"So let me get this straight? You're gonna grant me superpowers to save all of Paris? That's amazing!" Adrien exclaimed.

Plagg yawned, "Yep, and pretty soon you'll meet your partner, Ladybug!"

Adrien smiled, "I can tell already we're gonna be the perfect team."

Plagg gave a knowing smile that Adrien didn't fully comprehend, "Yes, you'll be the perfect team," Then the kwami whispered quietly, "And pretty soon, you'll be more. So, so, so much more."

(Plagg knows. Plagg ships.)

...

"I hate her! I hate her so so so so so much!" Chloe screamed at the butler, shoving another chocolate in her mouth.

"GET ME MORE SUGAR, BUTLER!" She yelled at the butler.

The man hurriedly ran from the room as Chloe lashed out on a porcelain lamp.

Then, Chloe got an idea.

She grabbed the box from her desk...the box that the old goon had wanted to give to Marinette.

Wouldn't Marinette be so surprised when Chloe showed up using her...well, whatever was in the box. That'd make her mad!

Chloe smiled and sat on her bed with the box.

Then, she opened it. There was a flash of light, and suddenly a small creature was floating in front of her.

"Hello, Marinet-Who are you?" The creature asked, looking confused.

Chloe watched the creature for a second, then screamed.

"Oh! Oh no! Oh no! Oh no! Oh, please quiet down...oh...why aren't you Marinette? She's the one meant for this job..."

Chloe suddenly stopped screaming and turned bright red with anger, "Excuse you! Anything Marinette can do, I can do a hundred times better!"

The creature looked down, clearly upset, "I need you to do something. You seem like a very nice person..." The creature waited for Chloe's name.

Chloe rolled her eyes, "Chloe Bourgeois."

"Chloe, but you can't do the job...it's a dangerous job. You might die. Marinette's the only one who can do it."

"Because no one will care if she dies?" Chloe snickered.

Tikki turned pale, "No! She's the only one who can balance the black cat holder-"

"Wait, black cat holder? Who, and what is that?" Chloe asked.

"He'll be Marinette's partner-"

"I don't care. So...what exactly is Marinette doing? Cleaning the sewers?" Chloe laughed at her own joke.

But the creature shook her head, "No. Marinette is destined for greatness above all understanding and imagination. She will be the righter of wrongs, the princess of Justice, the guardian of Paris, and the heroine of the miraculouses. The leader of the team she assembles. She will become Ladybug, the greatest superheroine in the world, matched only by her partner, Chat Noir."

Chloe was silent and stared at the creature with her mouth ajar. Then, "ARE YOU JOKING ME? That evil little brat is gonna be a superhero? The heroine of Paris?"

The creature nodded, "Yes. The world will adore her."

"Adore...world...WHAT!" Chloe screamed.

The creature nodded.

Then, Chloe shook her head violently, "No...no, no, no, no, no! That twerp doesn't deserve it. No, I will be the new superhero of Paris!"

The creature's jaw dropped. Then, "No! You can't! You weren't chosen-"

"No, I chose myself! What do I do?"

"I-"

"Oh, and if you don't tell me, I'm gonna flush your pretty little box down the drain."

The creature seemed to go pale, "No! No, don't...fine. You need to wait till there's an Akuma attack and then..."

So my sweet little kwami, Tikki was her name, was forced to explain to Chloe all about being a superheroine in order to protect her miraculous. The speech that was meant for me. When she finished, Chloe found the earrings and put them on, smiling to herself. Tikki could only hang her head in defeat...what had gone so wrong?

...

I walked into my new classroom, still amazed Natalie hadn't made me go home with her. I tried to ignore the fact that my father was not going to be happy when I got home...

But then I saw Chloe sticking a wad of gum on a seat.

"Chloe...what are you doing?" I asked.

Chloe zipped around, and smiled broadly, "Adrikins! You made it. And don't worry about the gum...the brats who sat here yesterday just need to be taught a lesson..."

I frowned, then saw something reflect the light on Chloe's face. She wore a pair of simple black earrings...weird. That was a very un-Chloe like thing to do...I'd expected something more...sparkly.

"Chloe...this doesn't feel-"

"Adrinkins! Hush! They're coming-" Chloe suddenly called, pulling me out of the way.

Suddenly, two girls walked into the room. One had long brown hair, a light brown complexion, and a bright smile.

But the other girl...she was totally different. She was probably the other girl's total opposite. Her hair was so black it almost looked blue and was held back in two pigtails. Her bright blue eyes shone with unhappiness, and her head was hung. Although her pale complexion should make it easy to see, freckles were lightly sprinkled on her face, barely noticeable.

While the other girl smiled and had a bounce in her step, this girl looked sad and guilty.

I saw the smiling girl give the other a reassuring squeeze, then the sad girl walked forward. Straight to Chloe.

It seemed to take her a moment to find her voice, but then she did, "Hey Chloe...umm, I wanted to say I'm sorry. I thought about it a lot, and what I said yesterday... it was rude, heartless, and totally uncalled for...I'm really, really, really sorry. Can you forgive me?"

I say something flash on Chloe's face, then, she gently smiled, "Of course Marinette! Don't worry!" She said in a sickly sweet voice and hugged her.

But what the girl, Marinette, did not see was Chloe gave me a huge wink.

Then, she pulled away.

Marinette smiled...it was sweet, and genuine, not like Chloe's. Then, she turned to go sit down.

I watched as Chloe giggled. But before Marinette sat down, she slipped and came down. But what surprised everyone was that she didn't hit the ground.

I held her, "Are you okay?" I asked.

She looked up at me, her big blue eyes sparkling with surprise, "Yes...thank you. You saved me," She righted herself, and stood on her own.

I put a hand behind my neck, "Oh, it was nothing. Don't worry about it."

"What's your name?" She asked me.

I smiled, "My name's Adrien. It's nice to meet you..." I trailed off when I realized I didn't know her name.

"Marinette. Are you new here?" She asked me.

I nodded, "This is my first year at school, ever. I've been homeschooled my whole life."

She gave me another smile, "That sounds wonderful! No homework, no last-minute assignments-"

"No friends," I said, somberly.

She paused, then spoke, "I'd never thought of that...well, now you've-"

"GET AWAY FROM HIM, MARITRASH!" Chloe declared, breaking through the two of us. She glowered at Marinette, "Adrinkins is my friend! Got it? MINE! So back off! Adrikins is too rich for the likes of you! Don't you know who his daddy is? You've probably never even heard of him from the hole you've been living in. Well, his daddy is Gabriel Agreste! Now shoo bug!"

Marinette looked up with me in shock, recognition dawning on her face. Her cheeks immediately turned bright red, and she backed away, her head somewhat down, "Sorry. I didn't know..."

Chloe rolled her eyes, "Well that's obvious!" Why was Chloe being so mean? And why was Marinette letting her treat her like that?

"I...I had better go. I'm sorry Adrien...I mean...umm..." Then Marinette hurried to her seat.

"Wait! Marinette! Don't sit-" She sat down. Chloe gave a satisfied smile as the teacher walked in. She then blew me a kiss and went to her seat.

I looked around, not knowing what to do. How could things have gone so wrong so fast?

Finally, I sat in the front row, next to a boy wearing a baseball cap.

I gave him a wave and a smile, "Hi I'm Adr-"

The boy frowned, "You're friends with Chloe?"

I hesitated, then nodded, "Yes...is that a bad thing?"

The boy shrugged, "You gotta decide that for yourself bro...but anyone who treats Marinette like Chloe does...she's no good in my book."

I frowned, "Why was Chloe being so mean?"

The boy's frown deepened, "Eh, there are a couple of different theories. I think it's because she's jealous..."

I looked at Chloe to Marinette then back at the boy, "I guess I don't really know much about this...sorry. Chloe's been my only friend since...well, since forever. And if being her friend is a bad thing, then I guess you shouldn't-"

"Wait, Chloe's your only friend? Your only friend?" The boy asked, astonished.

I nodded.

The boy clamped a hand on my shoulder, "That is the saddest thing I've ever heard. Well, guess what? You just got yourself a new friend. I'm Nino. It's Adrien, right?"

I nodded and smiled. A friend.

As the teacher started taking attendants, a roar suddenly filled the room.

You all know what happens. Ivan enters the scene. He's yelling at Kim for calling him a wuss, the teacher sends him to the principal's office, he becomes HawkMoth's first victim, yada, yada, yada. Then, Ladybug and Chat Noir fight and defeat StoneHeart. But...that was all supposed to happen yesterday. Apparently, mine and Chloe's fight had stopped that event from happening...But as it turns out, the Universe likes to keep things in order...so, it just happened the next day...you'll see...

"Chloe! Please! Give the earrings to Mari-" Tikki begged.

"No! Now tell me what I say to transform," Chloe demanded, running into the girls' bathroom. Ivan had left the building, leaving chaos in his wake.

Tikki hesitated, then spoke softly, "Spots on."

Chloe gave a victorious smile, "Tikki, spots on!"

Chloe suddenly wore a red and black skin-tight suit. Her hair was up in a high ponytail, the ends dyed red. A red and black mask covered her face.

Chloe smiled at her new self.

"Beautiful, gorgeous, so fashion-forward, it's Ladybug!" She said to herself, posing in front of the mirror, then she grimaced, "Ladybug...ya, that's not gonna work. No way am I calling myself bug. Hmm...aha! I'm gonna be, the one, the only, Scarlet Lady!" Then Chloe realized Tikki wasn't there to applaud her amazing name.

"Tikki?"

Nothing.

"TIKKI!!!!" Chloe screamed. Nothing.

"Ugh, ungrateful little kwami. Must have run off to hide. No matter! I don't need her. I've got this!"

Chloe ran out of the girls' bathroom. Everyone must be hiding, there was no one around the school.

Scarlet Lady pulled out her yoyo and threw it into the air. It landed three feet away.

She groaned and tried again. And again. And again.

"Ugh! This thing is useless!" The, with the intention of throwing it to the ground, she launched it into the air. The yoyo, however, wound out over a hundred feet and tied itself around an unknown object.

"Oh no."

Chloe was thrown through the air like a ragdoll.

She screamed as she fell, and landed on something...and was hanging upside down.

Opening her eyes, she found that she was wrapped up in her yoyo, and a boy in a black skin-tight suit staring back at her. He had cat ears and a tail, plus a mischievous smile, "Hey! Umm...I'm guessing you must be my partner, Ladybug. I'm Chat Noir."

Suddenly, the yoyo dropped them both, and they landed on the ground below.

"HUH! My hair!" Chloe exclaimed, hurrying to a shop window and checking her reflection.

Then she whirled on Chat Noir, "Look what you almost did! Do you know how long it takes me to get ready every morning? And you nearly ruined it!"

Chat Noir hid the face he'd been making, "Oh...umm, sorry Ladybug-"

"And another thing. My name is not Ladybug. It's Scarlet Lady, so get it right! Dumb cat," Scarlet Lady sighed, rolling her eyes.

...

This was my new partner? Just my luck. Maybe she was just edgy because she was nervous? Ya, that was probably it.

My new partner called to me then, and we followed the path of destruction the Akuma had left.

...

While Chat Noir and Scarlet Lady rushed to find the Akuma, I was with Alya in the library, getting gum off my pants.

"Chloe's such a jerk, playing that cruel joke," Alya muttered. Suddenly, Rose rushed into the library.

"Thank goodness you girls are safe!" She cried, hugging us.

I shrugged, "A little gum never hurt anyone."

But Rose shook her head, "You haven't heard? A supervillain is attacking Paris!"

"What!?" Me and Alya cried together.

"Ya! They're gonna put the school on lockdown!" Rose exclaimed.

We nodded, "Thanks for telling us Rose," Alya said.

She nodded, then ran off.

"Come on Marinette. We gotta get out before the school goes on lockdown!" Alya whispered, grabbing my hand, and pulling me in her wake as we raced out of the library.

"Where are we going?" I called.

"Girl isn't obvious! Wherever there's a supervillain, there's always a superhero!" Those were the words that changed around my totally normal world.

Ta-Da!!!!! Hope you guys like what I have so far. Oh, and if you haven't already, I suggest reading some of my other stuff. (You totally don't have to, it just help this book make a little more sense.) Plus I hide Easter Eggs in my books for they all overlap each other.
