Life had been going well for a change. Isaac was happy. He hadn't been this happy in a long time, it was mainly due to Jake. He always had time for Isaac, he was constantly messaging Isaac, proving himself over and over again to Isaac and Isaac was loving it. He had wanted so long for something like this. His past experiences hadn't been good at all, especially when his mum was had abandoned him and only recently returned. Isaac was still successfully avoiding his mum and uncle like the pro he was. But of course, the universe had it out for him and everything came crashing down in one day.

The chaos started when Benji announced that he had a date with Alice, who he knew had become Kaya's enemy, not to mention the romantic feelings she had for Benji. Kaya was obviously upset, however, she carried herself like a trooper and shrugged it off. It wasn't until Kaya had basically fled to maths in the morning before Gabby was yelling at Benji in the corridor, before following Caggie as they went to console Kaya. Benji was confused, he didn't understand what had happened which led to even more arguments at lunch when Benji invited Alice to sit with them.

Gabby was furious, if there was one person not to get angry in a public place it was Gabby. She had no shame and was the most dramatic person Isaac had ever met. And he was friends with Caggie, "I refuse to sit here, if that bitch is here."

"Stop being a drama queen and sit the fuck down." Benji snapped, he was equally as angry as Gabby. It wasn't his fault he didn't know about Kaya's feelings. Still, he could've been a bit sensitive to Kaya's feelings about the whole school council situation. Alice had practically kicked her out the door.

"Excuse me? Who the fuck do you think you are Benjamin?" Freddy straightened up, no one ever called Benji by his full name, this was only going to end badly, "Kaya has been your friend for years and this skank helped destroy her school council career. The one Kaya was so proud of. Be a better friend Benji. Stop thinking with your dick."

Isaac looked around the table. Kaya was no where to be seen, Isaac only could imagine how she was feeling right now. Isaac would probably run away too. Caggie was sitting opposite Benji and Alice with a blank face, she was angry too, but Caggie wouldn't say anything until Kaya said something. Freddy was sitting in between Isaac and Benji looking slightly confused. Isaac was under the impression that Freddy was aware of Kaya's feelings for Benji, but maybe he was wrong. It wasn't like they activity discussed it. Alice too, looked a bit uncomfortable. Isaac would have felt sorry for her but, he really didn't care. He was definitely team Kaya, but Benji was still one of his best friends. It may take a while, but he'll eventually catch on that what he was doing wrong.

Benji threw a look at Freddy that said back me up man, "Gabby, I get it. Kaya will get over it. She's cheerleading now."

The look that Caggie and Gabby gave Benji was terrifying this was why Isaac didn't piss off the girls. They were scary, and they meant business. Benji was about to open his mouth to say something else, probably to defend himself, but Caggie beat him to it.

"For fuck sake, Benji she's in love with you."

It was as everything stopped. Gabby was staring at Caggie like she had just divulged national secrets, Freddy was moving his head back and forth from his sister to his best friend, who was sitting there like he had just watched someone get stabbed. Isaac couldn't believe Caggie had just spluttered it out, like that. As if it couldn't get worse, Kaya walked up to the table, stopping short looking confused at the people at the table.

"Is everything ok?"

Benji twisted his head so quick to look at Kaya it looked painful. Kaya stepped back at Benji's reaction to her joining the table. Isaac knew straight away that this was not going to end well. Caggie muttered something under her breath, that Kaya heard which only had her looking more confused.

"You're in love with me!" Benji spluttered out, standing up from the table, staring in shock at Kaya.

Kaya opened her mouth, then quickly closing it. Isaac's heart broke for her. Kaya looked absolutely devastated, she had tried so hard to keep her feelings a secret and now they were out in the open. She wasn't even the one who got to voice them. Benji took a step forward towards her, although Kaya was running away too quick for anyone to follow. Benji stared after her, waiting until Kaya had disappeared until he fell back into his seat, looking like someone had just pulled the rug from under him. Isaac didn't know what to say.

Isaac had thought that the drama with his friends would be the last of his problems that day. He was wrong, so wrong. Just seeing the curly brown curls walk towards him was enough to get Isaac excited, however, the person that the curls belonged to looked pissed as they stormed towards Isaac. Isaac was already frowning, before Jake reached him.

Jake was pushing Isaac backwards until his back hit the hall behind him. Normally, Isaac would have been slightly turned on, however, he had a feeling that he was the reason behind Jake's anger. He had no idea why, but Jake was very openly anger right now and Isaac was the one pushed against the wall.

"I fucking trusted you." Hissed Jake, "I can't believe you. Everyone's right about you."

Isaac had never been so baffled in his life. Whatever Jake thought he had done, he hadn't. He would have known if he had done something to piss Jake off this much, "I have no clue what you are talking about."

"Elliot knows. He knows about us. Said you told him. How could you? You said you didn't mind I was in the closet." Jake looked so hurt, it broke Isaac's heart. It hurt more that Jake thought he would do any on that. That hurt was quickly replaced by anger towards Elliot. Isaac really fucking hated that guy.

"Jake, I hate him. I didn't tell him shit." Isaac took a deep breath, "I wouldn't do that to you."

Jake looked like he wanted to believe Isaac. He looked close to believing Isaac. Isaac knew though before Jake even had to say anything that Jake was scared. Elliot was his friend, a loudmouth friend who for some reason had sway with the boys on the football team. Jake didn't want anyone to hate him, to jeopardize his chance with football. He loved football.

"Isaac." Jake opened his mouth, then quickly closed it. He wanted to say something, he clearly changed his mind and said something else, "Just leave me alone, ok. Just for a while."

And with that Jake was walking down the corridor. Isaac had to pretend like his heart hadn't just got broken. He was going to kill Elliot Johnan.

After the day he had, Isaac collapsed on his bed with a sigh. One hand flung over his face, trying to ignore he drama that had happened. He would deal with everything and everyone one step at a time. Tomorrow, Isaac would beat the living daylights out of Elliot. Then he would beg Jake to give him another chance. Convince him that they worked.

All of Isaac's thoughts were knocked from his head when his bedroom flew open revealing both his dad and his uncle. Isaac cursed himself, he spent so long trying to avoid his family crisis, he forgot to sneak in today. His dad was glaring at his uncle and Isaac knew that this would be a bad conversation.

"Can we do this later?" Isaac asked, he would at least try to avoid it.

His uncle snorted before stepping into his room, allowing room for his mother to join. His uncle and mum stood at the end of Isaac's bed, his dad standing in the doorway with his arms crossed, glaring in the direction of his brother and ex-wife. Isaac looked at his mum, the women who left him with his drunk father when he was twelve. She wasn't even looking at him. It hurt. He hated her more for leaving that he could ever hate his dad.

"Hi Zac. Good to finally see you kid." His uncle said, drawing his attention away from mum to look at the man he had worshipped as a kid. The man who rejected him too.

Isaac rolled his eyes, "Why are you here? Why are you with her?"

Isaac couldn't help the way his voice wobbled, it wasn't fair. Why were they back now? What could they possibly want?

His mum and his uncle looked at each other, with a nudge from his uncle his mother finally looked up. Finally looked at Isaac for the first time in six years.

"We're getting married."

Isaac's heart dropped. He flung his head to look at his uncle, he couldn't believe what he had just heard. In what world was this normal? How had this even happened? Isaac couldn't help but up at his dad standing in the doorway, he had been pissed from the first day they turned up. Maybe, just maybe, they wanted him to go with them that's why they wanted to see him so badly. Maybe, he was going to get his dream of living with his uncle. To have his mum back.

"Congratulations, I guess." Isaac shrugged, trying his hardest not to give away how hopeful he was about it all. This was his chance to get out of his house with his dad.

His mum stepped slightly forward, "You've grown up into such a beautiful young man, Isaac."

Before Isaac could even say something back, his uncle was pulling her backwards by her elbow, "Samantha, we haven't got time for this." He turned to face Isaac a small smile on his face, "We're moving away, after we get married. I just wanted you to know that the cars can't carry on anymore. This is your last pay check. I wanted to come alone, but your mum wanted to see you one last time."

Isaac was pretty sure everyone in the room heard his heart snap into a million tiny pieces. He was an idiot, he couldn't believe he allowed himself to even think that he would get to be happy. Live in a home where he was loved unconditionally. His uncle was not only taking his mum away from him, but the way he payed for all of his father's problems, how he kept the roof over his heads and now that was all gone. Isaac was pretty sure his uncle had just ruined his life.

So, Isaac did the only thing he knew how to do. He put on a brave face and pretended that everything didn't hurt, "Thanks. You can go now."

And they did. They silently left his room, his dad following them. Isaac wasn't ashamed to say that once he was alone and the door was closed. He crawled into bed, hid under the covers and sobbed his heart out.
