《FALLEN》CHAPTER TEN.

The uncontrollable emotion of anger pulsed through my veins. An urge to dash over to where that sick bastard was sitting and beat the shit out of him, grew inside of me. He was eyeing her up like a fucking creep, but I let that go at first.

I'd tell him to back off later.

But when he fucking threw a sexual comment her way, I couldn't control myself. I wanted to beat him for being a pervert towards Belle, and just because I hated him. I was taught to never hate someone. However, if I disliked someone, that was acceptable. But hate was just something I never felt or found the need to do - until I came across him. My teeth gritted in frustration as I the urge grew.

"Boy, calm yourself." Robert lowly muttered in my ear. My head shot over to face him, my brows unfurrowing.

"Your hands." He motioned over to my hands, which were curled into fists. I let out a deep breath, slowly unclenching them.

"Fuck sake," I muttered to myself. Robert nudged my rib, once again making me look up at him.

"Why does it look as if you're ready to beat the shit out of Mark?" He asked, a hint of amusement dancing in his words. And suddenly, I felt myself get worked up again. My head shot up, darting to where the fucker was sitting.

He was grinning, his eyes locked on Belle, as if she was there to please his fucking beady eyes. Another nudge.

"Not now, Robert." I lowly muttered, slowly standing on my feet, only to be pulled back down. My jaw clamped shut and my eyes darted over to face Robert. I could only imagine the anger on my face, making him sigh.

"Don't do something stupid, Sam. I don't know what that little prick has done to get you like this, but don't do something you'll regret." He scolded me. I frowned, still feeling the ever lasting anger I felt towards Mark.

"I'd never regret knocking the shit out of him." I mumbled, truthfully. A sigh sounded from his lips.

"I know that, you crazy ass white boy. But you'll regret the consequences." He laughed. I cracked a small grin, feeling myself relax slightly.

"Look, I don't know what's going on with you and that little lady over there, but relax, man. Mark won't try anything, there's guards everywhere." He continued to say. I found myself nodding along, letting out a deep breath.

He was right. He wouldn't be able to try and do something to her. There were guards everywhere.

But that still didn't wash away the need to beat him senseless.

"You're right." I breathed out, leaning forward in my chair and placing my head in my hands.

"And there's nothing going on between us..." I trailed off, closing my eyes. I didn't know why, but the words seemed like lies. A snort sounded from him.

"It's alright. Don't have to tell me, boy." He clapped a hand across my back.

"I have nothing to tell." I muttered, leaning back up to face him. Our conversation was hushed, not wanting to attract the unwanted attention from the guards standing around like fucking statues.

"But as soon as this sessions over, I'm going to put him in place." I lowly said, my eyes glancing at the ugly fucker for a second. But his eyes were trained on someone else.

"Dinner break, you're free to go, inmates!" Ass face, Joan's said in the microphone. Over the session, I had mixed emotions bubbling up inside of me. I was angry one second if I happened to look up and meet eyes with Mark. And then I'd relax myself, reminding myself I didn't want to face any consequences.

But as soon as the words left Joan's lips, I shot up from my chair and made my way over to the fucker who was testing me. His ugly laughter sounded in my ears as I neared towards him, his golden teeth glistening when the light reflected on it.

He thought he was the shit around here. Him and his little minions who basically licked his ass. I didn't have a problem with them - none. But because their leader hated me, they followed him. Only adding onto a few irrelevant enemies on my list.

I didn't say a word as I took a large step forward, reached out and grabbed the afraid fucker by the collar. His rotten breath flooded my nostrils for a second. I held back the urge to gag.

When he looked me in the eye, a sloppy grin grew onto his thin lips. My teeth grounded with one another.

"Blake, nice surprise to see you." He chuckled, holding his hands out to probably stop his minions. I didn't understand why, I would happily beat their sheep asses.

"I'm not here for a fucking catch up talk, I'm here to remind you who you're messing with." I lowly muttered. His eyes glinted.

"Oh yeah. Who am I dealing with?" He played along, trying to get me pissed off.

It was working.

"I don't think I really need to answer that, but I'll be more than happy to remind you." I tugged a little on his collar, earning a low groan from him. I could easily tug a little harder and cut of his air supply.

I was tempted to do so for a second.

"What the fuck do you want?" He finally asked, breaking the act of trying to seem fearless. I half-smirked.

"I've already warned you before, but I guess that little brain of yours didn't understand." I loosened my hold on his collar, slightly. As much as I loved to kill him right here and now on this spot, I didn't want to face the consequences after.

"Continue looking at her like she's a fucking piece of meat and throwing perverted comments her way and I won't hesitate to remind you who the fuck I am." I let go of his collar, shoving him back. He stumbled, but was steadied up by one of his minions.

"Don't fuck with me. You know I won't think twice to deal with your ass." I glared at him. He glared back. With one last lingering glance his way, I turned on my heels, brushing shoulders with one of his glaring minions.

"Fuck you, Blake!" I heard him call, but I didn't pay it a single fuck.

"I'll do whatever the fuck I want! You little pussy!" He yelled. I closed my eyes, inhaling a deep breath. It was when I looked up, I was met with blue orbs. They held confusion, shock and what stuck out most to me...fear.

My heart dropped as I glanced over her. She was standing beside Daniel, whose eyes I felt already on me. But my eyes stayed locked on hers. A frown was curled onto her plump pink lips, her hands fidgeting with one another.

I glanced away, realizing I probably looked like a fucking manic. A picture painted in my mind of myself. Red face, fists clenched, jaw locked and a pissed look on my face. I let out deep sigh, turning directions.

There was only one place I wanted to be right now.

One thing which would calm me down.

The upbeat melody sounded in my ears as I bounced with every step I took. The sky was crying with drops of rain, wetting myself and the green grass I ran on - but I didn't care. My heart was drumming and my skin was warm from all my body movement.

It had been an hour since I walked out on session two, knowing session three was probably about to start, but I was occupied for the time being. The anger I was feeling was slowly fading, but the picture of Belle flashed through my mind, the fear sticking out in her blue orbs.

I picked up my pace, ignoring the sudden dash of rain falling faster. I had a stitch on the side of my hip, but I continued to run. My mouth was dry as well as my throat, awaiting to be refreshed with a cold glass of water. My legs were beginning to ache.

Yet, I didn't stop.

I glanced down at my white sneakers, covered with strands of wet grass. I grimaced, knowing it would be a bitch to get off. Inhaling a deep breath air of freshness, I glanced back up, but that's when my heart struck with surprise and confusion.

Standing by the buildings door, was no other than Belle. Her hands clutched onto an umbrella, while the other was holding a tissue, covering something I couldn't tell from here. Her body was shaking slightly, and I think she was either uncomfortable or cold.

Maybe a bit of both.

Her eyes were locked on me, a hesitant smile growing onto her lips as I found myself nearing towards. It was as if my feet had grown a mind of their own.

"Belle?" Her name left my lips as a question.

I was confused.

"Sam...hi..." She trailed off. My eyes bored into hers, searching for the emotion which I knew secretly lurked within her. But it wasn't there. I stared back into relief filled, ocean colored eyes.

"What are you doing out here?" I lowly asked, noticing a red blush on her cheeks. Definitely caused by the cold wind. I think.

"I...I came to look for you...you seemed upset." She squeaked out. I let out a soft sigh, rubbing a hand across my face.

"Are you...a-are you okay?" She softly asked. I pursed my lips, before licking them.

"I'm fine." I muttered, glancing down at the ground. And just when I stopped fucking running, the rain decided to clear up and the sun deciding it was time for it to shine. I mumbled out a curse word.

Belle slowly shut her umbrella, lowering it down to her side. I found myself watching her with an odd interest. She just intrigued me, as stupid as it may sound. A silence danced into the air.

"I-I, uh brought you a brownie." She extended out her hand, a soft wind brushing against the tissue, to reveal a chocolate dessert. I absentmindedly licked my lips, but glanced up at her.

"Brownie?" I chuckled, a genuine one. She nodded, shyly glancing around here.

"There weren't any cookies in the bakery area, but they had these. And I-I just figured you'd be hungry since you missed your dinner break." She shrugged. My lips twitched into a small smile and I slowly took the brownie from her. My hands brushed against her fingertips.

"Thanks." I cleared my throat, only then feeling my stomach rumble, reminding me it was time to feed it. An angelic giggle sounded in my ears, making my heart oddly lift. I watched her with a small smile.

"Someone's hungry." She breathed out, arching a brow of amusement. I nodded, watching her with a smile. When her eyes met with mine, they narrowed slightly, a breathtaking smile still playing on her plump lips.

"Can we talk?" She suddenly asked. And I'm not gonna lie, it startled me for a second.

"I...I know it's not therapy session, but as I said the other night, I-I'm your friend. I'll listen, but I won't talk...not unless you want me to." She stuttered here and there. My eyes lingered on her and the corner of my lips twitched upwards.

"Sure," I rasped, clearing my throat. Her eyes widened slightly in what seemed like surprise.

"Really?" She smiled. I nodded.

"But won't the guards notice I'm not present -"

"- Don't worry about it, I already talked to Daniel and he said he'd tell Mr Joan's. You're fine." She quickly said, interrupting me. I slowly nodded my head.

"Alright."

"Uh, let's go sit somewhere. It looks as if you need it after all that running." She suggested, her eyes trailing over my wet T-shirt, which I felt clutch onto my skin. When I glanced back up at her, she blushed, looking away.

"Sure," I said with a smirk of my own. The two of us walked in silence as she led me over to a set of stairs. She sat down, clutching onto her lab coat. My thighs brushed against her from the close distance between us. I noticed her blush, but I didn't say anything.

I smirked to myself.

There was a short silence and all you could hear was the sound of nature around us. A few birds chirping here and there and of course the low howling of the wind. My stomach rumbled again, and that's when I dug into the brownie.

Fucking delicious.

"So...uh, what happened back there?" She asked, feeling her eyes on me. I swallowed down the bite of chocolate, and glanced up at her.

"I put the fucker in place." I flatly told her, not wanting to go into detail about the ugly prick.

Just the simple mention of his name could get me worked up.

It had gotten to that point.

"What's that supposed to mean?" She softly pressed. I sighed, licking my lips which had a few crumbs on them.

"Come on, Belle. Don't act as if you were oblivious to his perverted stares and especially his way out of line comment. I told him to back the fuck off, because if he doesn't, I will knock him out." I simply told her. Her mouth parted slightly and a blush painted onto her cheeks.

"I...I'm not oblivious to his stares, but you shouldn't have said that." She squeaked out. My brows furrowed.

"Look, I can tell there's some tension between you two and you probably have a past of your own, but by telling him that, you're only provoking him to continue. He wants to get under your skin." She whispered.

"He wants you to act out, so you'll get into trouble." She quietly told me. I slowly chewed on the brownie, trying to comprehend her words. I could understand where she was coming from, but at this moment I wanted her to understand I didn't care if I'd get into trouble. He was out of line.

"I don't care about the consequences, Belle. If he continues to stare at you like you're a fucking piece of cake, I will deal with him. He shouldn't be able to basically eye-rape you, throw a few pig like comments your way, and then get away with it. No. If nobody else deals with him, I gladly will." I firmly told her.

"You understand?" I glanced over at her, tearing my eyes away from the clouds. Her cheeks were red and her eyes were locked on me, a small smile on her lips.

"Just don't do anything stupid. I-I don't want you to get into trouble, especially for me." She sighed.

"I'd do anything for you, Belle." I blurted out, without a second thought. Her eyes widened slightly.

"You deserve respect." I mumbled, clearing my throat.

"Thank you." I heard her whisper, but I was still trying to register that I had just said something so stupid.

Idiot.

The air fell silent and I ate the last of my brownie, throwing the tissue away as I wiped my hands on it. I chewed down on my last bite, glancing over to Belle's shifting on her feet. I glanced up at her, her head instantly turning to face me.

I simply stared into her ocean like orbs, a odd sense of comfort welcoming me. I don't know what it was, but I just seemed to feel as if it I could relax around her. That I shouldn't worry what I say...she'll understand me by the end of the day.

Suddenly, I felt the soft touch of her finger tips as she reached out and wiped the corner of my lips, my heart forgetting its steady beat. Her warm breath brushed against my lips, her face a few inches away from mine.

"Y-You had a crumb." Her words trembled, and her cheeks burned with a blush. It was then I realized the true innocence this fascinating creature held. She was precious, like I had said before and it never failed to amaze me to as what someone like her was doing here.

And suddenly, I couldn't stop the words which left my lips.

"Don't get too close, Belle. Don't fall for me..."

Confusion washed across her eyes and I felt my heart drum in anticipation, awaiting for her to speak.

"W-What...what's that supposed to mean?" She softly asked, her brows narrowed. I inhaled a deep breath, taking one last glance at her, before tearing my eyes away.

"Just...just don't."

With that, I stood up and walked away. Feeling her eyes on me.

I felt the need to run again.
