CHAPTER XV :

Next To You

【 3𝘳𝘥 𝘗𝘖𝘝 】

The skies are dark, and the wind is very cold. The moon had just risen.

It is night time.

At this nightly hour, the driver of the mansion, Ressen, and the right hand man of Y/N, Lucius, were meeting up

at a secluded spot at the back of the mansion.

Lucius :

Ressen : "Hey, watch your tone,

I'm your elderly."

Lucius : "I don't care. What did you do? I'm sure you're behind at happened with Emma."

Ressen : "Yeah?

Lucius slapped his forehead, shaking

his face as he did, clearly annoyed.

Lucius :

Ressen : "Because my plan was foolproof! She just brought a gun out

of nowhere! The contract prohibited her, right? How could I have expected that!?"

Lucius : "Yes it did. This is what happens when you don't tell me your plans, fucking unbelievable."

Ressen : "Hey, it's already done, Emma died so there's no way they'll be able to know we're behind it."

Lucius : Don't involve me with your failure of a plan. "

Ressen : "Hey... I know you're the mind of the operation here but I'm the one putting all of your plans into action.

I was just trying to help as I saw fit."

Lucius : "I understand that, very well, what I can't understand is why didn't you tell me? You fucking old bastard.

Now Y/N will be aware and suspicious of everything! He even allowed a inspection yesterday without even telling me.

Ressen sighed.

Lucius : "Unbelievable."

Inside the mansion, at Y/N's bedroom,

Y/N is having a hard time sleeping.

He couldn't sleep at all yesterday, thinking endlessly about Emma.

Which resulted into dark eye bags forming under his eyes. His face's complexion also turned into a lifeless paleness.

Y/N is in a state of depression

and trauma.

Everytime he closes his eyes, he would suddenly recall the night of Emma's death. The sound of Alice's gun firing as if endlessly. The blood which had covered the floor. And Emma's face which was butchered by bullets.

His uncontrollable thoughts are making his head spin, and his stomach nauseous.

It's to the point where he has to seek help from someone...

But who...?

Y/N : "Alice..."

Y/N slowly got up from his bed.

He took a heavy sigh, staring at the dark floor. He then walked out of his room.

He walked through the halls, arriving at the doorsteps of Alice's room.

Y/N knocked.

The door opened.

Alice : "Y/N." She softly said his name, a small smile forming on her lips as she looked at the figure before her.

Y/N : "It's abit embarrassing to ask this... But... Can I sleep here, Alice?"

Alice : "Oh?" She began to blush.

Sleeping with Y/N...?

She can protect him and be next to him, in bed, at the same time!

The idea was inciting

excitement within Alice.

Y/N : "I just have trouble sleeping... You know... I keep thinking about Emma..."

Alice : "Oh...?"

"Why do you even need to think about that dead girl...? She tried to kill you.

If there's anyone you need to think

about, it's me." Alice said in her mind.

Alice : "It's fine... You can sleep here,

Y/N." Alice opened the door wide open.

Y/N walked in.

Alice got in the bed, putting the blanket on her. Y/N slowly walked to the bed, blushing in embarrassment. He lifted the blanket and got in.

"I'm next to him. In bed. I'm so happy!"

Alice cheered within her mind, trying

to hide her ever-growing smile.

She never shared a bed with anyone before. This is the first time. Yet, she's so happy that she can share a bed with her beloved Y/N! There's no one else in the world she would want to share a bed with other than Y/N!

Y/N : "Thanks so much, Alice."

Y/N thanked her, hiding his blush.

He just wanted to be next to someone

in his sleep so that he could feel safe. And Alice was the perfect candidate, especially since she's the one who protected him. But now, he couldn't

help but blush.

It's also his first time sleeping next to someone in bed.

Alice : "You're welcome, Y/N."

Y/N : "Well, um, goodnight."

Alice : "Goodnight."

Silence.

They closed their eyes

and started trying to sleep.

As Y/N speculated, being next to someone, feeling the warmness that they radiate which is a proof of life, comforted him. He slept right away, finally soothing his lack of sleep.

It's like sleeping next to his parent.

But his dad never hugged him and his mother never got the chance to.

And as for Alice, she can't sleep at all, she can't stop blushing. She can't stop feeling butterflies fly in her stomach, feeling her skin shudder everytime she remember that Y/N is next to her,

just sleeping.

She has never expected that feeling

love was this great before. She now

had learned that emotions can be

wonderful things as well.

Alice turned to Y/N, who was sleeping with his back facing her.

Alice : "Y/N... Are you awake?"

She whispered to him.

No response.

Alice looked over Y/N's side, looking at his face and seeing his closed eyes, now knowing that he really is asleep.

Alice : "Cute..."

Alice slowly wrapped her arms

around his chest, hugging him.

Alice : "So warm..." She

closed her eyes, smiling.
