《To Love Gabriel Harris [B×B] ✔》EP 19: WHAT THE---

I was glad we could sneak through the back of the house into my room. Alexander grabbed a change of clothes from his room before sneaking in.

He wore a cute floral button up, folding up his selves that curved perfectly around his muscled biceps. Scheming through my closet, I felt his presence behind me.

His lips laid a gentle kiss on the crook of my neck, making a shiver run down my spine. God what was wrong with me?

Suddenly, he placed a necklace around my neck, its cold silver metal against my now warm skin. Glancing down, I let my fingers touch the edges of the pendent that was shaped into a house.

" Does that house represent the hut?" I asked softly.

" Yup, I want you to have my necklace." I turned around, letting my hand trace his collarbone.

" I can't take this Xander, you always had it with yo--" he interrupted me.

" I trust you with my necklace Gabriel, promise me...promise me that you will t give this to anyone." He practically begged, taking my hands in his.

It all clicked. This might be the necklace Kara wanted so badly, but why? It looked like a normal pretty pendant...

I nodded, " You have my word." I felt ill just by the thought that I could possibly be breaking my promise.

Scaring me to death, the door flew open. Blake bursted into the room, throwing his hands in the air.

" THERE YOU ARE GABRIEL...and Alex?" Blake was clearly shocked to see Alexander in my room.

Especially since a month ago we seemed to just get on each other's nerves. Blake pointed between us, a question mark plastered over his features.

I had to think fast, I knew Alexander wouldn't be able to save us, he seemed to have lost his sense of speech.

" We were playing UNO," I picked up the stack of UNO cards by the side.

" Alexander challenged me, he said he was wayyyy better than me, but I guess he finally realised that that isn't true, right Alexander?" I nudged Alexander harshly out of his daze.

" Ah yes..yes of course, he's the best, like he's so good that--" Alexander rambled off, messing up his cover. Both Blake and I knew very well that Alexander wasn't the type to give compliments away just like that.

Blake shook his head slowly, trying to digest the scene before him.

" Anyway, Angie is getting impatient so be quick both of you." And with that Blake closed the door behind him.

Slapping Alexander's head from the back, I slipped on a comfy sweatshirt.

" You little shit head, you nearly blew our cover!" I snickered when he gave me a guilty smile.

" Then maybe in the future, you could just shut me up like this." He pressed his lips on mine, sharing one more sweet kiss.

I couldn't get enough of him.

"AHHH LOOK AT THAT UNICORN!" Angie gushed, tugging Alexander's hand who chuckled at the sight of her excitement.

I, on the other hand was staring ahead. Looking at that looming monstrosity spinning the life out of its sardine-caged occupants, I was dumbstruck. It was huge, smoky, bedazzled in cotton candy pink unicorns and yet it was intimidating

Ever since that initial impression of a ferris wheel became fossilized in my imagination, all these rides seem to remind me of mythical elfs, huge unicorns carrying off their screaming passengers like sacrificial virgins.

Even the droning sound of their engines brings to mind the great roar of a fire-breathing dragon with smoke spewing from its exhaust-pipe nostrils.

Call me dramatic.

" Gabriel...are you alright?" Alexander shook my shoulder lightly, " You look a lil' pale..." he caressed my cheek.

" I'm not going on these rides, Xander. I love Angie but have you seen those fire breathing things? it's like we are walking straight into hell!" I folded my arms across my chest, I'm am never stepping foot into that line.

Angie was too engrossed in the various stalls, pointing eagerly at each attraction.

Alexander bursted out laughing, "These rides are for kids ages 4 to 8 years old, I'm sure you can survive it Gab." He pinched my cheeks while I pouted. I was terrified, nearly pissing in my pants.

Mind you, I was wearing a dark blue shorts so it won't look nice if I pee myself.

The evening went by with me taking each chance I got to buy food for Angie instead of going on rides. If I couldn't go on rides with them, I might as well make them both happy by getting some cotton candy.

It was already 7.30 pm, and both of them were going on their millionth ride. I really admired Angie and Alexander's relationship, they had such a close bond it scares me how it feels as though he's her brother.

As I queued to buy popcorn, my phone buzzed. It's been long since I got a message like this.

You're really playing with fire Gabriel, what must I do to make you mine? I'm watching Gabriel,

I cringed just by reading the message from my blackmailer, I've come to take his words as empty threats. His words won't stop me from loving Alexander. But, it did creep me out how he knew my whereabouts.

I finally reached the front of the queue, a broad smile spread across my cheeks upon seeing her.

" Charlotte! You're working here?" She seemed equally surprised.

" hey Gabriel, yeah I gotta earn a couple of dollars to buy my new make-up kit that I'm must have." She flipped her hair sassily over her shoulder.

" What are you doing here?" She wiggled her eyebrows suggestively.

" I'm here with Alexander and Angie." I blushed under the dark lighting. She squealed after hearing my words. I was rushing to leave, knowing perfectly well how I was holding up the queue.

" You guys are the cutest! I wish I could have something like you had! Anyway, have fun ya!" She passed me the cup of popcorn.

Waving her a lasting goodbye, I jogged over to a dizzy looking Angie and Alexander.

" That ride was AMAZING!" Alexander agreed with Angie, still looking dazed.

" You're looking pale Alex, you sure these are rides for 4 to 8 years old?" I teased, causing him to straighten up almost too quickly. Nothing could shrink his ego.

" Uncle Gabriel you have to go on the Ferris Wheel!!" Angie's words made Alexander smirk.

Oh no. Can a black hole just suck me up already?

" Yeah uncle Gabriel, wanna join us?" Alexander mocked, I was so close to slapping that smug look on his lips.

The next thing I knew, the old gruff looking man strapped Alexander, Angie and I onto one bench on the Ferris Wheel.

" There's been a mistake here sir, I don't want to be here, I'm too young to die ple--" I grabbed the old man's hairy arm, pulling relentlessly against it.

I wasn't planning on letting him go till he stopped this bloody Ferris Wheel.

" Shut up kid, you little wimp!" He yanked his arm from my grip, leaving me whining. While Angie cheered and Alexander threw his head back laughing.

" Since you won't shut up...." Alexander said in a sing song voice, biting his lip.

Angie was too distracted with her legs dangling off the edge. While I was distracted by....Alexander's lips on mine.

" Fuck, I'm gonna die." I said in between the kiss which was clearly muffled.

" At least you will die with me in that case." Alexander countered.

" Yeah that just makes it worse." I deadpanned, which made him hold his palm against his chest in fake hurt.

" Don't go breaking my heart!" Alexander begin singing a Backstreet Boys song while I rolled my eyes, trying to contain my smile.

Angie, being her savage self, covered her ears. Leaning over to me, she covered her mouth and whispered into my ear.

" please tell him that he sings so badly, my ears hurt!" I broke out into laughing fit, but stopped myself when I realised I was about to fall off the seat.

Nope, I wasn't ready to die.

" Angie says you sing so badly her ears hurt!" Alexander glared at Angie who played around with her ponytail. It didn't take long before Alexander was covering her in kisses.

Mustering all the courage in me, I took a glance down to see the whole carnival below me. I had to say, it was magnificent --- the stalls were lit with tiny lights, a big unicorn head was distinct in the middle of the carnival, people dashing from one spot to another hoping to see the whole carnival before it ends.

I looked back at Angie, she was such a spark of joy, her doll eyes staring at everything in awe.

" Her parents must be very blessed to have her." I remarked, Alexander gave me a tight lip smile.

" Her mom left her..."

" oh...god I'm so sorry... so her dad is the only one raising her?" He nodded, stroking her hair ever so tenderly.

" Why did her mom leave her?"

" It was a one night stand." He answered curtly, he definitely didn't like talking about this. However I took this positively, at least he was taking a step to open up.

After what seems like eternity, our legs touched the ground. Angie skipped to the exit of the carnival, twirling around aimlessly.

She ran back into Alexander's arms, he caught her swiftly. Hooking her small arms around his neck, she hugged Alexander before saying a sentence that made my heart stop.

" THIS WAS THE BEST DAY EVER! Thank you Daddy and Uncle Gabriel!!"
