《》Chapter 27

It's been 2 weeks of me and Jay training as newborns (that's what our type is typically called). I haven't gotten used to these wings but I've learnt how to control my anger and apparently i have the ability to bend the elements and i think I've got the hang of that now. Me and Ross are on good terms again. I was currently curled on my bed laying on Rosses bare chest trying to get to sleep.
After what felt like an eternity i fell asleep
I wake up, and my whole body is stiff and sore. I try to move, but I am tied to a wall. The ties are slightly too tight around my wrists and ankles, and I let out a moan of pain.
"She is awake." Says a deep voice as red eyes appear in front of me.
"What are we doing with her, master?" A girl comes out of the corner and looks at the guy. She also has red eyes. He looks from me to her, before handing her a small box.
"She is a the Ashen Angle. That means she deserves the torture before she brings back the forbidden memories." The girl gives him a wicked smile before pulling dagger out. She looked familiar. She comes closer and her wicked smile grows wider.
"It won't hurt that much." She says before barking out a laugh. "Who am I kidding? This will hurt like hell." She holds the dagger to my stomach, and I watch as the she stabbed me over and over from my stomach to my wings. I let out a scream of pain, and hot tears trickle down my face.
More people appear in the room, and they all laugh at me. A tall guy joins the girl burning my skin, and when I look into his eyes, I realize it is the same eyes that i loved the most beautiful eyes I had ever seen.

Ross.
"How pathetic. Newborn could never be useful to us." He roars, and he takes the dagger from the girl's hand to do the same thing to the other side of my body. I let out a yelp, and more tears stream down my face.
"Jacob!" They all start to chant that name, and more tears stream down my face. I look at Ross, who is laughing along with the others carrying Jacob out and started doing thing they just did to me to him.
Words couldn't describe how I felt. I yell and scream, I even try kicking, but nothing works. I'm useless. My body is useless. I was about to give into them when I bolted awake, my cheeks wet with tears.
"You are awake." Ross says, and I see him. He is standing in front of me with his arms crossed over his chest. I let out a scream before moving away from him and zipping towards the door.
"Get away from me!" I yell, and he gives me a confused look before following me to the door.
"Why? What did I do?" He lays a hand on my arm, and I yank it away. The spot where he stabbed me in the dream feels like it is still hurting, and I lean up as much as I can against the wall to keep away from him.
"Don't touch me. Don't come near me!" I yell again, and he gives me a strange look before opening the door. I open it and zoom out, far away from him, and far away from the dream I had. I ran to Jacob room finding him crying as well he ran towards me hugging me close wrapping his wings around me protectively.
"Why are you crying" i ask him

'I saw snippets of your dream and i thought that t was real' he said kissing my forehead.

"She won't come train. I don't know what's wrong with her." I hear Ross groans with an agitated voice outside of my room, and Alex sighs.
"I will talk to her. Stay here." Alex walks into my room and gives me a smile. I stay under the blankets, scared that he will come too.
"What's wrong, Darcy?" Alex asks with a sweet voice, and I shake my head
"I-I don't want to be near him." He gives me a confused look before sitting beside me.
"Why?" I take a deep breath, and sit up to look at her.
"I was in a dream or something. They were stabbing me with a dagger. He was doing it too. He was encouraging it then he did the same to Jacob. I-I thought it was real." I let out a choked sob, and Alex stares at me with a sad look in his eyes before giving me a hug.
"It will be okay, Darcy. He won't hurt you."
"I was in the dream?" We both look up to see Ross standing at the edge of my bed. Alex glares at him before walking over to him and hitting his shoulder, so hard he actually falls over.
He stares at me in shock, but it instantly turns to a sad look. I stare at the two siblings before looking at my hands.
"I so sorry Darcy. Tell me about the dream." He whispers, and I take a deep breath before fully explaining the dream. When I finish, he looks at me with regret, and immediately he comes to my side.
"I'm sorry, princess. I would never hurt you or your brother. You are my mate, and I will to protect you." He gives me a hug before standing up and running a hand through his disheveled hair. "Want food?"
"Yesssss. You guys don't feed me i neeeeeeed food!" Alex pops his head back in. I laugh and Ross says
"We give you food, but if you was a feed then you shall have one" and with that Jacob is behind him with his fangs out.
"You giving me permission to eat him?"
"Yep!" Ross shouts
"Yo i want food toooo" Chris yells coming in my room as well
"Well Ross i guess you are buying everyone dinner" i shout smiling and everyone cheered we all walked out to the car but Ross pulls be back
"I love you"
"I love you to" and i kissed him feeling my whole body tingle
"Come On we want dinner before our immortal life ends" Jacob yells and Alex and i burst out laughing where's Ross glares at Jacob.

Tower of Somnus
When humanity first encountered alien life, we were judged and found wanting. The Galactic Consensus interviewed our leaders and subjected us to a battery of psychological tests to determine our progress as a society. They found us to be selfish, wasteful, impulsive, and boorish neighbors. Earth was blockaded and our collective encounter with our extrasolar neighbors rapidly faded from memory. All they left behind was a hypercomm relay and a handful of subscriptions to a massively multiplayer game that participants played in their sleep. The Consensus said that it would let us interact with our neighbors in a controlled setting. That it would teach us to be better members of the galactic community. The megacorporations that controlled Earth ignored the game until they learned that the powers earned from clearing dungeons were just as real when day broke. Magic, supernatural abilities and rumors exploded from nothing and a subscription to The Tower of Somnus became a status symbol. Katherine ‘Kat’ Debs doesn’t have much, but it could be worse. Born in an arcology, she was assigned a job in the megacorporation that raised her almost as soon as she could work. Despite the stability of her corporate life, she wanted something more. A chance to claw her way up the rigid social and financial ladder to make something of herself. A chance that wouldn’t come naturally to someone as familiar with dark alleyways and the glint of steel as she was with office work and corporate niceties.Book One is up on Kindle Unlimited as of 7/6/22 - https://www.royalroad.com/amazon/B0B2X3L8H5

8 431To Cross the Threshold
What would one do, when a star crashes into the Earth? Die, of course! Except, in Joseph's case, it was all wrong. He met face-to-face with the Light, got the program forced into his brain, and woke up far, far away from his small insignificant hometown, in the ethereal endless void, full of stars and vigour, guns and loot, Daemons and Skills! From there on out, he got volunteered into the crew of the Morning Star, the pirate ship he was unfortunate enough to stumble upon. With a tree for the Captain, a dragoncat for the Quartermaster, and a human, equal in height and width, as the Cook, he sets sail across the mysterious and hostile Threshold, filled with fierce abominations, rich Ghosts, and patriotic soldiers from the Glorious Metal Empire, all to figure out what the Light has brought upon his Earth that day, and to find his way back home. Warning - English is not my first language, so I apologize in advance for any inconsistencies and grammar mistakes. Please, do point them out when you find some. Updates three days a week - Monday, Wednesday, Friday. This book is about the slice-of-life-ish lighthearted adventures of Joseph and Co. Just one long bumpy road, inspired by old-school RPGs.

Some of you believe in fate and some of you don't. That's ok in our world. In the world that I created Fate has been acting strange and selfish for a long time. She was always fascinated with humans and the fact that they had soulmates because a lot of other races didn't. Ever since humans started traveling through space, that opened millions of new opportunities for Fate to make the human soulmates meet. However, because of her strange behaviour Fate made too many mistakes. After that, Fate made what she thought, was a good move. What she didn't count on was that the good move she made knew that you can cheat fate. One and his crew don't know how ironic it is that she chose them to make her good move. ------------------------------- I didn't use any movies, books or series for inspiration the story is my original work. This is just the result of my weird imagination and brain telling me what to write. I hope you liked it :) It’s just a story, like all of my other stores. It doesn’t have a deeper spiritual, moral or ethical meaning.
