Georgia's Daddy POV
Rose's Daddy, Matthew pulled Rose out of class and we went to their apartment flat. It was nice, modern and classy, but amidst my anger I noticed Rose had a playpen. I needed to get more babyish furniture for Rose. They also had a highchair. Matthew had no clue what was going on, and I didn't say a word until we sat down on their white leather sofa. It had juice stains on it. Haha.
"Rose, did you steal all of Georgia's stuffies when you came over to our house?" Matthew looked shocked and Rose burst into tears. I had no time for her crying.
"Rose, answer Sam." Matthew said.
She kept crying, and I just got annoyed. "Matthew, where's Rose's room?" He pointed to a room down the hallway, and then he pulled Rose onto his lap to comfort her. I entered Rose's room. It was very pink, like Georgia's room, although I was going to change it sooner, sooner because she was upset over the Rose situation. Rose had a princess bed though. She was quite spoilt, but she still didn't have any stuffies.
I searched her room, and under her bed I found 4 of Georgia's stuffies. I'm guessing the last one was on Rose's person. I stormed back into their living room, holding Georgia's stuffies. Rose was playing in her playpen. This girl was so spoiled I can't even-
Matthew called Rose over, and when Rose saw me holding Georgia's stuffies she started trembling. I shoved them in her face. "Why did you steal from my baby?"
Rose buried her face into Matthew's shirt. I wasn't going to get anywhere with this anytime soon, but I knew Matthew was a big softie and would let her get away with murder.

Rose finally calmed down, and Matthew bribed her with sweets. Rose 100% was a daddy's girl. "I-i stole from Georgia because s-she had stuffies to cuddle and I had noth-nothing.."
I shook my head in disbelief. "You could've told Matthew. He spoils you rotten. He'd get you anything."
Matthew frowned at me and cuddled Rose. "I-im sorry, I just wanna be fwends with Georgia ag-again." I think she was slipping into little space out of fear and sadness.
I nodded and took my coat. "Matthew can we talk?" He nodded and placed Rose in the playpen with a doll that looked ugly as hell.
"Matthew, you need to be more strict on Rose. At this rate, she's going to think everyone will do what she wants. She'll do bad things and then face no consequences."
Matthew rubbed his forehead like he had a headache. "I don't want to punish her. I know I'm a big softie, but I can't. I don't want her to hate me if I give her a punishment."
"Matthew, she needs guidance. Go easy at first, and don't forget the aftercare. Discuss your rules and punishment wit her."
He nodded and quickly smiled at me. Matthew didn't really show affection to anyone except Rose. I grabbed my coat and left. I hoped Matthew would do the right thing and punish her. I grabbed Rose's stuffies on the way out and kinda slammed the door a little too hard. I ran to my next class, which was tips on how to be a caregiver. I'd comfort Georgia soon.
V
I played in my playpen happily when suddenly Sam went out and slammed the door. I forced myself to cry. I hated Rose's Daddy for being mean to me. My Daddy was a little stern with me. "Princess, no fake tears. You did a bad thing today." I wiped away my tears and pouted up at him. He sighed.

"We've discussed rules, rewards and punishments before, but I've never actually punished you. Go in timeout for 10 minutes, and think about what you've done."
He picked me up and I kicked him, whining and struggling. He placed me on a small chair in the corner, and adjusted me so I faced the corner. I tried to get up, but he held me down. "No getting out of this one, Rose."

Delicate as Glass
[participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge] Nuri, an [Assistant Glassworker], only has a single Skill. It’s really not fair. He’s worked in the hot shop his entire life, following in his father’s footsteps after his parents passed away, but he’s stuck. Despite possessing above-average talent as an artisan, he still hasn’t shed his [Assistant] status, gained a second Skill, or even leveled enough to reach the first Threshold. Besides, he’s bored; most days he daydreams of adventure and becoming a hero, or pines for the renown that’s sure to be his if he evolves his Class into a [Master Glass Smith], but nothing ever changes—until suddenly, fate strikes, and nothing is ever the same again. These days, Nuri sees more magic, prestige, and adventure than he can handle as he gets swept up in realm-shaking conspiracies and desperate fights for his life. Maybe a boring life wasn’t so bad after all. Disclaimers: 1) Names were mostly chosen through random generators and aren’t necessarily final. If they seem derivative or boring, blame RNG. 2) Skills, Classes, levels, and the entire system is currently a work in progress; please be kind if it’s not very well fleshed out yet. 3) This is the first full-length novel I've set out to write without a single plot point ready. I had nothing in mind other than a recent visit to a hot shop. Molten glass is pretty awesome. 4) Related, I know much less about glass than I’d like. I did some research, but mistakes are bound to happen. If you have a correction, thanks! Please be polite about it. 5) The prose is my experimental attempt at first-person, present tense. I realize it may not be everyone’s preference, but I hope you’ll give it a try anyway!
