Ceto swam through the water, her scales as dark as night.
"Ceto? Are you there?" Midnight called.
Ceto flew over to her sister, "I'm over here."
"What are you doing here Ceto, why did you ask me to come?" Midnight asked.
"I want you to see what I found." Ceto said, pulling out a teal egg from her pouch.
"An egg?!" Midnight exclaimed in disbelief.
"It's not mine." Ceto said quickly.
"Then who's is it?" Midnight asked.
"It's enchanted, this egg is hundreds of years old." Ceto explained, "It was enchanted to never hatch until it found a perfect parent for it-"
"Dragon's aren't always good parents, but hundreds of years?" Midnight interrupted
"Midnight, I am not finished, it was enchanted here, and the dragonet is familiar with it now." Ceto said.
"What does that have to do with anything?" Midnight questioned.
"This dragonet... it was used as a test to find good dragons, the queens animus would enchant an egg in times of danger, and use it as a test to find good dragons." Ceto explained.
"How do you know?"
"It was in a nest with writing that explained all of it, and yes it had a date." Ceto explained.
"What does this have to do with me?" Midnight questioned.
"Midnight... not just SeaWings have tried this... I saw dragons with crowns down there, queens wanted this egg."
Midnight's face fell into horror, "Dragons from other tribes drowned trying to find this egg?"
"I don't want more dragons to drown, I took this egg from the water, we will find good parents for it."
"I wish you luck Ceto." Midnight dipped her head.
"I want you to come with me."
"But Ceto! I have my own family, you can search for parents yourself, you don't need me." Midnight exclaimed.
"We can take Eel!" Ceto insisted.
"Im staying Ceto, but please, return when you find parents for the egg."
"Fine, Goodbye Midnight." Ceto said.
"Goodbye Ceto." Midnight said, before flying off.
Ceto looked at the teal egg and pressed it against her snout, "I swear by my queen, I will find parents for you."
