《Snape X reader -a fine line-》Chapter 8 (dress shopping)

3rd person pov:
It was saturday so (Y/N) didn't have any classes to attend. Which came out handy considering the fact she was staying at Professors Snape personal chamber and not her standard dormitory. She hoped that Hermione wasn't going to search for her or wonder where she was. (Y/N) embellished that Hermione would go to the library to study like she always did.
She was laying in the soft, big bed from Professor Snape thinking about the other night. How could she be so reckless. Of course he didn't like her, what did she expect? Him to kiss her back? (Y/N) let out a breath she didn't know she even had before the Professor came in.
'Good Morning miss (L/N),' he said while slowly putting down a cup of hot tea and some toast with jam.' (Y/N) yawned as she pulled herself up with her arms, sitting down on the bed with her back against the wall from the bed.
'What time is it?' she asked curiously.
'10 o'clock.'
We gaped at one another for a few seconds before he broke the eye contact and walked out of the room.
While he walked out the room he quickly said: 'Get dressed Miss (L/N). We are going to see Dumbledore in some minutes.'
Now the memories all flowed back in her mind. How she awoke in the middle of the night, wandered down the corridors and Lockhart who held her against the wall almost doing the things she did not want.
(Y/N) got dressed and then she walked out the room where she had slept. Snape was waiting for her, she could tell by the looks of him that he was ready to go. He had his cloak neatly around him, staring at her with his icy eyes.
When arriving at the office from Dumbledore. (Y/N) sat down on the chair while Dumbledore and Professor Snape were having a conversation. She could not hear what they were saying so she waited patiently until they were done. Snape walked out which led to Dumbledore and (Y/N) to be alone. She tried to hide her disappointment, expecting Snape to be with her.
'How are you miss (L/N),' he began.
'Could be better.'
Dumbledore was struggling to find the right words to say to this young, innocent girl.
'Could you tell me what happened last night?' (Y/N) fumbled with the side of her skirt. She was nervous and Dumbledore noticed:' Take your time my dear.'
(Y/N) built up the courage to tell the story as she began. When she was done with her tale, Dumbledore looked concerned.
'We will undeniably do something about that as fast as we can. Was there anything else you would like to tell me?'
'No sir, this was about it.'
'Alright, you may now go Miss (L/N). Be careful out there,' he said as I nodded to his response.
(Y/N)s pov:
I stumbled across the classrooms to go to the Great Hall. It was lunchtime already and I haven't seen my friends since yesterday evening before it all happened.
'(Y/N)! there you are. We were worried sick about you. Couldn't you leave a note that you went off?!' Said Harry as I was sitting down at the Gryffindor table.

'I'm sorry guys. I had a rough night and needed to get out,' I said casually.
Ron and Harry gave a quick glance at each other before focusing back on me. Hermione was too occupied to even notice I was sitting next to her. She had her face buried in her book again, studying Defence against the dark arts.
'Where were you anyways?' Ron asked with a suspicious look on his face. Oh how bad I wanted to come clean and tell them about my meeting with Professor Snape and our almost kiss.
'I-I was going for a walk,' I said hesitantly. Harry and Ron kept an eye on me but didn't ask further questions about my disappearance. Time flew by and I was chatting and laughing before Ron said something that caught my attention.
'Why are Lockhart and Dumbledore leaving?' (Y/N), Harry and even Hermione looked up at the Professors table. Lockhart and Dumbledore stood up and I saw their mouths moving quickly. Dumbledore looked angry and Lockhart looked scared.
'Dumbledore looked pissed,' Said Ron with a mouthful with food like always.
'Guys! quit staring. It's none of our business,' said Hermione while giving Ron a little punch. My face turned red and (Y/N) hoped they didn't notice. Dumbledore and Lockhart left the Great Hall and at that very moment, I glimpsed up at Snape who sat at the table. I tried to read the emotion of his face but it looked empty.
'Not to mention (Y/N), but the Yule Ball is almost coming. Have you picked out a dress already? And what about a date? You have to find a date,' Hermione chatted.
I completely forgot! The Yule Ball was a day or two away. I needed to go to Hogsmeade for a dress and of course...a date.
I smiled at Hermione: 'How could i forget! Should we go to Hogsmeade together?'
She nodded her head and I assumed that was a yes.
I could ask Draco to the Yule Ball. I needed to speak to him anyways because of the thing he said a few days back. Asking if we could start over and try to have a relationship.
'I'll be right back,' I said and stood up, walking towards the Slytherin table.
'Draco, can I speak to you in the library after lunch?' He got a little smirk on his face, happy that he would surely get his answer today.
'Of course my dear.'
3rd person pov:
(Y/N) was tensely waiting for Draco to come in as she was sitting in a booth reading a book.
'Draco! you're here!' Draco walked in the library and sat down next to (Y/N) in the booth with a smile on his face.
'I wanted to ask you something, before you ask me your question,' he said. (Y/N) was confused, what was he going to say? Maybe he was going to ask her for the Yule Ball before I did.
'Go on.'
'(Y/N) (L/N), would you like to join me at the feastly Yule Ball?' She couldn't believe her eyes. She was lucky she didn't have to ask him because (Y/N) was afraid of the rejection she may get.

'That's exactly what i was about to ask you! Yes Malfoy, I would,' I said with an enthusiastic voice.
'It's settled then,' (Y/N) said with a big smile,' we are going together.'
(Y/N) was back in the common room from Gryffindor. There she met Ron and Hermione sitting in front of the fireplace. She heard the two giggle from all across the room.
'Ron, don't do that here,' Hermione laughed quietly. 'We have to study.'
(Y/N) decided to give the two lovebirds some privacy and walked to her dormitory. She was just about to pick up a book, as Hermione swung open the door.
'How did it go with Draco?' (Y/N) knew Hermione didn't really like Malfoy after all the things he had done but i knew she just wanted her to be happy so she didn't say much about it.
'He asked me to the Ball!' (Y/N) said.
'That's amazing, we could go together. On double dates.'
(Y/N)s pov:
I walked down the corriods, looking for Snape. I wouldn't normally do this but I really needed help. I was going to Hogsmeade tomorrow but of course I still had my cuts. Professor Snape offered me earlier to heal them but I declined his offer. That was also the night we almost kissed.
(Y/N) faced the door at the classroom from the Professor, hoping he was there. I knocked...no answer, I knocked again and I heard a voice say: 'Come in.' Shyly (Y/N) came in and Snape was sitting behind his desk, probably grading some tests or something. He didn't look up once and I was getting closer to his desk to the point I was standing in front of it. 'What do you want Miss (L/N)?' he sneered. I was surprised that he knew who I was without looking up but I ignored it.
'Professor, do you remember that one night when I...,' I hesitated rather I should say, the night we almost kissed.
'Spit it out. I don't have time for this foolish behaviour.'
'Do you remember that one night when I, how do I say this, when I slept at your chamber? That night with Lockhart.' He frowned.
'What about it?'
'Well, since the Yule Ball is coming up and I have to wear a dress...could you maybe heal the cuts?'
Snape didn't see this question coming and wasn't prepared to give a quick response back.
I waited for Snape to answer but he didn't. Instead, he stood up and got his wand out.
'Give me your arm Miss (L/N).' I gave him my arm and looked away. Not wanting to see his reaction to it, knowing it was bad.
'This may hurt a little bit.' He mumbled words but not hard enough for me to understand what he was saying. Before I knew it my arm started to sting. I tried to not make any noise while the cuts slowly healed. Snape was still holding my arm after he was done, looking into my eyes. I wanted to kiss him so bad but I can't make the same mistake I made that night. He will reject me again and my heart can't take that.
'Miss (L/N), can you please promise me that next time you get these...urges, you will come to me?' His voice sounded genuinely as if he actually cared. My mouth was zipped close and I couldn't bring myself to say anything so I just nodded.
'Have fun at the Ball,' he said without showing any emotion.
'Thank you Sir. Have a good evening.'
--------------------------------Time skip Hogsmeade-------------------------------
(Y/N)s pov:
We went to Hogsmeade with some other students and a few Professors to keep an eye on us. We had to find a dress for me because Hermione already had one. It was a beautiful red one that hugged her body tight. She showed me today in the dormitory.
We found a shop and went in.
'Hello, how can i help you?' Someone asked me as I stood in the shop.
'Oh i'm fine, I'm just looking,' I said politely.
We looked at a few dresses before Hermione said: 'What about this one (Y/N)?' She had her hand on a black dress that, I guessed, would come just below my knees. The top was tight and the bottom was flowing and loose. I smiled, knowing this is the one.
We walked out the shop. I had a bag in my hands and we decided to go get some coffee at a cafe.
'So, are you excited for the dance?' she said while we sat down.
'Yeah, a little bit. But I don't know...if I really want to go with Draco.' She stared at me and blinked a few times.
'With who else did you want to go?' Of course (Y/N) couldn't say it because the person i would love to go with...was my Professor plus, he didn't like me the way i liked him.
Hermione waited for a response to her question but she figured I wouldn't give her one so she changed the subject.
'I heard a few people are going to sneak alcohol into the party. But i try not to get involved with it, they can do whatever they want,' said Hermione. Honestly I was pretty happy about that. It would make it a bit more fun.
I sipped a bit of my coffee which was still hot and I burned my tongue. Someone came into the coffee shop and I saw Professor Snape and Dumbledore. I couldn't keep my eyes off him as he walked at a table with Dumbledore. Why was he so...attractive. Professor Snape felt someone was staring at him as he turned his head to me. My cheeks instantly became red as I quickly looked away, taking another sip from my coffee. The Yule Ball was tonight and (Y/N) couldn't be more nervous.
