"Hey Scar, have you seen Casey?" I shout from the hallway after checking every room for her, but I can't find her anywhere.

I immediately regretted waving her off, but I was in the middle of an important call with my assistant. I need to go back to work soon and I must admit that I'm having difficulties with that. I almost forgot what I actually do for a living since all my attention has been on Casey.

I've been really enjoying this little bubble that we made. I'm not sure how I'm going to combine my work and taking care of Casey, I need to ask Scar for advice about that, but first I have to find my daughter.

"We haven't seen her, maybe she is drawing in a bedroom?" She inquires, looking over the back of the sofa to look at me. I shake my head, biting my lip to keep my composure. Scarlett says something to Rose before standing up and making her way over to me.

"I can't find her anywhere Scar." I sob.

She cups my cheeks and wipes my tears away. "Have you checked every room?" She asks calm but firmly, I nod slowly. She sighs before letting go of me. I reluctantly follow her to the hallway.

Rose runs up to us, a confused look on her face. "Where is Casey? I want to draw with her." She pouts. I keep my mouth shut, not trusting my own voice. Scarlett looks between her daughter and me.

"We're not sure Rose, but her coat is still here so she must be somewhere, maybe she is playing hide and seek?" Scar asks more than she states, a weird feeling forming in my stomach.

Rose thinks for a moment before shaking her head. "Casey doesn't like playing hide and seek and her shoes are gone, she doesn't walk inside the house with shoes on." Rose states the obvious, pointing a the empty spot on the floor where Casey's shoes were earlier this morning.

"It's my fault, I- I shouldn't" I start to sob, but Scarlett wraps her arms around me and holds me tight while caressing my back. "It's not your fault and don't give up just yet, maybe she is playing in the garden."

Rose runs past us, quickly standing in front of us again. "The doors to the garden are locked."

Great so she can't be there either. What have I done?

"Where is everyone, maybe she went with your sisters or your mother?" Scarlett asks carefully, still not letting go of me.

I shake my head slowly, burying myself in her neck. Even Mary-Kate would be responsible enough to tell me if they took Casey with her.

Scarlett pulls away, looking at me intently. "Lizzie look at me." She says as I'm struggling to maintain eye contact through my sobs. When I do, she smiles weakly at me. "We're going to find her, don't worry."

I nod slowly, trusting Scarlett. I don't know what I would have done if she wasn't here. "One of us has to go out and the other has to stay here with Rose in case Casey comes back. Do you want to stay here or go out looking for her?"

I wipe away my tears, taking a few shaky breaths before answering. "I'll stay here with Rose."

As much as I want to find Casey myself, I'm not in the right state of mind to do so. I trust Scarlett with everything I have. With my daughter. And I could use some distraction, it has been a while since I had quality time with Rose.

I've never managed to put on my shoes and coat this fast before rushing out of the house. This is when I meet the first obstacle, do I go left or right? They both lead to two completely different locations.

I decide to call a friend of mine. I thank god when it doesn't take long for them to pick up. "Hey, are you okay?" They ask, voice slightly trembling.

"Yes and no, long story but I'm searching for a kid. Do I go left or right?" I ramble.

They think for a few seconds before speaking. "Are there any cars in front of you, and if so which colour?" They ask intently. I look around, seeing two cars. "A red one on my left and a black one on my right."

"Left. Let me know if I can help you with anything else."

I'm not sure how they know but I've learned to not question them, so I quickly thank them, end the call and make a left turn. It doesn't take long until a paparazzi shows up and takes a few pictures of me. Great.

I forget to take a cap and sunglasses with me since I was in such a rush. I roll my eyes when he starts walking in front of me. "Please move, I'm in a hurry." I scoff. Surprisingly, he does so. I walk past him until he shouts something at me.

"Looking for a young girl perhaps?"

I turn around instantly and make my way towards him. I'm ready to beat this guy up for any information he might have. His grin drops as I approach him. "What do you know?" I inquire, crossing my arms.

"I- she- she walked past me." He mumbles.

"When?" I ask, taking a step closer making him back into a wall. "Around two hours ago, I can show you, I have pictures." He says with a trembling voice.

I take a step back and motion for him to show me the photos while I'm internally scolding myself. She left two hours ago and we just noticed?

He turns the camera to me, a few pictures appear on the display. My heart shatters at the sight, poor kid looks spooked and she seems cold.

"Do you know where she went?" I ask him, he slowly shakes his head. "She walked past me, I don't know where to."

I sigh deeply, running my hand through my hair. "Is that all the information you have?" I inquire. He nods and I turn around immediately, continuing my search. The nearest shop is at least a 20-minute walk with some dangerous crossroads.

As far as Lizzie told me, they haven't explored the neighbourhood since she planned on moving back to her own home soon. It's unlikely that Casey went there, but the rest is just houses. She doesn't know anyone here and nobody would take a random kid in right?

Okay nobody except for Lizzie, but she's too good for this world.

I continue my walk, slightly panicking along the way. That is until I see a bus stop. I stop dead in my tracks. How would she even manage to get on a bus and where would she go?

I search the internet to see where the bus stops, one stop standing out in particular. Casey's hometown.

I run back towards Lizzie and Rose, crossing paths with the paparazzi once again. I approach him, offering to buy the photos of Casey in exchange for his silence. He agreed without hesitation.

When I open the front door with a spare key Ashley gave me, Lizzie and Rose both run towards me. Lizzie looks up at me with hopeful eyes. I let her know what I discovered and before I can even comprehend what is happening, she kisses me on the cheek and walks out the front door.

Rose and I watch Lizzie drive away to Casey's hometown, a gut wrecking feeling suddenly growing in my stomach. Something is wrong.
