《Words I Left Unsaid》Family War

They say family is what life is all about,

A community of people related by blood who are meant to cherish you and guide you to the path of happiness and success,

So why is it that family is what broke me down the most?

Why is that I had to undergo mental wars in my family unit?

For a father,

You failed me and broke my heart before any man could,

Your words cut deep like a sabre and left the nastiest of scars,

You were too weak to face your own struggles,

Yet enforced the rule of braveness and commanded that I shouldn't cry when times got too mentally challenging,

When all you seemed to do was turn to liquified cancer,

Which turned you cruel and heartless.

For a mother,

You took a backseat and expected me to drive at a young age,

My body bending and breaking before I could even grow old,

It was incredibly taxing for me,

Pouring my blood, sweat and tears into a life that felt almost pointless,

Your manipulation mutilating my kind heart like shrapnel to a soldier,

Causing unimaginable damage.

So, if family is what life is about,

I'm not so sure I want one related by the purest blood,

But instead I'll create my own with the purest angels that I meet,

The one's that guide me to the serenity of heaven up above.
