《Secrets Kept》Baby Boy

"..thit! Hey!" He suddenly heard his friends voice. Looking up, he noticed that Knott was waving his hand in front of his face.
"What? I'm sorry, did you say something?" Arthit asked. Knott shook his head.
"Sit down first. You sound like you ran a mile." He said. This made Arthit realize that he was breathing heavily. He wasn't showing that much, but he had still gained about 10 pounds and wasn't used to carrying around that much extra weight. He followed his friends instructions and sat in a chair near the window. He tried to calm his breathing down while he watching Knott sit on the edge of the bed. Once Arthit's breathing had slowed down, Knott nodded.
"Now, what did you need to talk to me about?" Arthit finally got out.
"It's nothing bad. I have just been noticing you struggling recently. Are you alright? You seem to have gained some weight the last couple months as well. You are eating weird things and a lot more. So what's going on? Are you alright?" Knott finished, leaning forward so his arms were braced on his knees.
"Yes. I am alright. This is how I normally eat, you just don't know that because we haven't known each other for very long. And about my gaining weight, I am just.. not doing as much as I was during hazing. Also, finals are coming up, so I am a little stressed. We only have 3 weeks to study and then, after finals, it is summer break. I still don't know what I want to do for the summer." Arthit had been rambling, but Knott interrupted.
"Alright. Alright. Slow down. You answered the questions. I get it. We haven't known each other that long, so I am just trying to make sure you are alright. By the way, I have been asked a few times if you're dating anyone and I had to say I don't know. I would like to be able to answer them next time." Arthit paused at this question. Kongpob and he had agreed not to tell anyone about the other for now, but at the same time, he didn't want people hitting on him.

"Umm... No. I am not dating anyone and to be honest, I don't plan to anytime soon. I just want to finish University and begin a career before I start dating. So if anyone asks, just say I'm not interested." Arthit finally answered. Knott nodded.
"Alright."
The topic was forgotten about after that.
May 29th
8.5 months along
Summer break had begun 3 weeks before and Arthit was ready to be done with carrying the baby. He just wanted it out. Mostly because they had decided to wait to find out the gender as they wanted to be surprised. They already had both names picked out and couldn't wait to meet the baby. He was so glad classes were over and he didn't have to move from his room that often.
His parents had been asking when he would be coming home, and he'd had to tell them it would be 2 weeks or so more. His excuse was that his friends wanted to hang out for a while longer before joining their own families without the stress of school. His parents had been happy to know he had made such good friends so they had relented.
He was staying with Kongpob at the house his parents had bought for him for when he graduated. They had also called Kong to find out why he wasn't home. He didn't know what Kong had said because Arthit didn't want to eavesdrop, so he had waddled out of the room to give him some privacy.
The two were currently sitting in the living room area, watching TV after having eaten dinner. Arthit was laying with his head resting on Kongpob's lap, on his side.
"Hey, Arthit. Are you okay?" Kongpob suddenly asked, sounding worried. Arthit turned his head to try and look in his direction before answering.
"I'm fine, why?"
"Well, you keep tensing up and you're rubbing your back." When Kongpob mentioned this, Arthit realized he was right. He took a moment to assess what his body was doing, but then he realized there were little twinges of pain going through his back and around to his belly.

"Kong, help me up. I think we need to call the doctor. Something isn't right." He said, immediately trying to sit up. Kongpob helped him get into a sitting position. Then he stood up to grab his phone to call the doctor. They knew the baby could come earlier, but the doctor didn't think it would be this early. When Kong spoke to the doctor, he told him to bring Arthit in just to be on the safe side as this was a very unusual situation. Hanging up the phone, Kongpob grabbed the bag that they had packed for when the baby would make their appearance. He watched as Arthit finally made his way to his feet only to bend over and groan.
"What's wrong? You said the pain wasn't that bad." Kongpob said hurrying over to try and help him.
"It wasn't bad while I was sitting down. But now, it does!"
"Okay, the doc said to head to the hospital and he will meet us there." Kongpob assured him. They made their way to the car out front and Arthit was placed in the passenger side before Kongpob ran around to the other side.
The drive was only 10 minutes, but to both men is seemed to take hours. Kongpob hated seeing Arthit in so much pain and Arthit had never felt pain this bad before. They finally arrived at the entrance of the hospital and never nurses rushed out with a wheelchair. They all helped Arthit get out of the car and into the chair. Arthit was being wheeled inside as Kongpob drive to find a parking spot. It only took a moment and then he was rushing into the hospital, where he was immediately taken to the room where Arthit was being assessed. He had changed out of his clothes and into a hospital gown already and they were taking vitals of him and the baby.
Kongpob did back and watched until the doctor that had been with them since the beginning came into the room.
"What's happening?"
"Nothing to worry about. We are just getting him prepped so he is ready for the surgery. We spoke to you about it before. We were going to schedule a C-section later this week. Baby seems to want to get here earlier then we thought." The doctor explained. Kongpob nodded before a nurse approached him to let him know where he could get a gown on over his clothes so he could be in the room with his partner.
The next hour and a half passed quickly. The next thing that Kongpob knew, he heard a baby cry as he sat next to Arthit's head. Looking at his partner, he smiled seeing him smiling as well. He could see the love in Arthit's eyes as they listened to their baby cry. Kongpob looked over the partition to see their baby being placed on Arthit's chest.
"Is that...?" Arthit asked him.
"That's our baby." Kongpob replied.
"Mr. Sutiluck. Would you like to cut the cord?" The doctor asked, making Kong look up and nod. Cutting the cord, Kong looked at their baby. He smiled when he saw that they had a...
"It's a boy!" The doctor finally said, letting Arthit know which name they would be using.
"A boy? Anutak. Our baby boy!" Kong watched as Arthit began to cry. He could tell he was so happy. The baby's cry was slowly dying down as he was picked up again and wrapped in a blanket. The baby was handed to a nurse so they could check him out. The doctor began sewing up Arthit and it wasn't long before the baby was handed to Kongpob.
Looking down at the small face, Kongpob immediately felt the love of his new son. He began to cry as he took the baby over to Arthit, bending over so he could see as well.
At the first look, both men knew they would do whatever they had to in order to keep their baby boy safe and happy.

The world isn't fair. If anything, the inherent injustice of the world is what separates it from the fiction we so adore. Luis Freighthold knew this all too well, and that was why it took a bit longer than it should have to realise when he suddenly had everything he could ever have wanted. Raised in a working-class single-father home, Luis had no other escape than fiction. Specifically, vampire stories of varying quality and genre. There was something appealing about the ability to fly, turn into shadows and become smoke. Danger. An unfamiliarity with the social world that rejected him so. Was it so wrong for him to hope for a different life? Maybe, maybe not. Either way, now he had it—a lust for blood and abilities beyond the understanding of civil man. Could you really say that he had anything left to complain about? A vampire story following an unconventional vampire boy forced to accept that maybe becoming a vampire doesn't magically solve all your problems. As a matter of fact, it might just make a whole bunch of them even worse. Regardless, Luis is prepared to try everything to live up to the vampire books he had previously gorged on. What did it matter that his vampire form had no teeth, replaced instead by a long, needle-tipped tongue? He was still a vampire, wasn't he? Chapters are around 10 A4 pages long, releasing once a week on Mondays, 01:00 CET.
