《From the Bottom of My Heart, I Love You (gxg) (AU)》Chapter 30: "I'm Here"

"Let's take a five minutes break, then we will do more shots before we call it a day!" the photographer yelled. Everyone in the room immediately went back to doing what they do best, making things work and making progress for the announcement.
"Ms. Beatrice, please come sit. We need to remove those makeup, and change the band-aids." Janna spoke. It was the newly hired maid, she was the one who was assigned to look after Beatrice.
Following the incident that night, her parents were summoned to the university to pick her up and discuss the situation. When she was interviewed, she stated that she picked up Ava from the library outside the university and when they returned, JC, who was drunk, was standing in the middle of the road, blocking their way to the parking lot.
JC was throwing tantrums at Ava because of their personal issues, telling them she was only interfering until JC hurt Ava. She explained that she was just trying to do her job as President, and she reminded JC that he was assaulting a woman on the school grounds. JC was out of control, and when she tried to stop him, he hit her, and she only defended herself from the drunk guy. Her parents were devastated by the Lawrence family because they had been assisting them and this was their way of repaying them.
Beatrice simply didn't want these older people to mingle with their personal business; she didn't want to make things worse, so she just stuck to the story she told them and moved on; her parents didn't want her to stay at the university any longer, and she was told to rest more before the annual event. Beatrice sat comfortably and let Janna do her work while she stared at herself in the mirror with a cold stare; she was already a mess, and putting on too much makeup won't help either.
"Your phone keeps ringing for five minutes. I think it's best to answer it." Janna spoke.
Beatrice took her phone from the top of the table and saw so many text messages from Luna and the other students at the Uni that she sighed aloud because there was only one person she wanted to see texting her. Ava. The only woman who drives her insane every second of every day, with a smile that could melt her insides. It was a text from Luna, and she had no idea what it was about. Beatrice read the text message that she had opened.
Luna: Ava is craving today again, she was asking me about any stores nearby. I lied about the stores and told her that the stores are a few feet away from the school and instead asked her if she wanted it to be delivered.
Beatrice recalls that Ava is on her monthly waste, that she has a few stores downtown, that she texted the managers about her orders, and that she will pay double if the order is delivered to the dorm at the exact time she requested. After five minutes, the managers contacted her and informed her that the delivery had arrived at the university and was in the room. After hearing such good news, Beatrice couldn't help but smile at the thought of Ava doing a little happy dance and smiling while looking at her favorites.
Beatrice: Make sure the delivery made it to the room perfectly and no sabotages.
Beatrice texted Luna and then placed her phone back on the table, Janna adjusted her makeup on her face, and after Janna finished her makeup, she stood up and made her way to the center of the photoshoot, the makeup making her skin itchy because Janna applied way too much makeup on her.

Her parents just took her to Amsterdam because it was only a 2-hour flight and didn't take long, and her parents went back to London to discuss the event that would take place at their palace. She insisted to her parents that she preferred staying at the hotel to staying at the palace because she didn't want to be alone or be reminded of the palace as the source of her loneliness.
Beatrice then began to follow the photographer's command, striking a pose while hearing the cameras click. They were photographing her, which made her uncomfortable; she didn't like it. If Ava were here, she would ask the others to leave and let the younger girl do what she does best: take pictures. She couldn't stop thinking about Ava, wondering how she was, and if she had eaten her meal. Is she massaging her stomach with a hot compress?
She was lost in her own thoughts, worried about the one she loves, and did not hear the photographer say anything; the photographer was asking her to sit down again on the chair. Beatrice simply raised her brow and did exactly what the photographer desired. When she heard voices in the background, she posed a little more. Beatrice then looked over in the direction where the noise was coming from. She noticed Janna on the phone, but it was her phone. Beatrice approached Janna and immediately demanded her attention.
"Who is that? And why are you touching my phone?!" I confronted.
"Miss, someone named Ava is calling. I-I... She's hysterical..." Janna spoke, as I approached as fast as I could and grab the phone in her hand.
"Ava? I'm here. What's wrong?!" Beatrice spoke without hesitation. Her worries became bigger upon hearing Ava crying hysterically. It broke her heart over and over again.
"Why did you leave me m-me?" Ava tried forming her words but ended up just crying.
"I thought you needed some space, Ava. I was planning to say my goodbyes but I figured you wouldn't talk to me." Beatrice replied. It was true, she wasn't lying, that was the first thought that came to her mind.
"Shut up! You left me... Come back... Please." Ava pleaded through the phone, Beatrice could feel her heartbreak into thousand pieces even more.
"Stay with me on the phone, I'm coming home," Beatrice replied. Beatrice immediately ran out of the building and headed straight to the hotel. She was lucky to pull over a cab and told the driver to drive quickly to the hotel, it was only a 3 minutes drive since there was no traffic and Beatrice felt like she needed to thank the gods for no inconvenience.
"Get on the bed, Ava. You can lay down on my bed, wait for me. Okay?" Beatrice spoke again. The driver looked at her with a big, shocked look through the mirror and Beatrice just raised an eyebrow at him and he focused on the road.
"Hold on for me, Ava. I'll be home before you know it." Beatrice assured the younger girl.
Beatrice couldn't breathe, she was so worried as to what happened to Ava who suddenly just cried, was it still because of JC? Her patience towards the Lawrence brothers was undeniable, Lea couldn't handle her brothers anymore and so Beatrice will take the matters into her hands if those two ever mess with Ava, especially JC.
Beatrice reached the hotel and took the things that matters to her, she booked her own ticket and perfectly got a business class seat as a promotion and now she's heading back to the love of her life, she headed straight to the airport and got in the plane with no problem, she knew her parents would find out sooner or later but it won't matter right now,

"I'm coming, Ava hang on," Beatrice spoke to herself.
//
Ava woke up and hold her head, she got a headache and feels a little sicker than she was yesterday, the younger girl was confused and yawned. She look around the room and it was quiet, she is alone at the moment. Ava tried to check her phone but it was off, she guessed that her phone ran out of battery. She looked for her charger and plug it in, she waited for a few seconds until she turn on her phone, and she decided to go back to bed. She heard the door being unlocked and the first thing Ava thought of was to get the nearest object she saw near her.
As soon as the door swung open, she threw the object hitting the person who just entered the room.
"Owww! What the fuck?" Beatrice questioned. Ava was stunned to speak when she heard the older girl's voice.
"Bea..." Ava tried to speak but calling her best friend's name came out of her mouth as a whisper.
"I want to question you for throwing my stuffed toy but okay. " Beatrice spoke, closing the door behind her and approaching Ava slowly.
Ava began crying again, then ran to Beatrice's arms and sobbed even harder. Beatrice couldn't stop herself from hugging the younger girl tightly and letting her cry on her chest; the two young women cuddled as Beatrice comforted the younger girl.
She felt bad leaving Ava just like that without any messages to say that she will be leaving and going ahead to Amsterdam, although overthinking that Ava must have hated her for the way she acted because Beatrice knew how much Ava doesn't like violence.
But hearing over the phone how screwed up Ava is when she left because of her incorrect assumptions broke her heart. It broke her heart into a million pieces, she couldn't sleep the entire flight, she couldn't even eat properly, she loses her appetite just hearing the love of her life cry hurt her.
After a few minutes, Ava finally stopped crying, they were laying down on the bed. Cuddling was one of the things Beatrice really loved when she was with Ava and she cannot deny that, she doesn't like anyone touching her just like that, not even with Lea or anyone else.
But it's her touch, her touch that burns through her skin, her heartbeat finally at peace when she's holding Ava in her arms, Beatrice felt light-headed and so she finds herself closing her eyes and taking a deep sigh. She must have been exhausted from the rushing all the way here and she hadn't eaten anything else.
"What's wrong, Bea?" Ava asked.
"I'm hungry I guess? I haven't eaten anything properly when I got here because... I got worried about you." Beatrice replied.
"Do you want to go to the cafeteria and eat?" Ava asked.
"I would very much like to order and eat here with you." Beatrice replied. Ava nodded her head while resting her head on the older girl's chest. Ava, on the other hand, felt a little better now in the arms of her best friend. She couldn't understand what happened to her but all she knew was that she needed Beatrice the most.
"Where were you?" Ava asked softly, almost in a whisper when she asked the older girl about her whereabouts.
"I thought you wouldn't like to talk to me after what happened," Beatrice replied.
"What do you mean?" Ava asked.
"I told you before, Ava. You wouldn't like to find out about my past, about how I am in the past. What happened between me and JC and what I did to JC. That was just part of the past. Of who I used to be." Beatrice replied.
"You saved me from JC and he wasn't himself." Ava said. Beatrice kept quiet after hearing what Ava had just told her.
"I don't care who you were in your past, all I care about is you." Ava spoke. Beatrice felt her heart beating so fast just because Ava told her how much she cares about her.
"Ava..." Beatrice called her name. Ava adjusted herself and now the two were now facing each other while laying down on Beatrice's bed, the bed was a little small for the two of them and so their nose are touching, while they stare into each other's eyes.
"Hmm?" Ava hummed.
"I'm sorry I left..." Beatrice replied.
"Shh... We made assumptions sometimes..." Ava said. Ava smiled softly to Beatrice who was staring at her.
"D-do you want to fly to Amsterdam? Camila and the rest could follow up. I can arrange an online class for you. I'll take care of the arrangements. If you only want to." Beatrice suggested.
"Is that your way of saying I'm sorry for leaving you without any message or note?" Ava jokingly asked. The two immediately giggled
"Maybe, maybe not. I'm really sorry," Beatrice replied. She brushed over a few strands of Ava's hair over her ear and they were staring deep into each other's eyes.
"You're forgiven," Ava said with a smile. They lay there for a few minutes before Beatrice decided to order something for them; Beatrice knew this wasn't a normal headache, so she needed to drink her medication after eating; she was so dead to her parents for drinking the medicine at such a late hour.
The food came and the two just started eating like there's no tomorrow, two different big burritos and chicken shots with fries are what they ordered, the drinks came along and they just enjoyed every second of it.
Ava wanted to confront the older girl about what JC said that night, and whether or not her best friend was truly in love with her. Or was that just something JC did to get into your head and mess everything up? Ava wanted to ask Beatrice, but all she cared about was Beatrice staying with her and being with her right now, because she couldn't function after everything that had happened.
JC, the way she looked at him changed ever since that night, she couldn't believe she loved a man like him who could have done something worse if she stayed. Ava suddenly remembered again the moment JC left her at the hotel, the night he had his grip on her and scared her.
"Ava?" Beatrice called her name, pulling her away from her own thoughts.
"Hmm?" Ava hummed as her response.
"You suddenly stopped eating, you didn't like the food?" Beatrice asked.
"N-no. I'm just lost in my own thoughts again." Ava replied with a shy smile. Ava starts eating as soon as she stops thinking about the thoughts that disturbs her and proceeds to eat.
"You still haven't told me your answer." Beatrice spoke.
"About what again?" Ava asked, taking a bite from her burrito.
"If I can take you to Amsterdam first and enjoy the place while the rest would follow." Beatrice replied.
"I would very much like that." Ava said with a shy smile.
"Just pack your things up and we'll leave tonight. I'll take care of the rest of the online classes you could take so you won't miss a thing before the semester break." Beatrice replied. She smiled at the younger girl and hesitated to hold Ava's hand.
"Okay, I'll tell Camila about it." Ava said. There was a sudden knock on the door, Beatrice and Ava looked at each other and it took a few seconds before Beatrice decided to answer the door.
"I'll answer the door, you continue eating." Beatrice commanded and Ava agreed. Beatrice stood up and approached the door, she look through the peephole and saw JC standing in front of the door.
Beatrice's patience has been tested yet again, and she is wondering what the hell is going on and why he is here. Beatrice inhaled deeply, took her phone from her pocket, and dialed Luna's number. She double-checked the door and returned to Ava, who was staring at her in confusion.
The loud knock started to be a banging on the door, Ava tensed up and Beatrice gestured to her to stay calm.
"Luna. Can you tell the guards to get Mr. Lawrence to the office? He is standing right in front of our dorm room." Beatrice calmly spoke on the phone, holding Ava's hand.
"Ava?! I know you're in there! Please, I just want to talk!" JC shouted from outside.
"Tell them to hurry up, I don't think JC is not in his right mind." Beatrice said. She was looking at Ava who started to feel uneasy and scared at the same time. Beatrice hung up and sat beside Ava, Beatrice comforted the younger girl. She knew Ava was starting to lose her calmness again.
"I'm here, Ava. I'm here..." Beatrice whispered in Ava's ear while hugging her.
A few moments later, Beatrice started to hear voices from outside, Beatrice looked at Ava who was also confused.
"Stay here, I'll go check it." Beatrice said to Ava who immediately pulled her hand.
"No, don't leave me!" Ava exclaimed.
"I'm not going to, Ava. I'll be just by the door and give them an order on what to do with JC. I'll tell Luna to stay here with you while I talk to them outside." Beatrice explained, her thumb gently brushing it on her cheek.
"I'll be here, we have a flight to catch tonight." Beatrice added and left a kiss on Ava's forehead.
Ava watched Beatrice open the door and a few seconds later, Luna came in and hugged Ava right away. She could see Beatrice, JC and the other people talking. JC was resisting but the three guards were bigger than him so he stopped resisting. JC was eyeing Ava inside and Ava felt uncomfortable by the way JC looked at her.
It's the first time she felt scared for her life after seeing his eyes changed into something she had never seen before, Ava thought of being careful now when she comes back from Amsterdam. She wishes to leave as soon as possible and try to forget things behind for a moment.

The Forgotten Hero
Long ago, in the world of Thyne, the Alliance of the Free Races, a name they had given themselves, summoned a hundred humans from another dimension. Praised as heroes by the people, they rejoiced that they had been able to acquire pure, mana deficient humans that wanted to aid them in their time of need, ignoring the black, archaic slave collars around their necks or the depressed, almost hate-filled expressions that they received when interacting with them. After Ten years of bloody war, the dark races were pushed back deep into their territories. Both sides were near breaking point and desperate to end the war once and for all. In a bargain, the twelve surviving heroes launched a high-risk mission, utilising advanced tactics from their home world to kill the Demon Lord. In exchange, they would be sent home, along with the magically preserved corpses of their comrades, though in truth, they knew that even if they returned, they would never be the same. Legends say that, upon ambushing the Demon Lord in his castle, they finally understood the plight of the world, and in the last act of heroism, sacrificed their lives, sealing him in an eternal prison so his essence would not be able to create another. With the loss of the Demon Lord, and no chance for another to be born, the dark races quickly surrendered and the free races celebrated, honouring the noble sacrifice of the heroes before quickly forgetting about them as they returned to their everyday lives. However, legends are rarely truthful, embellished by the victors in order to earn praise as well as hide the less desirable aspects of their deeds. Trapped in the Demon Lord's throne room inside the Demonic Palace, which even taking a single step on its desecrated grounds is punished by death, two figures remain motionless. They had long run out of insults and threats to trade and now they waited. For what, not even the Gods knew.
