The rest of the day went quickly by with weary children suddenly finding energy as the last school bell rang and they went charging out the door.
A weary body sank down in her chair and she sighed with relief.
"Hey" Gavin's smiling face came through the door "you still alive?"
She grinned.
"Yep. I made it. A whole day!"
Gavin laughed at her and the mock way she wiped her brow.
"Come on, I'll walk you out."
The pair chatted about their day while they walked to the office and signed off for the day. There they had a quick conversation with the assistant principal Anne Robb about plans for the younger classes before leaving the building.
Gavin guided her with a hand on her arm and while it didn't feel quite right she didn't want to upset him by pulling away.
Jax lent back against the car with his arms folded. Russell was busy on a car that was needed that afternoon so he wasn't able to pick Cori up as he said he would.
His eyebrow raised as he watched the pair walk towards the carpark. The feelings he had from seeing Cori were overshadowed by the hand that was on her.
Cori noticed Jax and grinned at him feeling slightly light headed at the smirk she received back.
Gavin looked between the pair and the light dawned. He dropped his hand and moved away.
"You're with him?"
"Still deciding" she answered truthfully.
He gave her a cheeky grin.
"So there's still a chance for me then?"
"Not a chance" Jax walked up to them and bending down he kissed Cori on the cheek.
"Hi babe. Ready?"
He reached for her hand and pulled her to the car behind him. In true gentleman style he opened the door for her and helped her inside before leaning in to lace the seatbelt across her.
He stopped for a moment as he felt her breath on his cheek and turned to look at her.

"Fúck I missed you today."
His mouth landed on hers for a swift and possessive kiss before he moved away.
Closing the door he looked towards Gavin who'd been watching their interaction. Yep, now he knew that Cori was taken and if he was too thick headed to realise that well, he and Russell would deal with him later.
"Hey babe" he said while starting up the car "do you want to go straight home or go to the garage?"
"Oh, I'd really like to see how things are going with my car."
"Garage it is." He put the car into gear and drove away from the school, asked her about her day and if it was what she thought it would be.
"I love it. It's exhausting but it's great. I feel sorry for one little boy though."
"Oh? Why's that?"
"Well, he doesn't have everything he needs..."
"His name wouldn't be Jobe would it?"
She looked at him in surprise.
"Yeh it is but how..."
"Jobe's family... well let's say school supplies are at the bottom of their list of importance."
"Oh... that's sad."
"Yep. But those kids are proud and won't take any help."
"How many are there?"
" Seven. Jobe's the youngest."
"Wow."
Jax just nodded in response while Cori's mind was ticking over ideas of how to help the little boy out without it looking like charity and embarrassing him.
"You're going to help him aren't you?" Jax asked with a grin as he turned the car into the yard of the garage.
"If I can" she said while taking off her seatbelt.
Jax reached out and ran a finger down the side of her face.
"You're a good woman Cori. Your heart is good."
She blushed and looked down at her hands while Jax felt himself swept away with her beauty.
"Hey... let's go see our man."
He got out and met her as she was closing her door and wrapped an arm around her waist and led her towards the office.

Russell was sitting at the office desk with its thousands of papers trying to find the account for the old lady coming to pick up her car in an hour. Feeling frustrated he was almost tempted to shove the whole lot onto the floor and jump all over them to teach them a lesson before shredding them.
The door opened and all thoughts of violent paper shredding and jumping were forgotten as the two people who mattered most to him walked through the door.
"Hey sweetheart. Come here." He pushed his chair back and slapped a hand on his lap.
Cori smiled a nervous smile before moving forward with a jolt as Jax pushed her forward.
"Hey! Don't push like that."
"Oh babe... I sorry... Will you forgive me? Huh? Pretty please?"
Jax's pout was cute... but did nothing to prevent Cori from standing with her hands on her hips glaring at him.
"What if I did that to you? What if.."
"I'm sorry babe."
Russell chuckled to himself as his arm reached out and he took Cori's balled up fist in his own hand. She jumped and looked at him.
"Eh sorry. Just wanted to get your attention."
He didn't let go of her hand but traced circles around her knuckles instead. He could feel the tension relax and with the gentlest of persuasions he pulled her towards him until she stood between his legs.
She looked down at Russell and gasped with surprise when he raised her hands to face and started to kiss each finger individually. Slowly, each with the exact amount of attention, none would miss out on the slightest of touches. He turned them to place teasing kisses across each palm.
He looked up at her with stars in his eyes as he tugged on one hand and she fell into his lap and squealed and wrapped an arm around his neck to support herself.
"Hello sweetheart" he murmured before his mouth crashed down on hers.
His arms went around her with one lifting her legs until she was completely across him. He held her closely as his pushed through her lips and he devoured the soft warmth within.
Her hand found its way into his lush thick hair as she held his mouth to hers. She couldn't get enough and when her hand grabbed a fistful of hair he groaned and kissed her more urgently.
It was Jax who broke them up with a warning.
"As hot as it is watching you two, old Mrs Myer is coming this way."
Russell groaned and reluctantly pulled away and dropped his head to her shoulder. Both were left gasping for breath.
"Cori, come and see your car... now" the warning was swift.
Mrs Myers was getting close.
Jax moved to the desk and pulled Cori away from Russell and into his arms just seconds before Mrs Myer walked through the door.
"Oh" the old woman stopped and her eyes bulged at Jax and Cori.
"Hey Mrs Myers. This is my girlfriend Cori Hill. She's a new teacher in town."
Mrs Myers just nodded with narrowed eyes as she took in Coris dishevelled appearance before she turned to Russell and he took over the conversation and got up to lead the older woman out of the office.
Cori dropped her head back against Jax in embarrassment. Both of them chuckled softly not wanting to attract Mrs Myers attention.
"She's one of the nicest gossips, the one Russell's waiting on is worse" Jax whispered in her ear making her cringe when she remembered what he said.
"Girlfriend huh?"
"Yep... well if you want... um... yeh?" Jax spoke shyly.
Cori laughed and moved away from him.
"Come and show me my car... boyfriend" she walked to the door and left a shocked Jax standing behind ber before he started to grin.
"Yes ma'am!"

Asturian Warbringer - A LitRPG on Earth
Currently releasing 5 chapters a week Luke Kells liked only one thing about himself: his green eyes. He hated getting bullied, hated being poor, hated being an orphan, hated his weakness, hated the government, hated his life. If someone had given him a button to push and kill everyone but him and his granddad, he would've done it without a second thought. Then, one day, after fainting during a beating, he woke up with memories that would change his life. Magic, martial arts, how to craft special artifacts; he knew it all. Anyone would’ve taken that path to glory at once. However, he had to deal with a lot on his plate first. To even begin walking that path, Luke first had to deal with his own psychological issues. Almost two years of brutal bullying that was akin to torture and no support from the school staff of the police had left him with a broken soul. Before even realizing he could be rich or powerful, he had to bring himself out of the mental hellhole he found himself in. Oh, and his memories also told him the Sentinel Tower would change reality in six months to protect the planet from the Demonic Horde. But that wasn’t as important as not making the local bully angry, right? A story about personal growth, overcoming obstacles, and reaching absolute glory at the end of the path. This is a slow-paced, character-centered story. If you want something faster paced, filled with almost immediate and nonstopping action, check out my other novel: Modern Awakening - A cultivation, LitRPG, apocalyptic novel. The Normal Dungeon Core: Lethe
Just a normal, standard, no extra frills or gills, dungeon core LitRPG novel in a fantastical world. And as usual, a system exists! Prologue: You know all those stories about reincarnation? Where our beloved (or hated) protagonists are transferred to a new world to conquer, defeat the demon lord, rescue the princess. or are made into mythical gems of power with control over Monsters and Men (psst..a dungeon core)? Where they get a cheat-like ability, are special, granted privileges, or have knowledge from another world? Well, I read about them too in my spare time before I came here. At least, I think I did. Now, you might be asking, where is 'here' ? To answer your somewhat specific, yet vague, question my dear audience...I don't know! But what I do know is that...well nothing other than I had a past life...I think... Anyway...You are correct in assuming that I was indeed reincarnated into a dungeon core! But... ..I have no idea who I was. ...I don't seem to have any special powers or skills or cheats. ....And I was specifically told by Mr. S that I am not, and never will be, "special." Now, if you are confused, then I'm doing a great job, because you probably have no idea what I'm talking about, I haven't given you a background story, or taken you through the last few hours of my new existence. We will get to that! I promise! The main reason I am telling you this absurd and completely delusional preface, is to introduce to you the idea that I, as in me, the new dungeon core, am not "special".............. With that out of the way, how about we rewind time a bit to when I...developed my consciousness? Yes? Great! Lets goooooo! ---------
