《Loving Min Yoongi: How To Love Him》Chapter 52

The next couple of weeks flew by. Yoongi and Alex took every chance they got to spend time together outside of the group. It wasn't often, but it was enough. In the mornings they would sneak out onto the balcony to have their coffee together before he had to start his day with practices and she with her editing. He had even started showing her how to use some of his music equipment after she had asked him how it all worked. They had found a routine together and it suited them.

They had just arrived in Lima, Peru when Alex got a call from back home. It was her grandma.

Alex! Where are you by now? We haven't heard from you in days.

We just landed in Peru. Sorry about not calling sooner, we've been busy.

Busy my butt! You've been with that Yoongi

Maybe a little, but we really have been busy. We have half the episodes about finished up. A couple more weeks in South America, then we'll head over to Australia, then India before we head back to South Korea.

Good lord girl, I don't know how you do it. Well, don't forget about us. You better call more often so I don't worry.

Yes Neens, I will.

Oh, and have a good birthday week!

I will. I love you, bye!

Alex put her phone on the charger while she finished unpacking. She had forgotten it was almost her birthday. Traveling really messed with her mental calendar. She wondered if the guys knew, not that she would throw a big fuss about it. As she got older, celebrating birthdays didn't really have the same luster like they did when she was a kid. After twenty-one you just got old.

________

Tuesday the guys had just finished practice and were resting on the stage while slugging back water. Yoongi was laying on his back trying to catch his breath. "Hey, what do you guys think we should do for Alex's birthday?"

Jimin looked over at him surprised, "You know when her birthday is?"

"Of course I do you dummy! It's Thursday." He chucked his empty water bottle at him.

"Do you want me to help you look for ideas?" Jin was trying to hide his laugh.

Yoongi sat up and stared at Jin with a dry look, "I think you can sit this one out after the last fiasco."

Tae raised his hand, "Can I help this time? I think I already have an idea."

Yoongi shrugged his shoulders, "OK, I want to plan something as a group, but then also something just her and I can do."

"Do you know what you're getting for her gift?" RM was stretching his legs out to work out the tight muscles.

Yoongi nodded his head, "I wrote a song for her."

The guys all stopped and stared at him. Jungkook had a huge smile on his face, "Yoongi, hyung, you're really turning into a romantic."

"I'm not good with words when I have to speak them and say how I feel. It just came more naturally through a song."

"Is that what you were working on all that time when you would hide away in your room?" Jimin brought him another water.

"Pretty much, its been ready for a little bit now, I was just waiting for the right time. I'm going to ask her out. Officially."

"Finally!" Hobi clapped his hands. "I thought you would never ask!"

Yoongi fell over in laughter, "I'm hoping that's her reaction."

They got up to get their things and headed back to the hotel. Yoongi and Tae had some planning to do, while the others would have to work on keeping Alex preoccupied to keep things a surprise.

________

Thursday morning Alex was working on her computer when she heard a knock at door. She went to answer it and saw one of the hotel staff holding a large bouquet of flowers. She took them and thanked the young man then closed the door. She set the vase on the table and pulled out the card with her name on it.

"For our sweet Alex on your birthday. We hope you enjoy your day and the surprises we have planned for you!

❤ The Joker, Joonie, Your Kryptonite, Sunshine, Trouble, Teddy Bear, & Baby Boy"

Alex burst out laughing because they had used the names she had given them in her phone, "I'm going to kill you Yoongi." She set the card down and smelled the flowers. She took them and placed them in front of her window. She wondered what else they had planned for her.

An hour later she received a call on the hotel telephone. It was the front desk confirming her spa appointment in one hour. Well, at least she knew what one of the surprises was. She hopped in the shower then threw on some yoga pants and a t-shirt to head down to the hotel spa. When she got down there, she learned they had booked her for just about everything they had to offer, a pedicure, manicure, massage, fascial, and a shampoo and style. She had a feeling Yoongi was behind the spa day. She would have to make sure she thanked him properly.

After she had been pampered, she went back up to her room to change. She found a note on the bed.

"Dinner in the group suite at 7, don't be late. -Yoongi"

She rolled her eyes, he could be so gruff at times. She went into the bathroom to get ready and found a note stuck to the mirror.

"You're beautiful."

OK, he was really pulling out all the stops. If he kept this up, she was going to be a pile of mush before the night was over. She left the note there while she did her hair and makeup. She was trying to think of what to wear. Should she go casual or dressy or something in between? She settled on something in between. A black off the shoulder peplum top with white shorts and sandals. She finished the outfit off with the bracelet Yoongi had given her for Christmas. She grabbed her bag then headed down to the suite.

She walked inside and shouts erupted. "Happy Birthday!" The guys had decorated the room with balloons and streamers, and there was a cake on the table.

Alex couldn't contain her smile, "You guys, this is amazing! Thank you!"

"How was your spa day?" Tae asked as he brought her over a drink.

"It was fantastic, I didn't realize how badly I needed that."

Tae looked over at the guys and winked while giving a thumbs up. The spa day had been his idea. The door opened and several hotel staff wheeled in carts with their dinner. Tonight they were eating Peruvian style. Ceviche, lomo saltado, and causa. It looked delicious. Someone put music on the speaker while they ate.

When they were done, they lit the candles on the cake and sang Alex happy birthday. It was the best birthday ever. As it was getting dark, the guys starting heading out one by one. Alex was going through her phone looking at the pictures they took during the party. She was going to have to make a memory book when she got back home.

Yoongi looked outside to make sure the sun had gone down. "Are you ready for your last surprise?"

Alex looked at him with wide eyes, "There's more?"

"Just one more thing, come on." He took her hand and led her out the door. They headed to the garage where one of the guards was waiting for them with the car. They got in for a short drive and were dropped off at Reserve Park.

He had brought her to the Water Tour. Dozens of fountains were spread across the park. They were lit up with colorful lights and set up in all different designs. It was like an art show with water. Alex's eyes were huge, "This is the coolest thing I've ever seen."

Yoongi nodded his head in agreement, the travel sites he found it on didn't do it justice. They walked around the park looking at all of the fountains. Kids were playing in the water in some places, and other tourists were taking their pictures with the fountains in the background. Yoongi found a bench in a quiet corner in front of one of the fountains, they sat down to watch as the colors changed and the water swayed back and forth in arcs.

They had been there for a couple of minutes when Yoongi finally worked up his courage. He pulled his headphones out of the bag he brought. "I have something for you to listen to."

Alex looked down at the headphones he held out to her. She picked them up and put them over her ears. She gave him a thumbs up when she was ready. He pushed play on his phone and the song started. Alex immediately recognized the music. Her eyes got really big as she pointed at the headphones then to Yoongi letting him know she remembered it. Then the words began.

Yoongi chewed on his bottom lip as he waited for the song to end. He had never laid out his heart in a song for someone before. If that wasn't nerve wracking enough, he was going to have to find the right words to ask her out and not sound like a tongue tied idiot.

Alex was listening to the lyrics he had written for her. She knew how hard it was to express how he felt about her, but he had found a way. She looked at him as the last lines of the song played out. When it was over, she took off the head phones and smiled at him softly. "That's why you put the music note charm on my bracelet. You finally wrote the lyrics for it."

Yoongi nodded his head. "Lex, those words can't begin to explain how much you mean to me. Ever since I met you, my world has been completely different. Every day I wake up and look forward to seeing you. You make me happy." He took a deep breath. "Will you go out with me? Like, officially?"

Alex's heart skipped a beat. As much as she had hoped to hear him ask those words, she never really thought he would. Was she ready to plunge into his world and walk with him? She stood up from the bench and turned to face him. "Come here." She motioned for him to stand up. He got up and walked up to her. She stepped forward so they were toe to toe. She grabbed him by his shirt and pulled him in for a kiss. She felt him melt against her as he wrapped his arms around her. She let his shirt go and slid her hands up into his hair to deepen the kiss. She finally pulled back and looked at him.

Yoongi looked dazed, "I'll take that as a yes?"

Alex laughed, "Yes, that's a yes." Yoongi looked at her with stars in his eyes.

He took her hand and they walked back to the car when his guard messaged him to let them know he was there. They got back to the hotel and he walked her to her door. "Did you enjoy your birthday?"

"How could I not? Flowers, pampering, dinner with friends, and a new boyfriend all in the same day. I'd say that's enough to last me till next year."

He laughed, "You're a mess. I'm glad you're happy though."

"I'm very happy, thank you." She leaned up on her tiptoes and gave him one last kiss. "I'll see you at the concert tomorrow."

"See you tomorrow." He watched her go in then went down to his room. He fell on the bed and pulled his phone out. He had to tell the guys how it went.

The mission was a success!
