweetie. This is for everybody to enjoy." I nodded hesitantly. "Go play with somebody, and if they're mean to you, come back to me. I'll keep you safe."

I felt reassured with him around and watching, so I cautiously wondered over to the ballpit, and I stood there, deciding if I should go in. But I couldn't make a choice, or, I didn't have time to. Someone from behind shoved me into the pit, and I screamed loudly as I drowned in the ballpit. My mind flashed back to a similar experience that happened when I was a toddler. I closed my eyes and breathed slowly, trying to keep calm.
I heard a panicked scream behind me. I could only see the bottom of the ballpit. Someone scrabbled around behind me, and I screamed too. Then, daddy's hands pulled me out of the ballpit. He quickly set me down on the floor and I whined again. "Pick me up!" He quickly picked me up and cuddled me close. "Dada, can you play with me instead?" He nodded.
"Where do you want to play?"
I pointed to an area with dinosaurs. One little boy was over there, but otherwise it was empty.
He set me down there, and I moved the dino around, talking to it fondly. I got thirsty after a while. I looked at daddy firmly. "Daddy. i is thirsty."
"I didn't pack a drink-"
"Thirsty."
Daddy picked me up and walked around the daycare, asking people where the drinks were. He found some milk bottles, and handed one to me. "No milk."
"Please, Georgia, that's all they've got."
I clamped my lips shut. He shook his head and put the bottle down. I started crying again. This place was dumb, no food and no drinks except milk. Daddy looked frustrated and gently rocked me. "Calm down, baby. How about we go play again?"
I nodded. I guess..

I think Georgia was regressed again. She instantly became more needy and emotional when she was regressed. I liked it, but right now I was tired after stressing about her health at school. I had an idea to cheer her up. Tickles never failed. I set Georgia down on the floor by the dinosaurs. "Watch out!"
She looked scared and I fought back a laugh. "The tickle monster is here!"
I tickled her stomach, making her giggle and squeal. "S-stop!" she squeaked, barely able to get it out.
I carried on ticklimg her, and when I stopped, she had a smile on her face. I hugged her close and whispered in her ear. "You mean the world to me, angel."
She blushed hard and squeaked out a "me too."
Eventually, it started to clear out, and I decided it was time for us to go too. I picked Georgia up and carried her out of the daycare. "W-where we going?"
"Were going home. It's dark out."
It was dark out, and she got kinda scared. "It's okay, I will protect you from the bad, bad monsters."
Georgia giggled and stopped being scared.
I entered the house and took off her wellies. I knew what to do. "How would my little angel like to paint her nails?"
Georgia nodded her head happily.
"What color?"
"Pastel yellow?"
Daddy went to get my pastel yellow nail polish and quickly came back. "Toes as well?" I nodded and wiped my hands on my dress quickly, then held them out to daddy. He painted my nails carefully, and they looked pwetty. He then did my toes, and I wiggled them around, pleased. I waited 5 minutes and then they dried. Daddy heated up some angel milk and gave me a cookie. I took them and he suddenly placed me on his lap. I almost spilled milk on my nails and glared at him. "Daddy, that was almost a disaster." he smiled at me, not taking me seriously. "Sorry, angel."
He switched on some cartoons, the Powerpuff Girls. I didn't particularly enjoy it, but it was okay. The time passed and it was almost bedtime. "Princess, remember the essay you were meant to write? Maybe you should do a bit more."
Writing an essay was boring. But I had no choice, so i agreed. I managed to write a whole page today, but I still needed another one. Daddy looked proud. "Brush your teeth then time for bed." I bounced up off the seat and ran to the bathroom and brushed my teeth.
When I went back into my bedroom, daddy had laid out some fluffy teddy bear pj's. I put them on quickly. I looked at daddy for him to kiss me goodnight, but he kissed my bunny stuffie instead. "No, you did it wrong!" I went around all my stuffies and hugged them goodnight. Daddy laughed and brought me close. "Now time for your goodnight kiss." He kissed me on the nose and hugged me tight. "Goodnight, princess."
"Gnight, dada." I felt to tired to speak, as I crawled into bed and burrowed under the covers.

The Ingress Estate
Jonathon Eucole. Soldier. Scholar. Now an Initiate, the dedication without dedication, he finds himself both prisoner and master of an arcane edifice, the Ingress Estate, which can neither be escaped, nor controlled; only diverted, maintained, and pacified. This is a gothic fantasy story, set in a world in which gods and the afterlife are not only real and known, but were both established in living memory of some of the inhabitants after millennia of arcane warfare with the being who constructed the mundane reality the humans occupy. But this isn't the story of those who colonized the afterlife at the cost of their own humanity, but a somewhat more ordinary man, in somewhat extraordinary circumstances. This is also a LitRPG-lite, which means there's a system of sorts, fragments of which can be observed through Jonathon's eyes. Don't expect level-up screens, or statistics, or indeed numbers much at all, beyond those the inhabitants of the world itself apply to understanding their own reality. It pretty much doesn't matter to the story, I mention it so those who don't want to read LitRPG at all can successfully avoid it here. I don't have any particular plan here, just some ideas inherent in the genre. This is a character concept I toyed with some years ago; an old man, bright of mind but weighed down into apathy, both by his past and his responsibilities for a terrible estate that cannot be left without stewardship. Don't expect any kind of overarching plot or story, because that's really not what this is about. Also don't expect much dialogue. Or character development. Or much of anything, really, because I've planned nothing in the way of an actual book, here. Other relevant information, if you've read this far for some reason: The MC isn't super-powerful to begin with, and probably never will be. He's a veteran with some useful skills, and the insight on how to use them, so can deal with the world's ordinary threats reasonably well, but not too much beyond that. --- Currently on hiatus, as currently the story has a rather poor ratio of effort-to-personal-payoff. I may return to this once I have a clear idea of how to get the stories where I want them. I've started a more standard LitRPG using the same system. But if you like intelligence characters who cleverly min-max their classes, it probably isn't the story for you; it's the story of a rather ordinary guy who winds up in a very similar universe.
